Shortly after the creation of the Official Ubers Premier League Rap Thread for general discussion of all things UPL, yohoE posted a rap so outrageously atrocious that the thread was locked immediately, as it seemed highly unlikely things would improve after such a horrid start. However, well-known Pokemon Showdown Leader (&) and Rapper ($) Sweep decided to drop some sick bars in an attempt to save the thread. The not insignificant number of likes generated by his post suggests that there could be some hope for the thread after all, and it does seem a little cruel to not offer everyone else a second chance at the mic just because yohoE flubbed it up.

Decision: The Rap Thread will be reopened at the start of Week 1. In the interim, please take some time to prepare your raps so we can actually get off to a good start.

(I'll use this thread for real decisions in the future, this is just an example of what they'll look like)

Re: Destiny Device vs WreckDra

WreckDra's timer ran out at team preview due to an apparent disconnection from PS!, though he did not disconnect from IRC. WreckDra sent in his team, Destiny Device did not. Destiny Device offered a rematch with same teams which WreckDra accepted, so the battle occurred without incident. Destiny Device won the battle, and that is how it shall stand.

However, PLEASE send your teams in the future + don't play on phones if possible to avoid these gray areas in the future.

dice and Kebabe attempted to schedule using the proper VM correspondence, but could not arrange a time to play due to circumstances regarding the Easter holiday this past weekend. Both players have expressed their intent on wanting to play, and were not able to meet before the deadline. The Durians have also exhausted all their available substitutes for Week 1, and the match is significant in determining the final result of the Week.

Due to the extenuating circumstances, dice and Kebabe will have an extension until Tuesday, April 7th 11:59 PM EST to complete their match. I don't plan on giving many, if any, extensions in the future, so you've all been warned. Happy Easter!

At ~1:00 AM last night, CrashinBoomBang abruptly announced he was quitting Smogon, left his team channel, and reportedly changed his password to random characters to ensure he wouldn't be able to return to his forum account. He gave no advance warning to his manager or myself beforehand.

The Skymins will not be refunded credit for his departure. To clarify, he will be allowed to be sold back at midseason.

dice and Kebabe scheduled yesterday for their extension, however dice missed the time due to having to take one of his friends to the hospital. The Drizzlers did not have any substitutes online before Kebabe had to leave. I increased the extension to Wednesday, but it does not appear completing the match will be possible. While an activity win would ordinarily be appropriate under these circumstances, the reasons dice had for missing the game were pretty extreme, so this isn't a usual case.

The match will be declared no contest. Week 1 will go to the Drizzlers.

dekzeh hasn't logged onto irc or forums since April 3rd. There was no VM correspondence, ikarus has been on pretty much the entire week, even making an activity post, and given dekzeh's long period of absence it is pretty obvious who was more active here. ikarus gets activity win.

Iris and Nails scheduled for Sunday; however, Iris broke his hand in a sports game and had to go to the hospital, thus he was unable to complete the match. The manager of Nails's team requested an extension as Iris was expecting to be able to play tomorrow. Going to the hospital is also a pretty valid reason to miss a game.

Extension granted until tomorrow at 11:59 PM EST. This is a hard deadline.

Neither side has made any visible attempts to contact each other on forums. aim made an activity post, stating they had scheduled for Sunday over Skype, but they missed the game. Both parties appeared on Sunday, but did not play because of wildly different timezones. Because neither side left VMs or gave a hard time to play, I am forced to coinflip the match:

To clarify this a bit, obviously if D4RR3N has evidence of activity then it will be judged appropriately. However, in the event where it comes time to call an activity win and it is not clear cut for one team or the other, it will be ruled against D4RR3N.

Pretty simple here - both players tried to schedule using VMs as necessary, but could not arrange a time due to conflicting schedules. They both requested an extension, which shows intent of wanting to complete the match.

Re: Krauersaut vs Lamashtu

Lamashtu hasn't logged in to the Smogon Forums since April 22nd and was evidently nowhere to be found on IRC. In an attempt to avoid an activity loss for his team, user PROBLEMS took an alt named after Lamashtu and tried to challenge Krauersaut under this guise. However, the alt was discovered to be unregistered, an IP check revealed that PROBLEMS had taken the alt, and he admitted to doing so upon further questioning by a TD. PROBLEMS acted without informing his team of his actions despite the possible ramifications if he was caught, and it should be pretty obvious that impersonating another user to complete tournament matches is not okay under any circumstances. It is the responsibility of the manager to purchase active players.

PROBLEMS has been given an Unsportsmanlike Conduct infraction for his actions. Krauersaut was given the option to take the win or force a substitute from the Skymins. He chose the latter. The Skymins have until 4 PM EST tomorrow to name a substitute for Lamashtu.

Same situation as DD vs WreckDra where hyw DCed from the battle and could not reconnect. hyw sent in his team, D4RR3N did not. hyw asked for a rematch which D4RR3N accepted and won, so the situation resolved itself, more or less.
