Welcome to Rate of the Week! This is a project that looks to bring quality individual rates into the spotlight and recognizes the hard work of unbadged raters. Here's how it will work:

• Each week, official Team Raters will be paying close attention to the RMT forum and reading the rates posted in their respective tiers. They will then shortlist a few which will be in contention for the Rate of the Week award.
• From the pool of shortlisted rates, one will be chosen which most exemplifies the qualities of an excellent rate. That rater will be the winner for that particular tier!
• A post will be made by an official TR who specialises in that tier, explaining how and why the particular rate won. This will allow aspiring raters to gain an idea of what constitutes high-quality rates, and hopefully incorporate those aspects into their own rates.
• There will be multiple winners every week, one from OU and a couple from other tiers depending on the quality of the rates posted. We hope that in this way we can expand rating activity in less popular tiers, while maintaining a weekly OU winner.
• Official Team Raters are eligible to win, but not more than once. Unbadged raters can win the award multiple times.

So what's in it for the winners? Well, they will earn a place in the Hall of Fame, which will be kept in the OP of every thread, and their rates will be announced on social media. Also, after gaining 3 places in the Hall of Fame, a rater can be eligible to earn room voice in the RMT room on PS! on the condition that they've shown an interest in getting involved. Winners also earn more consideration for the Ladybug

and Team Rater

badges.

We hope that this project will encourage people to put more effort into their rates and become better and more experienced raters, which will consequently increase the quality as well as the quantity of rates in the forum. Good luck to you all!

Hall of Fame

Week #1 - Toon Linked (OU)

In case you missed it, we've added a new feature to the latest edition of the project: After gaining 3 places in the Hall of Fame, a rater can be eligible to earn room voice in the RMT room on PS! on the condition that they've shown an interest in getting involved.

This week's OU winner is Toon Linked! He has made a pretty cool rate with a simple format. The rate starts mentioning the huge threat of the team, which is Mega Pinsir, he start suggesting options explaining them, such as Thundurus-i over Serperior, which resists to Quick Attack and knocks it out with Thunderbolt, also Prankster may help the team gaining speed control. Thundurus also helps against stallbreaker Talonflame, which could be annoying with Taunt against Heatran and making it set up fodder with Bulk Up. He talked about Tornadus-T which is resisted only by Heatran, which is damaged pretty heavily by Focus Blast or Superpower. Thunder Wave also helps against threats such as both Charizards and Bisharp, and as last thing he talked about how much Thundurus-i helps gaining another ground immunity.

The second change is Stone Edge over Toxic, allowing Heatran to win 1v1 against Talonflame, considering Taunt Talonflame I guess, it also helps against Tornadus-T, Latios and Dragonite like he said. He talked about how Azumarill could also loses the 1v1 if burned and this move change helps against most of flying type. As last change he suggested to change Earthquake on Latios for Defog, explaining how this team doesn't have any kind of hazard control, considering Spike stacking are annoying to this type of team.

He also suggested other options, if the OP doesn't like the idea or the changes, which is always helpful, and he talked about changing Substitute with Dragon Pulse, if he doesn't like the Thundurus change, also that Serperior set is walled by most of Dragon types. He also supported another rate with Landorus-T over Clefable explaining why that change, helping Mega Scizor to set up.

Thanks to his good rate and multiple in-depth options to improve the team, Toon Linked was able to provide a great rate, and earned himself a spot in the Hall of Fame. Congrats!
