SV OU World Champ: Incineroar in Top 500 OU! (Peak 1778!)

57C4C06C-A430-4196-AA75-D18FCF643792.jpeg

Hello everyone! As many of you know, Incineroar is considered to be the BEST competitive Pokemon of all time. In VGC, at least. On the flipside, it has been mediocre in Singles its whole life. Well, that ends NOW!

The star of the show:

World Champ (Incineroar) (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 180 SpD / 80 Spe
Careful Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Parting Shot
Incineroar - Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia

:Incineroar:'s 95/90/90 bulk with Intimidate makes it quite bulky indeed. Its unique typing of Fire/Dark is very helpful to it, as it is not only very good offensively, (as we have seen with the funny fish :Chi-Yu:), but also very good defensively.

:Incineroar: has good matchups into meta mons such as :Kingambit:, :Gholdengo:, up-and-coming :Meowscarada: and its Icy counterpart :Weavile:, even :Volcarona:, as Flare Blitz can deal heavy damage, Knock Off to remove boots, or just Parting Shot to pivot safely into a better answer. Additionally, :Incineroar: matches up decently into lead :Deoxys-Speed: and to a lesser extent :Deoxys-Defense:. Even Draco dropper :Dragapult: fears :Incineroar:, as it can take the hit for its team in a pinch, avoid the 2HKO, and threaten Knock Off.

252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Draco Meteor over 2 turns vs. 248 HP / 180+ SpD Incineroar: 328-388 (83.4 - 98.7%) -- not a KO
0 Atk Incineroar Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dragapult: 300-354 (94.6 - 111.6%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

Specs Latios' Draco will 2HKO Incineroar, but not OHKO.
0 Atk Incineroar Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latios: 284-336 (94.3 - 111.6%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

Additionally,
252 SpA Choice Specs Kyurem Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 180+ SpD Incineroar: 242-286 (61.5 - 72.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

-1 252 Atk Protosynthesis Roaring Moon Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Incineroar: 216-256 (54.9 - 65.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

At the very least, :Incineroar: can get a suicide Intimidate off on :Roaring Moon: and force it not to Dragon Dance in front of it, lest it get Wisped and crippled.

:Incineroar: can really cripple opponents with Knock Off and Will-O-Wisp. Rocky Helmet :Skarmory:? No thanks. :Ting-Lu: goes from healing with Lefties to being Knocked, and hurting 1/16th HP per turn due to burn. Boots? Gone. AV? Gone. You WILL take hazard damage. You WILL get 2HKOed by that Moonblast. You WILL have :Incineroar: to thank for that.

In conclusion, Incineroar is a decent defensive utility/support mon.

Incineroar hates getting his Boots Knocked Off. But luckily, he's got a friend who will eat that up for him:

Sir Crabhammer (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 188 Def / 68 SpD / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- High Horsepower
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Protect

1703924523605.png

Poison Heal. The best ability of all time. Except, like, Huge Power I guess. And Pure Power. And-

...anyway. :Gliscor: absorbs Knock Offs like he absorbs Volt Switches, EQs, and Statuses, he sets Rocks, you know the deal. He lives like, everything and heals it ALL back up.

252 SpA Choice Specs Dragapult Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 68 SpD Gliscor: 307-363 (86.9 - 102.8%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO (if you don't want to risk it, switch)
252 Atk Great Tusk Ice Spinner vs. 248 HP / 188+ Def Gliscor: 228-272 (64.5 - 77%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal (3HKO with a Protect in between!)

This guy absorbs damage, spreads Toxic, and spreads Rocks. Toxic is obviously good for chipping away at opponents, and so is Rocks, partnered with :Incineroar:'s Knock Off, it can make progress easily.

High Horsepower is for Grassy Terrain. It isn't halved like EQ is, and the opportunity cost isn't too great (only 5 bp and 5 acc).

Forming an offensive AND defensive core with Incin, THE 2HKO LEGEND, PRIMARINA!!!

Prima (Primarina) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Torrent
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 248 HP / 180 SpA / 80 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draining Kiss
- Moonblast
- Surf
- Flip Turn

1703924839001.png

She looks so peaceful, until...

252+ SpA Choice Specs Torrent Primarina Surf vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 408-480 (102 - 120%) -- guaranteed OHKO

The power of this Pokemon is not to be underestimated. Most of the meta is 2HKOed by her.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Primarina Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Archaludon: 357-420 (92.9 - 109.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Primarina Surf vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Volcarona: 306-360 (98.3 - 115.7%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Torrent Primarina Surf vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking-Galar: 240-283 (60.9 - 71.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

And now, a short story:

+1 252 SpA Quark Drive Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Primarina: 252-297 (69.4 - 81.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Torrent Primarina Surf vs. +1 0 HP / 0 SpD Iron Valiant: 358-423 (123.8 - 146.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

:Primarina: is so absurdly powerful. In Torrent, even resists aren't safe from its Surfs, but it can also keep itself healthy with Draining Kiss.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Primarina Draining Kiss vs. 12 HP / 0 SpD Walking Wake: 308-366 (90 - 107%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO (63.6 - 70.7% recovered)

Speaking of resists, if a bad matchup might come in, such as :toxapex:, for example, you can pivot with Flip Turn! This allows you to reposition into a better matchup and allow :Primarina: to come in again later on a good matchup.

:primarina: has a very good matchup into :Walking Wake: and heavily threatens :Roaring Moon:. It resists :Gouging Fire:'s STABs, and if it gets knocked into Torrent, then:

252+ SpA Choice Specs Torrent Primarina Surf vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Gouging Fire: 378-445 (107.6 - 126.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO.

I will say that :primarina: is very vulnerable to hazards, as it is a slow attacker prone to getting chipped. Ideally, :primarina: should come out only a few times per game and put in heavy work while it's on the field.

Neck-st up, we have Raging Bolt!

Great Neck (Raging Bolt) @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 88 HP / 252 SpA / 168 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderbolt
- Thunderclap
- Volt Switch

He claps. Thundically. The Dracos he drops nuke a lot of things for heavy neutral damage, especially :gliscor:, who :raging bolt: is EVed to outspeed by two points.

252+ SpA Raging Bolt Draco Meteor vs. 244 HP / 68 SpD Gliscor: 282-333 (80.1 - 94.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

:raging bolt: can dodge enemy Dracos with Tera Fairy. Thunderclap is an amazing move, especially since it counter-prioritys :kingambit:. Thunderclap OHKOs :enamorus:, as well as rain threats like :Barraskewda: while resisting Water. :Raging Bolt: has an excellent matchup into rain, unleashing big Claps and resisting both Water and Hurricane. See calcs:

252+ Atk Choice Band Barraskewda Liquidation vs. 88 HP / 0 Def Raging Bolt in Rain: 179-211 (43.3 - 51%) -- 5.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Raging Bolt Thunderclap vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Water Kingdra: 272-324 (93.4 - 111.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
0 SpA Pelipper Hurricane vs. 88 HP / 0 SpD Raging Bolt: 63-74 (15.2 - 17.9%) -- possible 6HKO

You can even pivot using Volt Switch, in case something like an Assault Vest :Archaludon: comes in threatening to live Draco and KO with its own.

In summary, :raging bolt: is a very good priority mon with a particularly good matchup into Rain (if you remove their mandatory Ground type).

Get ready for the super SpDef special: it's Federal Agent GLOWKING!!!

Sir Federal Agent (Slowking-Galar) (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Future Sight
- Sludge Bomb
- Yawn
- Chilly Reception

1703926832916.png

That's Sir Federal Agent to you.

Future Sight allows :slowking galar:'s teammates to wallbreak easier, and to force switches/kills. Yawn is very useful to stop setup sweepers like :Volcarona: in their tracks, or just to force switches for his teammates to position better. Yawn into Chilly Reception is an amazing strategy, as it provides a completely optimal switch-in. Thunder Wave is also an option to consider, as this team is fairly slow.

:slowking-galar: provides the team a check to :Enamorus: and :Kyurem:, :Serperior:, :Iron Valiant:, and other miscellaneous special mons such as :Hatterene:, and stallmons like :Clefable:, :Toxapex:, etc. who are threatened either by Future Sight or Sludge Bomb.

The spinner. Ice AND rapid. We got TWO ground types in this joint. Heatran beware. Be very ware.

Raging Tusk (Great Tusk) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Temper Flare
- Rapid Spin

1703927631206.png

Don't sleep on Booster Attack :great tusk:. Seriously, don't. If you stay in after Glowking Yawns you, then wallahi you're finished. If Headlong Rush doesn't OHKO you, you will either get 2HKOed or Spun on Rapidly, allowing Tuskothy to outspeed your entire team and click Headlong Rush six times. This guy tanks :kingambit: Sucker Punch easily (provided you didn't blunder all of its HP away). He's immune to :raging bolt:'s Thunderclap. He's going to Temper Flare your :Gholdengo: if you DARE to block Rapid Spin. He's him.

252 Atk Protosynthesis Great Tusk Temper Flare (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Skarmory: 260-306 (77.8 - 91.6%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock.
252 Atk Protosynthesis Great Tusk Ice Spinner vs. 244 HP / 252+ Def Gliscor: 284-336 (80.6 - 95.4%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Protosynthesis Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. -2 0 HP / 0 Def Great Tusk: 406-478 (109.4 - 128.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Protosynthesis Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 225-265 (57.1 - 67.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Protosynthesis Great Tusk Ice Spinner vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Enamorus: 306-362 (105.8 - 125.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Interestingly enough, Tera Steel :Great Tusk: is more likely to live :Enamorus:' Earth Power than not, from full:

252 SpA Enamorus Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Steel Great Tusk: 336-396 (90.5 - 106.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO.

And if :Enamorus: Moonblasts on your Tera Steel:

252 SpA Enamorus Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Steel Great Tusk: 132-156 (35.5 - 42%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

You can get two Rapid Spins off before finishing her with Ice Spinner, allowing you to outspeed the entire metagame, including Booster Speed :iron boulder:.

What are the speed tiers being hit with the speed EVs on Incineroar, Raging Bolt and Primarina? Been using this team and I love it! Just curious about those

Incineroar and Primarina hit 176, which is just enough to outspeed some Kingambit sets, Skeledirge, and other low-speed mons. Raging Bolt is to outspeed Gliscor. Good to hear that you’ve been liking the team!
