OU Ribombee

Ribombee @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shield Dust
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Ghost / Steel
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Stun Spore

Ribombee sticks around in OU as the tier's premier Sticky Web setter. Its high Speed allows it to outspeed already considered fast threats like Sneasler and Greninja. Psychic targets Poison-types such as Glimmora, Iron Moth, and Sneasler. Stun Spore lets Ribombee cripple faster offensive threats such as Zamazenta, as well as Pokemon like Cinderace and Corviknight that sponge its coverage moves and might try to remove Sticky Web. Tera Ghost grants Ribombee with an immunity to Rapid Spin from Pokemon like Great Tusk and Iron Treads, making sure Sticky Web can stay up against these foes. Tera Steel is another option that enhances Ribombee's matchup against Glimmora by granting it with an immunity to Mortal Spin and Sludge Wave. Focus Sash allows Ribombee to live any one hit so Sticky Web can be set up. Offensive Pokemon like Iron Moth, Iron Valiant, Manaphy, Ogerpon-W, and Kingambit appreciate Ribombee's Sticky Web slowing down offensive threats such as Zamazenta, Dragapult, and opposing Iron Valiant. Gholdengo is a great partner, as it can deny Rapid Spin attempts throughout the game thanks to its Ghost typing, while its ability Good as Gold lets it block Corviknight's Defog.

Ribombee sticks around OU as the tier's premier Sticky Web setter. Its high Speed allows it to outspeed already considered fast threats like Roaring Moon and Greninja. Psychic targets Poison-types such as Glimmora, Iron Moth, and Sneasler. Stun Spore lets Ribombee cripple faster offensive threats such as Zamazenta, and cripple Pokemon like Cinderace and Corviknight that sponge its coverage moves and might try to remove Sticky Web. Tera Ghost grants Ribombee with an immunity to (Reword this to say "immunity to Rapid Spin from Pokemon such as..." so it doesn't sound like exclusively these two) Great Tusk's and Iron Treads' Rapid Spin, as well as Maushold's Population Bomb, making sure Sticky Web can stay up against these foes. It can still use Tidy Up and beat you with Bite. You can paralyse it but tera ghost doesn't guarantee webs up. Tera Steel is another option that enhances Ribombee's matchup against Glimmora, granting it with an immunity to Mortal Spin and Sludge Wave. Focus Sash allows Ribombee to live any one hit so Sticky Web can be set up. Wouldn't Tera Ghost be a waste? You already have Gholdengo to spinblock so I feel like Tera Steel is better for the Glimorra 1v1.

Just some thoughts, maybe like a slash but idk how that works...

EDIT (for velvet). Dengo does the same thing without burning tera + walls Eq + Speed dengo. (thanks for explaining tho)

It serves to block spin or any espeed usage from dnite which are used in current meta. Both are used for different purposes and have viability. If paired with dengo you definitely do want steel, it just depends on your team comp.

FYI you won't tera with this guy 98/100 games. When you do it's pretty much always to force webs up via spinblocking (ghost for Rapid Spin, Steel for Mortal Spin).

You might not want to risk dengo's Balloon vs Treads or Tusk early game, whereas Glimmora is more manageable. Not to mention you might just not be running a Balloon Gholdengo (yes it's probably the best partner but you *can* work without it)
