Other Creative / Underrated Sets Thread (Read the thread, NO SHITTY GIMMICKS)

Not to sound too harsh, but I feel this moveset is extremely flawed. For one, Sleep cause might still be around. Two, once you Spore something, the opponent is just going to switch to something else. Sure you could Spore again, but there's always something in a higher speed tier/with priority...

    Other Good Cores

I know it's been said before, and it's not really my place to repeat it, but to those asking for advice on your cores please try to give us more than the Pokemon you're running. It's hard for us to help you without all the proper info, i.e. Natures, items, Abilities, EV spread, etc. etc.

Battle Spot Special Season 1: Gen 6 Pokémon Only!

Noivern, anyone? Second highest speed of all those on the list, access to Boomburst and Draco Meteor, STAB Hurricane, not to mention U-Turn.

    Other Good Cores

This is really interesting to me. I'm just getting back into competitive battle after ~10 years of not really being into it and I was wondering if I could get some help for a defensive work I think is really interesting. The core consists of Gogoat plus Florges, with the former being a defensive...

Go Shadow Ball over Shadow Claw. Even uninvested, Aegislash has monstrous Special Attack that can put a dent in a lot of things. That, and most of his counters have low Special Defense to begin with.

    Move Magnetic Flux

Was there a point to this? Refrain from these kinds of posts, please. I specifically said "pretty much," but it really doesn't matter. I don't know if it did, to be honest. Getting outclassed by Eviolite Doublade/Aegislash? That's about it.

    Move Magnetic Flux

I never said it was limited to Doubles/Triples. I just said you'll probably get more benefit out of it with a partner or two. Although, you do bring up good points. Yes, the user also gains the boost.

    Move Magnetic Flux

It's not, really. It only takes a single turn to set up, but only works if the Pokemon has Plus/Minus.

    Hullo.

    Move Magnetic Flux

Ay. There's nothing wrong with situational! Well, maybe that's not true. Regardless, with the new metagame forming, there's certainly no harm in discussing potential strategies even if they are doomed from the start.

    Move Magnetic Flux

Unfortunately... you're right. =/ Unarguably anybody would be hard pressed to use Magnetic Flux in any competitive setting. In a more lax environment, however, casual players could use it to break up monotony and try something new. Again: this strategy is not extremely potent, or possibly even...

    Move Magnetic Flux

Oh, goodness, no. You're not being a buzzkill at all, you're simply replying to the discussion which is obviously encouraged. Honestly, I thought about that, but forgot to find a spot for it in the OP when I wrote it up. Yes, I agree; you are 100% Earthquake fodder. Even with Klinklang...

Doubles XY Metagame Speculation (obviously spoilers)

I'd like to bring up our leafy friend, Gogoat. Between Leech Seed, Milk Drink, and Horn Leech, along with Sap Sipper for Grass- type immunity, and the right EV investment, Gogoat can be quite the beast. Not only that, but it has access to Rock Slide, squashing Fire, Bug, and Flying- type Pokemon...

    Other Stall

I know it's been talked about before in the thread, but I really think Infestation should get more special mention. Sure, you run the risk of accidentally trapping a check/counter or something that can begin to boost, but on the right Pokemon or in the right set up it can really have its affect...

This sounds awesome! Sorry if this has been answered before, but I can't find this anywhere, so, where can I tune in to watch this live?

    Pokémon Greninja

O- Okay now. Nobody was saying that you're wrong. I was simply stating my personal opinion on what I felt was more useful for Greninja if you're specifically going for kills off the bat. And, like I said, priority type changing is also a niche.
