Hisuian Samurott has made a huge impact as possibly one of the best entry hazard setters OU has ever seen. What turns Hisuian Samurott into an amazing lead is Ceaseless Edge, as you're able to set hazards and attack in the same turn. Hisuian Samurott likes Surf as a secondary STAB move over physical options, since it does significantly more to Great Tusk, which is commonly physically defensive. Additionally, Hisuian Samurott can opt to use Torrent as its ability to OHKO most Great Tusk spreads with a boosted Surf. Knock Off helps Hisuian Samurott make progress with Spikes by removing items on the opposing team, most notably Heavy-Duty Boots, which otherwise would minimize the effect Spikes has on the game. Finally, Aqua Jet is used as a final way to chip your opponent's Pokemon further before Hisuian Samurott is taken out. Taunt also sees usage to prevent your opponent from setting up hazards and using utility or setup moves. Samurott runs Focus Sash to guarantee hazards in most scenarios. Last but not least, the Tera type of choice is Ghost to block Rapid Spin. As mentioned before, this Hisuian Samurott set is a suicide lead for hyper offense teams, so it is best used as the lead slot on that archetype.
