Quagsire finds great use in this tier thanks to its ability to check a plethora of physical attackers while being able to use its Unaware ability to ignore stat boots from sweepers such as Swords Dance Silvally formes and Toxicroak. Scald is easy to use and hard to punish thanks to the burn chance on physical attackers like Gourgeist-S and Flapple. Toxic allows Quagsire to wear down some of its common switch-ins such as Drampa and Eldegoss. Alternatively, Curse turns Quagsire into a potential wincon on teams at the expense of a worse matchup versus common switch-ins like Gourgeist-S and Flapple. Another option is to have Rocky Helmet on Quagsire instead of Leftovers to chip down contact move spammers such as Silvally-Dark, Togedemaru, and Sawk at the expense of being pressured to recover more often.
Quagsire's defensive capabilities make it very effective on non-offense builds. It works nicely alongside Pokemon like Clefairy and Flareon that can help check strong special attackers like Abomasnow, Rotom-F, and Indeedee-F. These two, as well as specially defensive Togedemaru, also provide Wish support, which helps Quagsire pivot in more easily. Pokemon like Eldegoss and Drampa can help to pivot into Grass-type attacks such as Grass Pledge from Silvally-Fire and Power Whip from Gourgeist-S. Rotom-S is another option to help check Nasty Plot Toxicroak while also providing entry hazard control for your team.
