[OVERVIEW]
- powerful breaker with sd and mold breaker. z-eq allows it to destroy its traditional checks like aroma, steelix, and rhydon
- good coverage in stone edge and eq to remove defensive staples such as golbat and steelix
- mediocre speed so easily taken advantage of by gay pokemon such as meloetta, sigiliyph, and houndoom
- poor special bulk meaning it cant actually come in on the grasses it supposedly "checks"
- combine this weakness to rocks, pinsir will rarely sweep and can be put in awkward scenarios where it will have to click sd often to get any leverage (comparitevely weak to other breakers in the tier like meloetta and machamp unboosted), possibly inviting a faster dangerous attacker to come in hard and take advantage, such as virizion and houndoom.

Moves
========
- sd boosts pinsir's attack to high levels, allowing it to destroy almost every defensive core in the tier.
- x-scissors is general stab that hits very hard and deals with slowbro and uxie.
- z-eq blows back rhydon, weezing, jellicent, and steelix at +2. tect nice for fairies as well such as aroma and granbull, doing massive damage. also nails garbodor and rotom.
- regular eq is nice for rk'ing toxicroak and high chance KO against non-scarf emboar after rocks
- edge hits golbat and braviary; cool for faster flying-types on switch that want to switch in predicting sd: vivillon, zard,
- stealth rock is an option over stone edge to get rocks on xatu at the cost of hitting golbat and flyings on the switch.
Set Details
========
- mold breaker is necessary to break unaware users such as pyuku and quag with sd and weezing levitate. also bypasses lix sturdy which makes it very scary.
- jolly to be as fast as possible. no reason to use adamant when it doesnt do anything relevant.
- max / max to hit as hard and be as fast as possible
- groundium z to get tectonic rage to destroy rly bulky rocks and steels in the tier. x-scissors/eq into z-eq handles many of the bulky fairies in the tier, along with unaware pyuku and quag. nice for jellicent as well.
- dont waste zmove for no reason. pokemon such as gardbodor can be knocked out by a regular +2 eq for example.
Usage Tips
========
- pinsir should avoid to take any damage when coming in due to its general frailty. better off setting up on passive pokemon in spiritomb, lix, uxie, or a locked mons such as sceptile and knock drapion
- u may have to predict against offense because ppl will make the more offensive play instead of going into the obvious rhydon that loses. in these scenarios, straight up attack on predict if u believe they will risk.
- pinsir will want to keep its health as much as possible in order to tank hits from pokemon such as granbull and have more turns if its put on a timer with toxic
- against offensive teams, focus on attacking if u come in instead of setting up
Team Options
========
- hazard control: skunk, hitmonlee, cryo, golbat, xatu
- pinsir is a good filler options on veil teams
- great on webs
- physical attackers for overload: sneasel, hitmonlee, virizion, absol, tauros, etc.
- whimisicott is nice since it can memento and also tailwind.
- fightings appreciate pinsir's ability to lure and ko annoying poisons, jellicent, and fairies: hitmonlee (which can spin too) and scarf medicham r nice
- paralysis spreaders such as xatu and uxie and vilplume to make pinsir more threatening
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
- cc seems hot but inferior outside of hitting ferroseed. eq and edge are hard to pass up since they hit more relevant mons such as rotom,
- sd moxie with quick attack
- knock off for gourgeist xl & jellicent and item removal in general
- scarf moxie seems appealing but has weak initial and low bp moves means it will rarely sweep. also its speed tier is slower than other scarfers like rotom and vanilluxe.
Checks and Counters
===================
faster attackers: meloetta, scarf emboar, houndoom, virizion, sigiliyph, sneasel, etc.
ghost-types: can check it if pinsir is not at +2. jelly and spirittomb land wisps. regular rotom and mismagius (rotom has to watch out for eq mold) can check it. however all of these have to watch out for a boosted rage if weakened. gourg xl is hard counter however.
flying types: . bravart and golbat shit on unboosted pinsir. vivillon outpseed and removes it. scyther, zard, and dodrio. have to watch out for edges on switch thougj.
fairy-types: same as above. arommatise can be set up fodder but it does quite a bit with moonblast. granbull is a counter actually.
