Quagsire finds great use in this tier thanks to its ability to check a plethora of physical attackers while being able to use its Unaware ability to ignore stat boots from sweepers such as Swords Dance Silvally formes and Toxicroak. Scald is easy to use and hard to punish thanks to the burn chance on physical attackers like Gourgeist-S and Flapple. Toxic allows Quagsire to wear down some of its common switch-ins such as Drampa and Eldegoss. Alternatively, Curse turns Quagsire into a potential wincon on teams at the expense of a worse matchup versus common switch-ins like Gourgeist-S and Flapple. Another option is to have Rocky Helmet on Quagsire instead of Leftovers to chip down contact move spammers such as Silvally-Dark, Togedemaru, and Sawk at the expense of being pressured to recover more often.

Quagsire's defensive capabilities make it very effective on non-offense builds. It works nicely alongside Pokemon like Clefairy and Flareon that can help check strong special attackers like Abomasnow, Rotom-F, and Indeedee-F. These two, as well as specially defensive Togedemaru, also provide Wish support, which helps Quagsire pivot in more easily. Pokemon like Eldegoss and Drampa can help to pivot into Grass-type attacks such as Grass Pledge from Silvally-Fire and Power Whip from Gourgeist-S. Rotom-S is another option to help check Nasty Plot Toxicroak while also providing entry hazard control for your team.

Quagsire finds great use in this tier thanks to its ability to check a plethora of physical attackers while being able to use its unaware Unaware ability to ignore stat boots from sweepers such as swords dance Silvally Swords Dance Silvally formes and Toxicroak (may as well give another option of a potentially hard-to-check setup Pokemon). Another option is to run water absorb to better take on Arctovish. (nah, Arctovish isn't too prominent, and realistically Quagsire's niche revolves entirely around Unaware. Maybe on stall builds that go Pyukumuku + Quagsire I could see Water Absorb? But that feels too niche to bother addressing in a preview-length analysis) Scald is a strong option on Quagsire to hit ground types for super effective damage such as Sandaconda and Piloswine for the immediate damage while having a 30% chance to burn your target to get burn chip every turn or cripple their physical attacker. (this sentence is far too long lol, just say something like Scald is spammable and hard to punish thanks to the burn chance and mention a couple Pokemon that may try to directly switch into Quagsire that dislike being burned, such as Gourgeist-S) Earthquake allows Quagsire to target electric types such as Togedemaru and Lanturn for a considerable amount of damage while hitting fire types such as Silvally-Fire and Flareon for a lot more damage than scald. Recover allows Quagsire to complete its role as a solid defensive wall that increases its longevity and keeps it as an everlasting presence in battle. (these two sentences are fluff) <add a sentence about Toxic><add a sentence about how Curse lets Quagsire be a potential wincon on teams at the expense of greater passivity><add a sentence about Rocky Helmet as an item alternative to punish U-turn users but how it means Quagsire is forced into recovering more often>

Quagsire's defensive capabilities make it very effective on non-offense builds. It works nicely alongside Pokemon like Clefairy that can help check grass pledge Silvally or a specially defensive wall such as Clefairy to sponge special hits from Abomasnow and Indeedee barring psyshock while also having access to aromatherapy in case Quagsire to shake off a toxic strong special attackers like Abomasnow, Rotom-F, and Indeedee-F. (Clefairy doesn't really have the moveslots to justify Aromatherapy) Pokemon like Eldegoss and Drampa can help to pivot into grass type Grass-type attacks such as grass pledge Grass Pledge from Silvally-Fire (this is really the only one that somewhat frequently uses Grass Pledge) or a power whip Power Whip from Gourgeist-S. Rotom-Fan Rotom-S is another option to help check nasty plot Nasty Plot Toxicroak while also providing entry hazard control for your team.

Quagsire finds great use in this tier thanks to its ability to check a plethora of physical attackers while being able to use its Unaware ability to ignore stat boots from sweepers such as Swords Dance Silvally formes and Toxicroak, as well as Calm Mind Alcremie (my comment was about me adding Toxicroak there oops, also this example isn't the best because sometimes Alcremie runs Stored Power). Scald is easy to click use and hard to punish thanks to the burn chance on physical attackers like Gourgeist-S and Flapple. Toxic allows Quagsire to wear down some of its common switches such as Drampa and Eldegoss. Curse turns Quagsire into a potential wincon on teams at the expense of more passivity vs its common switches said earlier a worse matchup versus common switch-ins like Ferroseed and Flapple. Another option is to have Rocky Helmet on Quagsire to chip down contact move(remove hyphen) spammers such as Silvally-Dark, Togedemaru, and Sawk at the expense of being pressured to recover more often.

Quagsire's defensive capabilities make it very effective on non-offense builds. It works nicely alongside Pokemon like Clefairy and Flareon (this mon sucks but I guess it fits on similar teams that Quagsire does, plus it supplies Wish support) that can help check strong special attackers like Abomasnow, Rotom-F, and Indeedee-F. Pokemon like Eldegoss and Drampa can help to pivot into Grass-type attacks such as Grass Pledge from Silvally-Fire or and Power Whip from Gourgeist-S. Rotom-S is another option to help check Nasty Plot Toxicroak while also providing entry hazard control for your team.
