Welcome to the Victim of the Week project. Originally created in the Fifth Generation, the Victim of the Week project encourages users to creatively brainstorm and consider how to deal with premier threats in the OverUsed metagame. The premise is simple: each week I will pick a specific Pokemon's set that is both popular and powerful in OU, and then you guys will post a specific Pokemon set that is able to counter the one that I have posted.

Your goal is to find even underrated Pokemon that can counter big threats, so be creative; however, be sure to always write up a description of your selected Pokemon, including why you picked it and what it does, so that we can understand why you have chosen this particular Pokemon. At the end of the week, I will create a summary of what has been discussed including the best counters existing to said Pokemon. The original post will also be updated with the threat of the week and the winning counter. A new Pokemon will then be selected and the round will restart. Keep in mind that intelligent contributions can help you work towards the prestigious Community Contributor badge!

Helpful to this project are some definitions for checks and counters courtesy of MattL! Be sure to keep these in mind when you make your posts.

Pokémon A checks Pokémon B if, when Pokémon A is given a free switch into Pokémon B, Pokémon A can win every time, even under the worst case scenario, without factoring in hax.
Pokémon A counters Pokémon B if Pokémon A can manually switch into Pokémon B and still win every time, even under the worst case scenario, without factoring in hax.
General Rules

1. You are only allowed to post 1 answering set per Victim of the Week. If you wish to change your set (to something new), either delete your post and make a new one or contact me.

2. Format your sets so that are are easily readable. This means don't try to be extravagant with many fonts, colors, or images. A PS! importable of the set is perfect.

3. The sets you post must be viable in the OverUsed metagame. Ridiculously gimmicky sets won't be allowed. On top of this, don't post commenting on every single set unless you have something important to add.

4. As a rule of thumb, one-liner posts aren't generally encouraged as they don't add much to discussion. For this reason, you should aim for at least a few sentences in your response.

Victim of the Week #1

Kyurem-Black @ Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SAtk / 252 Spd
Mild Nature
- Substitute
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt

This thing is one of the best wallbreakers in the OU metagame and can set up on most of the defensive pokemon. Substitute blocks status while easing prediction and preventing it from being revenge killed easiely with priority moves. With bolt-beam coverage and earth power for steel types it hits very hard on both sides of spectrum with its gigantic attacking stats. It can easiely punch holes in a team allowing its teammates to clean.[/SIZE]

Dr Ciel

Banned deucer.
Right, here's my answer.

Escavalier @ Assault Vest
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Megahorn
- Drill Run
- Knock Off

Assault Vest Escavalier is an absolutely fantastic Pokémon to take on Sub + 3 Attacks Kyurem-B, as it's main selling point being its 70 / 105 / 105 Bulk & high base Attack. The addition of Assault Vest immensely helps him in countering Kyurem-B. With the equivalent of 343 HP & 372 Special Defense, he can easily take Ice Beam & Earth Power while calmly destroying the icy Dragon with either of his STAB moves, Iron Head, or Megahorn. Here are the damage calculations to prove that he can stand up to the legendary Dragon.

0 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 110-130 (32 - 37.9%) -- 94.6% chance to 3HKO

200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Assault Vest Escavalier: 46-55 (13.4 - 16%) -- possible 7HKO

200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Assault Vest Escavalier: 62-74 (18 - 21.5%) -- possible 5HKO

Meanwhile, as said before, either STAB, Iron Head or Megahorn destroys this thing.

252+ Atk Escavalier Iron Head vs. 56 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 330-390 (81.4 - 96.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 56 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 246-291 (60.7 - 71.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

It's not the perfect answer for Kyurem-B and its very situational but why the heck not:

Choice Band Garchomp. 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 SpDef. Dragon Claw/Earthquake/Coverage Moves

As I said, it's very situational and its not a good answer but it could work. Chomp 1HKO's Kyurem, but you need Kyurem's sub to be destroyed first and you need to switch into a Fusion Bolt or an Earth Power, thus you need to use a Pokemon that resists Kuyrem's main stab to break its sub and lure it into using Fusion Bolt or Earth Power to allow Garchomp a safe switch in. Though, a well predicted Ice Beam on the switch means game over for Garchomp.

Not a good Pokemon to take on Kuyrem but that's all I could think of at this moment.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Atk
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock / Spikes

200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Ferrothorn: 96-114 (27.2 - 32.3%) -- 51.6% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Ferrothorn: 64-76 (18.1 - 21.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Ferrothorn: 45-53 (12.7 - 15%) -- possibly the worst move ever

4 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 56 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 342-404 (84.4 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Specially Defensive Ferro takes Kyurem-B's special hits easily, resists his physical one, and hits back hard with Gyro Ball. Also has Leech Seed for recovery if K-B decides to switch out after the sub is broken by Gyro Ball (and if he doesn't, he risks being KO'd by another one), which means Ferro can easily repeat this process over the course of the match by staying in good health which is further aided by his resistance to Stealth Rock, while K-B will be progressively worn down by Stealth Rock and his own subs. Ferro can also take the opportunity to support the team by setting up hazards, capitalizing on K-B's inability to do much to him while also serving as a check/counter to many other high ranked threats such as Mega Gyarados, something a lot of other counters wont be able to say the same about.

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spd
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell / Calm Mind

Sylveon is a completely safe switch-in to this Kyu-B, with Kyu-B's attacks failing to 3HKO Sylveon, while Hyper Voice always 2HKOs even without Sp. Atk investment:
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 244 HP / 0 SpD Sylveon: 118-139 (30.1 - 35.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 107-127 (27.2 - 32.3%) -- 64.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kyurem-B: 300-354 (76.5 - 90.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Kyurem-B: 300-354 (74 - 87.4%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

As a bonus, Hyper Voice goes through Substitute, and when Kyu-B inevitably switches out, Sylveon is free to pass a Wish or Heal Bell to its teammates.

Looking at the responses, Fairies and steel types which are neutral to earth power check / counter this set very comfortably. Should have posted the life orb set to make it a little harder. :)

I'm on mobile and don't have time to do damage calcs, but choice band Scizor's bullet punch OHKOs Kyurem I believe.

I'm on mobile and don't have time to do damage calcs, but choice band Scizor's bullet punch OHKOs Kyurem I believe.
Here, I'll do it for you.
252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 56 HP / 0 Def Kyurem-B: 324-384 (80 - 94.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

It's a KO after SR/one Substitute though

The set in the OP has a Mild Nature though, so it does more to that specific one:

252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 56 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 360-426 (88.8 - 105.1%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 104 SpD / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost
- U-turn

Kyurem-B can't touch this.

0 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 248 HP / 136 Def Mega Scizor: 78-92 (22.7 - 26.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 104 SpD Mega Scizor: 66-78 (19.2 - 22.7%) -- 3.8% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 104 SpD Mega Scizor: 89-105 (25.9 - 30.6%) -- 9.8% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Earth Power vs. -1 248 HP / 104 SpD Mega Scizor: 133-157 (38.7 - 45.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252+ Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 56 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 270-318 (66.6 - 78.5%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Kyurem-B can't do anything to Mega Scizor, even Earth Power after a Special Defense drop does less than Roost recovers, while Bullet Punch means Kyurem-B is pretty much dead, and leaves you free to U-turn / Knock Off, or Bullet Punch if you don't want to risk taking any damage.

Scizor @

Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP | 252 Atk | 8 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
U-Turn | Bullet Punch | Knock Off | Roost

Mega-Scizor is a full stop too Kyurem-B wit it's massive 70 | 140 | 100 defenses and reliable recovery in Roost. It can therefore easely shrug of any of Kyurem-B's attacks and Roost up, and then easely kill it off with Bullet Punch.

Ill Edit this post later. This gay ninja'd me

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
- Soft-Boiled
- Protect

Chansey is a good wall in ou, can wish pass to team mates and it can takes hit from both spectrums.Chansey can just sit there and take any hit kyurem throws at it. Even if cube gets a lucky freeze with ice beam, chansey doesn't care because of natural cure

0 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 152-179 (21.5 - 25.4%) -- 0.3% chance to 4HKO
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 94-112 (13.3 - 15.9%) -- possible 7HKO
200+ SpA Teravolt Kyurem-B Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 63-75 (8.9 - 10.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever
