Reminders:

Substitution
:

This year we have four subs per roster, and Captains may use them as they see fit. Keep in mind once a player is subbed out, they cannot be subbed back into the same round, but can be put back onto the roster for next round.

Substitutions will be not be allowed in tiebreak series unless both teams agree (or TDs enforce double sub). We will be reluctant to give activity wins to those who are clearly fishing for them.

Simulator:

Pokémon Showdown is the main simulator for this tournament, though Smogtours can be used as well.

Standard Tournament Rules and Procedures:
On... Sportsmanship

Note the sportsmanship infraction may be used liberally this WCo1v1, and any unsportsmanlike conduct on the forums, in the tours or 1v1 discord, or in opposing wco1v1 team channels (you won't be infracted for you being a dick in your own wco1v1 team channel unless the situation is so extreme I feel I absolutely have to make an exception (consider basically any masterclass interaction ever)), will be grounds for an infraction. We encourage you to play semi-aggressively, but don't be a masterclass.

NOTE: Replays are required, so that we may further develop the tournament side of our 1v1 metagames. Any win posts without replays will NOT be counted as a win.

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru - aboslute body bag from leru LMFAO. this guy slammed all of his opponents in pools and beat the other guy in semis pretty easily while nalei has been struggling.
SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin - blazikin impressed me in semis but idt he'll beat smely here. idk could suprise me again and 3-0 smely
SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb - zioziotrip will forfeit as he is too scared of THE BLURB.
SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan - squirtell a better player and has broke through his weakness of bringing the same mons and has seemed to be using the ryy strat and bring wack af sets.
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ - landon has seemed to figured out how to play sm again so that basically means a death sentence for anyone against him in sm2, while also having squirtell support.
ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw - two transphobes i hope they both lose :blobtriumph:
BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo - eeu has lmni supporting solar now. ez 3-0 by solar
DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang - CBB IS RELEASED.
Monopoke BO5: D2TheW vs pazza - ima be honest d2 is a genius in monopoke, if he tried this much in an actual tier he'd be a menace

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru - leru has been doing really really well, but Nalei has been doing quite nicely herself, and has much more experience. hype series for sure.
SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin - smely is pretty slept on, and I think melo might struggle outside of SM. this is a really interesting shuffle EEU did
SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb - both these players lost last week vs people i think were pretty beatable for them. kinda unsure, slight favor zio ig.
SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan - 187 fan showed last week he's got what it takes in SM, but squirtell is on a roll vs some serious opponents.
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ - landon is very clearly not crust, and Ink is playing outside his best tier.
ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw - is ggopw.
BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo - solar showed last week that he's still got his BW chops. sansho destroyed stable in pretty hilarious fashion, but im not sure if he'll be able to repeat that performance.
DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang - CBB vs centrals weakest slot, with Ink support. not close.
Monopoke BO5: D2TheW vs pazza

overall i think this DPP SM SS shuffle from EEU is really strange. i get that they wanted to take out perse, but taking ink and melo out of their best tiers could make it not worth it

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru - oml what a bodybag, undefeated player vs someone who lucked all of their opponents
SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin - I like smely but I thought his teams against bomb were iffy, gonna give it to Blaziken
SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb - Now that I'm done helping Asia, eblurb with my support is unbeatable
SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan - After I predicted against Squirtell, he's been on fire so I think he'll pull through
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ - Landon is kinda the goat.
ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw - goat of the tier vs some shitty newcomer who probably needs ghosting to even take 1 game.
BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo - Solar in BW is built different, he didn't even try last week against the other top BW player.
DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang - Sheesh.

EEU 5-3 Let's go team.

US Central (5) vs Eastern Europe (3)
SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru leru is beating Nalei 100% mf dropped like one actual game with no hax the whole tour I very hardly see Nalei taking this
SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin somehow, blazikin beat eblurb. Somehow, I also think smely is just better than eblurb
SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb yup.
SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan fan did win against Kentari but I still don't think that performance warrants enough clout to predict him winning here.
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ brothers duo lgi. Landon been popping off though
ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw lol
BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo sansho beat the God himself me in 3 with the extra valuable cteaming. And now that sansho has assimilated me to central discord it's OVER for garbage 1-2 in pools solarflarero
DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang the goat is back, and he has to face unmotivated, unsupported, 0-1 in pl alive. Not looking good
Monopoke BO5: D2TheW vs pazza pazzoat

A mixture of Heatrans and Tox w/ ryy....also um zio is there

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru - Nalei to continue her good luck
SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin - Melo brings Wigglytuff like bale should have ;p
SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb - First off I swear eblurb was that ducklett guy back in 2018 when all they would say and do was ducklett...also gl zio ^^
SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan - Squirtell has been shaky but it's better than being steered... cringe ik anyways #SquirtellSquad
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ - Dom once said Landon was good but never did anything. Landon once said something cool and yea Landon wins
ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw - They've played in the past, ryy uses ggopws teams and vise versa sometimes. ryy is a big mac and ggopw is a mcrib
BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo - Solar will say something pqs will find funny in win post but no one else gets
DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang - alive wins if he isn't building for everyone. Gonna guess ryy won't be asking for his help.

Tie Breaker: I'm providing content :D
SS BO7 Nalei vs Blazikin - Melo gets haxed, Nalei says sorry. Melo cries in French.
SM BO5 Squirtell vs ggopw - 50/50 heart says squirtell defies odds, brain says ggopw wins
BW BO5 ryy vs solar - solar wins and does an odd win post

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru It's not because Leru is 4-0 that he is good.
SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin I still don't understand why smely socks is overatted.
SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb same, eblurb overatted
SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan better
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ better
ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw When you will stop to suck ggopw balls? ryyy will rekt ggopw
BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo better
DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang better
Monopoke BO5: D2TheW vs pazza i don't care monopoke. I'd say pazza cause i like pizza.

Since I'am no longer able to pick up wins in a team tour apparently (2-9 btw), I need to resort to other means to boost my like:post ratio.

Wanony's epic 1v1 predictions

US Central (2) vs Eastern Europe (6)

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru (45-55) Leru has been really impresive so far. subbing in on the last day and 3-0'ing a decent bo7 pool without much prior 1v1 experience is insane. He looked good vs phili as well. On top of that he has a really good support system. Nalei definitely has a chance as well. She has more teamtour wins than anyone else and that means something. If Nalei can surprise leru with some creative sets this can definitely go her way, but I'am going to give a slight edge to the hot hand for now.

SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin (45-55) I've thought very highly of melo ever since I was on coastal with him 2 years ago. He has probably been the unluckiest player in 1v1 ever since then. things have been going quite well for him this tour however. His only loss so far has been to kentari in pools. He does find himself a bit outside his comfortzone in ss, but he won a really important game in the tier in semis. Smely is also 3-1 and has been playing ss for the entire tour. He is more than capable enough to take this. Should be a close series but I'am giving a slight edge to Blaziken.

SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb (55-45) Zio became one of the more impressive ss players in my eyes during his impressive pl run on the morpekos. He was their go to ss player for both their tb series and got an impressive win against solar in semis. He ended up going 6-5 throughout the tour, but 3 of those loses came at the hands of the ssbo7 goat, crucify. He is negative so far but he was put in the toughest pool across any tier in my opinion. Zio lost to ggopw in a very close serie in pools and ggopw was definitely able to suprise zio in with some uncommon sets in some of those games. That same player will most likely be very involved in prepping for blurb for this game as well. I was able to witness first hand that eblurb is a more than capable player in his own right. With the insane support his team is able to offer, he could very well take this. I'am going with the more proven player on the big stage however.

SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan (49-51) I'am going to predict a big upset here. Squirtel is obviously an amazing sm player. He has proven time and time again that he is among the best in his hometier. To top that of he had an impressive showing in that tiebreak against cp2. He has been using a wider variety of mons and sets, branching out from his usual stuff. this makes him even more difficult to cteam. 187 Fan on the other hand is a very versatile player. He is a dangerous player in basically any tier. He impressed me with his win over kentari last week and I have a gut feeling he is going to do it again here. Minimal edge.

SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ (60-40) What would a ggopw team be without a surprising line-up shuffle every now and then? I didn't expect to see ink in sm in finals, thats for sure. Ink is a really good player and he knows sm so he can definitely pull this off if he needs to. I would say he is the underdog here tho. Landon has only played twice so far, but he is undefeated against a respectable duo of lbdc and elo. When I first joined the scene, many people saw him as the best sm player. He has been gone for quite a while, but I have a feeling he will take this.

ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw (45-55) This is probably the biggest hl of the finals to me. These players know each other really well and that makes it even more interesting. ryy has been really impressive. He took a tb win against OM and should have beaten xsc last week as well. ggopw needs no introduction. He is widely regarded as the best player to ever touch 1v1 and rightfully so. He knows ryy well enough to not fall for his most of his tricks and should be able to bring solid yet surprising teams, as always. if ryy is able to surprise ggopw, he can take it. Otherwise, I'am favoring the Eastern Europe captain

BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo (40-60) Sansho has been impressive so far. He has a 3-1 record and a convincing 3-0 win against stable, who was #1 on the prs. Solar on the other hand didn't look that good in pools in sm. However, we are still talking about Solarflareromanian in bw here. Solar knows the tier better than just about anyone and is unpredictable in his teamchoices. That will be a big advantage in this match-up. Sansho has relyied on strong match-ups in most of his games. Those match-ups have been a result of extensive scouting most likely. Getting these match-ups against solar will be very difficult, as he can really bring whatever he wants.

DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang (45-55) Another really interesting mu. Back when dpp was still played on rom and other obscure sideservers, cbb had an amazing pl run with the jumpluffs. Whenever he actually had internet, he would be on the line-up and win his dpp game. He went 5-0 and then finals rolled around and he met alive. The American had only played dpp once before that, but was 5-2 up to that point as well. this impressive record included a win over cp2 in sm in semis. CBB was widely regarded as the favorite beforehand, but lost in a 4 game series. CBB hasn't played in 1v1 tours since. Alive on the otherhand has been around as a solid old-gens player since that pl. However, I will predict cbb to take this one. He probably wants to take revenge for that finals loss and can rely on ink, ggopw and 187 fan to make sure he is up to date with the new meta. If they don't get outprepped I think cbb will take it in a close series

Monopoke BO5: D2TheW vs pazza I have not watched a single game of monopoke yet this tour. Both of these players are creative, so it should be a good one.

Rooting for my boys on eeu to take it.

US Central (4) vs Eastern Europe (4)

SS BO7: Nalei vs Leru (51 - 49) I bolded Nalei just to not lose the first place in the ranking xd . Seriously, both are good players, from Leru I didn't expect such an impressive impact in 1v1, while nalei comes from a sensational steal vs Denis but still knows her stuff, excellent building skills that can confuse and be effective on Leru

SS BO5: smely socks vs Blazikin (40 - 60) I think the experience and the ability to prepare a bo5 play on this matchup. Ok it's not his mg but Blazikin has proven to adapt pretty quickly

SS BO5: zioziotrip vs eblurb (60 - 40) A greater knowledge of the metagame also allows greater ease of solid and variety building in the prep phase.
I have always appreciated the zio teams I just have to frame his playstyle but he is still a solid and good player

SM BO5: Squirtell 1v1 vs 187 Fan (55 - 45)
SM BO5: UBERLandon21 vs Inkreativ (60 - 40)
Hard mu for bros! Squirtell + Landon is a solid SM core, they know the metagame like the back of their hands, but are cool matches to watch. Btw i'm not surprise to watch one of bros win, they are solid and good player anyway.

ORAS BO5: ryyjyywyy vs ggopw (49.999 - 50.001) HL of entire tour! newbies should watch that serie to learn smtg about 1v1.

BW BO5: Sanshokuinsumireko vs SolarflareRo (45 - 55) i think simply better player

DPP BO5: alive vs CrashinBoomBang (40 - 60) CBB has excellent support that is sure to make a difference in this match and he's also a super player

TB: US Central (?) vs Eastern Europe (?)

I think US Central picks SM and Squirtell while EEU picks BW or crazy DPP cuz Solar for BW or Ink/CBB could be a solid win. I don't mind predicting a TB, good luck @both in case

Talking to me like they were they realist out
I'm sorry central, and more specifically zio, that you are the next victim of the eblurb effect. blurb is the main character of this anime. He set out on a mission. From day 1 blurb strived for greatness to claim what was rightfully his: a 1v1 world cup trophy. He grinded tour after tour to get his shot, to just get a chance to prove himself. And he did. Outplaying his opponents in every tour, only losing to hax and brainless strategies.

People may say blurb is a lucky player, but as I said, he is the main character of this manga, the world wants him to win. You cannot deny the greatness in blurb. His chat presence is like nobody else's. He will immediately throw you off by saying or doing some dumb shit. This may include mod chatting and voicing everyone except stableprince569, an excellent tactic.

His trash talk, while not commonly seen, is second to none. He gets personal with it and strikes deep into your soul,
"He's like the worse crucify" -eggs about [REDACTED USER] (2020)

His kyubit money matches in 1v1 room have trained him for high-pressure scenarios where he could gain an even bigger edge than he already had. You cannot beat blurb. The odds are so heavily stacked in your favor with him being in your head, his fans demotivating his opponents, his sheer metagame knowledge and him being the main character in this world. The only thing holding him back is being smogbanned by his parents. Once the words, "I've clicked" pops up in the battle chat from the flaming guitar, it is already over. I truly feel sorry for anyone who has to play this literal god at pokemon, I really do.

SO here is the prediction:

Zioziotrip vs BLURB

Thank you for listening to my TED Talk. Have a good day.

If you could not tell, I am extremely hyped for zioziotrip vs blurb 2 of my friends going at it, and yeah I might be slightly biased
