Well... I never made a long post on Smogon before as my longest post has probably been less than 2 lines, but here we go.

Not sure how many care about this, but I just felt like I wanna post about this. I think with the end of this SPL it will also be the end of playing competitive Pokemon for me. I said I'll stop by the end of the previous one and probably the one before it, but I ended up joining the last World Cup and this SPL anyway.

I've been out of it for a few years now. I never really play outside of this tournament and World Cup anymore, so they are the only times I end up playing competitive Pokemon. My skill is obviously lacking nowadays, especially the team building part (which I was never good at to begin with). I was seriously sturggling to make a single good team this time around. It just seemed more like a chore to me rather than being fun, trying to cover all the threats and whatnot. So this SPL made me realize that I don't wanna do it anymore.

It's been long 8 years now since I first started playing this game compettitively. It all started back on the old Marriland forums. At first I was bad obviously, but that's how you always start. Also I wasn't always... a "gimmick player" as most people know me by now. I used to always use standard stuff not care about originality until my good friend Farmer told me back in like 2010 or 2011 that my teams are so standard and I can't make any original or cool teams, and it all started from there. After that I just started using weird stuff. So you have him to blame for that. Anyway, each year I started caring less and less about the game until I just didn't really care and Probopass happened. Well, there are lots of other examples that show I stopped taking the game seriously and just lost interest in competing and trying to win in it.

SPL is definitely the best tournament out there, to me at least. I have lots of cool SPL memories. I think that's why I just can't help but join it again and again. I don't like showing off at all and I don't mean this in such a way, but I'm pretty happy about my first 3 SPLs, the triple 7 as I call it. 7 wins in all of them, which is really cool. That made me the leader in SPL records for quite a long while, but that's not the case anymore. SPL 4 might've gone better if not for a certain incident (my 2nd time with sharks). MoP subbed me for the remainder of the season after my 4th game, which I lost, because he thought I choked it. I guess he might've been right, though I think his punishment was a little too much haha. Though, I was annoyed during that game cause I had won it easily if it wasn't for a toxic miss so that's my excuse. Anyway, there are a lot of memories with this tournament. It would take forever to talk about all of them.

That being said, I'm still playing in this season and will play it until it's over. I'll just be the secondary DPP player as Honor is going to be the main one. I'm sure he'll do a better job than me anyway. I didn't leave the Tigers or anything, so no need to worry about that teammates. As I've discussed with Sweep, I'm ready to start or sub anytime. It'll just be my last time.

Anyway, sorry for all the teams that ended up buying me after the 4th season. I clearly should've stopped playing this long time ago. I had lots of fun though. Now, I really hope I won't be joining next year or this coming World Cup... if I do please delete my post :p. Well, it'll be hard to join after making such a post anyway, which is good. It's a fun game and it's mostly luck and guessing, so don't take it too seriously out there. Thanks for the fun moments everyone.

That being said, I'm still playing in this season and will play it until it's over. I'll just be the secondary DPP player as Honor is going to be the main one. I'm sure he'll do a better job than me anyway. I didn't leave the Tigers or anything, so no need to worry about that teammates. As I've discussed with Sweep, I'm ready to start or sub anytime. It'll just be my last time.

Anyway, sorry for all the teams that ended up buying me after the 4th season. I clearly should've stopped playing this long time ago. I had lots of fun though. Now, I really hope I won't be joining next year or this coming World Cup... if I do please delete my post :p. Well, it'll be hard to join after making such a post anyway, which is good. It's a fun game and it's mostly luck and guessing, so don't take it too seriously out there. Thanks for the fun moments everyone.
