Gen 7 Nightmare Fuel [USUM AG]

Nightmare Fuel
s/o Frito for the name
:(SM)/(Sableye)::(SM)/(Sableye)::(SM)/(Gengar-Mega)::(SM)/(Darkrai)::(SM)/(Darkrai)::(SM)/(Darkrai):

Teambuilding:
:(Sableye):
Sableye @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Taunt
- Gravity
- Magic Coat
- Rock Tomb

When coming up with this team, I wanted a lead that could effectively set up gravity and keep hazards off the field, and Sableye fit this role perfectly. Prankster allows for +1 priority taunt, which stops your opponent from getting hazards on the field and also helps with getting gravity set. Magic coat is great if you think your opponent will set up hazards and has the potential to give a huge lead. Rock tomb slows Marshadow down, which is extremely helpful as it speed ties with Darkrai and can OHKO Gengar with shadow sneak. 248 HP and 252+ Defense allows Sableye to tank a spectral thief and shadow sneak from Marshadow so I can taunt/rock tomb and still set up gravity.

:(Sableye):
Sableye @ Lagging Tail
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Trick
- Rock Tomb/Taunt
- Foul Play
- Gravity

When testing earlier versions of the team, it was clear that having only one gravity setter just wasn't enough so I decided to add another Sableye as support. Tricking lagging tail slows down anything that outspeeds Darkrai and Gengar, such as choice scarf Rayquaza and geomancy boosted Xerneas. Foul play chunks Marshadow and offensive Dusk-Mane and dark pulse/hex can finish them off. Foul play also helps with the Ekiller matchup as Sableye tanks a +2 life orb earthquake easily. Gravity is a no-brainer, as my team revolves around the 1.67 accuracy boost it gives.

:(Gengar-Mega):
Gengar-Mega @ Gengarite
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hypnosis
- Substitute
- Hex
- Sludge Wave

Mega Gengar is a great abuser of hypnosis and can 2hko most of the metagame with a boosted hex while also trapping your opponent, which is why it was banned from Ubers. Hypnosis and hex are standard and substitute helps protect against first turn wake ups and allows you to use another accurate hypnosis as gravity lasts 5 turns. I chose sludge wave over sludge bomb to 2hko Yveltal and do a bit of extra damage to everything else. Sludge bomb also has a 30% chance to poison, which could mess with my sleep setup.

:(Darkrai):
Darkrai @ Leftovers
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Double Team
- Hypnosis
- Substitute
- Dark Pulse

This set looks like meme trash at first, but hear me out. The combo of hypnosis, double team, and substitute allows me to cheese out wins against certain teams. With gravity, it isn't unlikely to get to +6 evasion with the combination of hypnosis and substitute. Against teams with no phazing moves, it is extremely unlikely for your opponent to stop you once you get set up. I chose dark pulse as my last move as it is boosted by STAB and utilizes Darkrai's impressive 135 base special attack. (getting that 20% flinch is also amazing)

Evasion Chart
This is in case anyone makes false accusations of hax.
+1 = 75% chance to hit = Sleep Powder hits
+2 = 60% chance to hit = Hypnosis hits
+3 = 50% chance to hit = You win a speed tie
+4 = 43% chance to hit ≈ Hypnosis misses
+5 = 37.5% chance to hit
+6 = 33.3% chance to hit = Protect works twice in a row

:(Darkrai):
Darkrai @ Psychium Z
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hypnosis
- Sludge Bomb
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse

This Darkrai is honestly the star of my team, as Z-Hypnosis gives +1 speed, which allows me to outspeed Ultra Necrozma and scarf Rayquaza. Same concept as before, set up gravity with Sableye and use Z-Hypnosis to boost speed and nasty plot to boost special attack. 252 speed allows Darkrai to outspeed max speed Arceus formes and 252 special attack is to maximize damage. I chose sludge bomb as my last move as it allows Darkrai to hit fairy and dark types hard as dark pulse is resisted by both.

Darkrai @ Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hypnosis
- Substitute/Sludge Bomb
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse

For my last slot, I added another nasty plot Darkrai as a secondary sweeper to clean up in case Psychium Z Darkrai didn't get through everything. Personally, I like using the leftovers and substitute set because it gives me a much better matchup vs stall with leftovers recovery and substitute to block toxic. Life orb Darkrai still works phenomenally though, and the boost in damage allows it to OHKO Fairyceus, MRay and SpD Dusk-Mane after a nasty plot boost. Life orb recoil isn't ideal though, and sometimes Darkrai can only get 1 or 2 kills before being revenged by priority users like Ekiller.

Threatlist:
:(SM)/(Rayquaza-Mega):
Scarf Rayquaza is a huge problem and sweeps my entire team unless trick Sableye is alive. Band and life orb variants are much easier to deal with as you can usually revenge kill with Gengar.

:(SM)/(Mewtwo-Mega-Y):
Just ff. Mega Mewtwo Y completely shuts down my team because of insomnia plus the fact that it can outspeed and OHKO Darkrai and Mega Gengar. Tricking lagging tail doesn't work either so the only way to win is if they don't have/miss focus blast.

:(SM)/(Arceus):
Ekiller is manageable with Sableye and Gengar, but it can still sweep if you aren't careful.

:(SM)/(Marshadow):
Marshadow can OHKO Gengar and ties with Darkrai so use Sableye to trick lagging tail or foul play it.
