Hm? If you're talking about the breeding, smeargle must be male. If you're talking about the finished product, I'd like numel to be female :).
Alright just making sure and yeah it was a given the numel has to be female so egg moves so we double check what are they and also does the smeargle trick work with several other pokemon?

Yup. It works with all Pokemon in the field egg group :)
