Zygarde Discussion

Two Core Enforcers deal as much damage as two Draco Meteors (150 * 2 vs 195 + 105), while having better accuracy.
Gotcha. I had a closer look at Core Enforcer and it seems like it could be chaos in Doubles or Battle Royal.

As far as Ubers goes, this thing might be better as a physical wall than a Dragon Dance sweeper. I'm sure even non Power Construct Zygarde can find a home in OU because Thousand Arrows is incredible. However, the bulk of some of Ubers' physical walls, as well as the threat of Xerneas setting up on an Outrage-locked Zygarde cuts a lot of its potency. Furthermore, Ice Beam from the likes of Water Arceus and Primal Kyogre is massively threatening, as Zygarde can be OHKOed before Power Construct can trigger. However, I'm not ruling out the possibility of bulky DD Zygarde being a good option. Between Thousand Arrows and Zygarde being super fat it might be able to pressure certain balanced teams.

Zygarde, like mentioned above, possesses an unreal amount of bulk. Its physical bulk is unmatched by anything (excluding Multiscale Lugia/Lunala/ lol Fluffy Bewear vs contact moves), and even its base forme's bulk is formidable (I mean 50% here of course), surviving a vast majority of boosted physical hits and making it more easy to trigger Power Construct. Its special bulk rivals that of Primal Kyogre. Even though Zygarde lacks reliable recovery, it can take a surprising amount of boosted physical hits and can neutralize a good number of threats.

Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Power Construct
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic / Sleep Talk
- Glare / Protect / Rest

Go speed creep if necessary. Drop some EVs from HP if you want because its base stat is ridiculous - I'm merely maxing it out to show how much physical bulk Zygarde can get. And I'm going to do that through some calcs to give an idea of how fat this thing is.

These are calcs for Complete forme. 50% Zygarde takes approximately 51.43% more damage.

Dragon Tail outtrades the first two Pokemon pretty hard, while the last 3 mons won't enjoy Thousand Arrows (however, Arrows is only a 3HKO on Groudon). Arceus only takes 15%-18%, but between LO recoil, having to SD to even deal 37.5% to Zygarde, and Zygarde's Leftovers recoil, Arceus gets put into a rough spot (not to mention entry hazards). If Salamence uses Double-Edge instead of Return, it's basically taking 30% HP as recoil damage and gets Dragon Tailed for ~33% while Zygarde takes less than half.

As far as physical wall competitions go, it sets itself apart from Lugia by not being vulnerable to Gengar and some Steel-types, and can't be taken advantage of by Klefki/Ho-Oh/Mega Diancie (if that's even obtainable) and can check SD Ghostceus when compared to Giratina. It competes more with Bold Groundceus but Zygarde's better at handling opposing Swords Dance Arceus and in general is a lot bulkier despite not having reliable recovery.
