Pet Mod Micrometa Mafia: A Clean Slate Spinoff (Slate 5: Setup Sweeper, Stallbreaker, Choice Scarf User, Priority User)

Cookie Butter

formerly the someone
I'm pretty new at making match-up charts so if you think any of them are wrong, let me know. Here are the subs:

:ss/linoone:
Name of the Pokemon: Linoone
Role(s): Priority Abuser, Set-Up Sweeper (Nasty Plot), Electric Terrain Abuser
Type: Normal/Ground
Abilities: Prankster / Quick Feet
Stat Distribution: 79/50/61/90/101/119 (500)
Movepool Additions: Nature Power, Earth Power, Nasty Plot
Movepool Removals: Belly Drum
Justification: Linoone is a tried-and-true priority abuser, now specially oriented (Prankster + Nature Power turns into STAB Tri-Attack, same BP as E-Speed). It's also the long awaited offensive check to Salazzle. If we ever get an Electric Terrain setter, it works as an abuser too because of how Nature Power works (and Linoone is immune to Electric, and can hit defensive Elecs with STAB Earth Power).
1633632349920.png

EDIT: anaconja pointed out to me that Linoone is a check to Salazzle and Pincurchin instead of a counter, and Latios is a check to Linoone instead of a counter.

:ss/corsola-galar:
Name of the Pokemon: Corsola-Galar (Not Eviolite Compatible)
Role(s): Choice Scarf, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock)
Type: Psychic/Ghost
Abilities: Trace / Psychic Surge / Natural Cure
Stat Distribution: 75/85/55/100/95/90 (500)
Movepool Additions: Psyshock
Movepool Removals: Giga Drain, Strength Sap
Justification: Scarfer that doesn't care about priority. Corsola-Galar revenge-kills offensive threats such as Salazzle and Adamant Alolash with its STABs+fair amount of coverage. Ghost STAB makes it hard for defensive pivots such as Regice and Slowbro-Galar to come in, hopefully forcing the foe to stay in and be revenge-killed. Scarf and Psychic Terrain combined give it a better match-up against Honchkrow, preventing it from being outsped (Honch has 91 Speed) and preventing Sucker. I decided to not give it pivotting because Psychic Surge is amazing as is (see Scarf Tapu Lele). It seems really good right now, but that's because we have a ton of Ghost/Psychic-weak mons and few Dark/Normal-types, which will inevitably be added.
1633632320850.png

:ss/shedinja:
Name of the Pokemon: Shedinja
Role(s): Stallbreaker, Mixed Wall
Type: Steel/Ghost
Abilities: Filter / Shield Dust / Pressure
Stat Distribution: 101/120/86/50/86/52 (495) (Note: 1 HP Shedinja hardcode removed)
Movepool Additions: Taunt, Spirit Shackle, Steel Wing, Leech Seed, Heal Bell
Justification: Despite a meh trapping move (no damage-over-time like Tran's Magma Storm), Shedinja has high attack combined with Taunt, SD and Leech Seed, making it a solid stallbreaker. With meh speed, meh Steel STAB options and a meh coverage option (Bug only), Shedinja is really only capable of stallbreaking, not wallbreaking. As for abilities, Shield Dust stops Scald/Sands/Poison Touch hax, Pressure can PP stall, and Filter is a generally good ability, especially against Regice/Sableye/etc.
1633614418303.png

:ss/gyarados:
Name of the Pokemon: Gyarados
Role(s): Set-Up Sweeper (Dragon Dance), Hazard Removal (Rapid Spin)
Type: Water/Normal
Abilities: Bulletproof / Moxie / Intimidate
Stat Distribution: 80/95/80/65/85/90 (495)
Movepool Additions: V-Create, Rapid Spin
Movepool Removals: Power Whip, Taunt
Custom Elements: V-Create becomes a Fire-type Power Whip clone.
Justification: Gyarados resists both of Alolash's STABs and has the bulk to tank them easily and hit back. It also resists both of Regice's STABs, so Gyara can switch in and threaten it with unboosted V-Creates, or set-up (though Regice can use Tbolt to deal some good damage before the 2HKO/OHKO). Gyarados has some interesting coverage and all the strong Normal moves like Body Slam, Facade, Thrash and Double-Edge. STAB Rapid Spin is useful too. Power Whip was removed so it doesn't break Gastrodon easily, and Taunt too so it doesn't pressure defensive mons too hard. Gets revenge-killed by Scarf Dedenne/Shiftry/Latios even at +1 though.
1633638596099.png

EDIT: added Fire coverage so Klefki is now checked by it instead of being a check.

:ss/cinderace:
Name of the Pokémon: Cinderace
Role(s): Stallbreaker, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Remover
Type:

Abilities: Blaze / Mold Breaker / Levitate
Stat Distribution: 80 / 96 / 85 / 70 / 85 / 109 (525 BST)
Movepool Additions: Recover, Drain Punch, Toxic, Shadow Claw, Will-O-Wisp, Refresh
Movepool Removals: High Jump Kick
Custom Elements: Pyro Ball - Now a Fire-type Energy Ball clone with a chance to burn instead of lowering SpD, Refresh - Undexited
Justification: Cinderace is like the old Cinderace but cooler. With decent bulk for its Speed tier, good 96 Attack, and the 4th highest Speed in the meta, Cinderace functions kinda like Stallbreaker Mega Pidgeot. It Bulk Up a bunch, heals status with Refresh, stays healthy with Recover, and then sweeps through by spamming Pyro Balls. Cinderace also does a bunch of other things, namely Court Changing hazards, Taunting things, and being an offensive pivot, but it's definitely a premier stallbreaker.

:ss/sirfetchd:
Name of the Pokémon: Sirfetch'd
Role(s): Priority User, Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper
Type:

Abilities: Steadfast / Scrappy
Stat Distribution: 62 / 125 / 100 / 68 / 97 / 55 (507 BST)
Movepool Additions: Lunge, Toxic, Bullet Punch
Movepool Removals: N/A
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: This is literally Sirfetch'd but Bug and it's good. An absolute pain to switch into considering its massive 125 Attack stat and STAB on First Impression makes it one of the scariest moves in the metagame for a turn, plus it has other options like Defog, Swords Dance, Taunt + Toxic, and more. However, it's super one note and after that first turn it's out, it becomes a lot less scary. Also, Salazzle and Skarmory exist.

:ss/kangaskhan:
Name of the Pokémon: Kangaskhan
Role(s): Choice Scarf, Offensive Pivot, Cleric
Type:

Abilities: Early Bird / Scrappy / Inner Focus
Stat Distribution: 115 / 105 / 80 / 40 / 80 / 90 (510 BST)
Movepool Additions: Healing Wish, Jump Kick, U-Turn, Stone Edge
Movepool Removals: N/A
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: So I decided to dex search everything with 90 Speed, since Scarf + 90 Speed Jolly outspeeds Adamant Sandslash in Hail, found Kangaskhan, gave it a move that OHKOs Sandslash in Jump Kick, Healing Wish for fast Cleric-ness, and U-Turn to pivot, and went with it. Scarf Kanga also annoys Honchkrow, Salazzle, and Dedenne, since it's bulky enough to switch into them once or twice and can OHKO the latter two. However, it's fairly prediction reliant and pretty weak, so it's easy to wall.

:ss/kingdra:
Name of the Pokémon: Kingdra
Role(s): Setup Sweeper
Type:

Abilities: Defiant / Super Luck / Damp
Stat Distribution: 75 / 95 / 95 / 85 / 95 / 95 (540 BST)
Movepool Additions: Dragon Hammer, Dark Pulse, Icicle Crash, Drill Run
Movepool Removals: Flip Turn
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: This is Kingdra, but instead of being a Rain sweeper, it's either a physical sweeper with Dragon Dance/Liquidation/Icicle Crash/Drill Run or Dragon Hammer, or you run CritDra with Focus Energy/Hydro Pump/Draco Meteor/Dark Pulse. Defiant and Super Luck respectively help with this. But, like the old Kingdra, before any boosts, it's just kinda weak. Also, Freeze-Dry Articuno, Salazzle, and Dedenne all eat it for breakfast.
Largely depends on the set, but Kingdra always struggles with Salazzle, Dedenne, Articuno, and Klefki before setting up

:ss/tapu-lele:
Name of the Pokemon: Tapu Lele
Role(s): Set-up Sweeper (Quiver Dance), Special Wallbreaker
Type: Psychic/Bug
Abilities: Compound Eyes / Shield Dust / Swarm (HA)
Stat Distribution: 70/85/75/100/105/85 (520)
Movepool Additions: Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz
Movepool Removals: All Fairy-type moves
Justification: Tapu Lele looses its trait mark Psychic Surge, but now gets Quiver Dance which makes it dangerous when left unchecked. Compound Eye makes its Focus Blast hit more often, while Shield Dust can be used to counter Discharge paralysis or Scald burn attempts. Psychic, Bug and Focus Blast have good coverage but it can use moves like Thunder or Thunderbolt, if it needs to.

:ss/tyranitar:
Name of the Pokemon: Tyranitar
Role(s): Stallbreaker, Offensive Tank, Hazard Setter
Type: Poison/Ground
Abilities: Neutralizing Gas
Stat Distribution: 100/124/80/95/80/71 (550)
Movepool Additions: Shore Up
Movepool Removals: Dragon Dance, All Dark-type moves except Taunt
Justification: Tyranitar has a good defensive typing and Shore Up to keep itself healthy. It has bad defenses, but it is enough to beat defensive teams, which struggle against Ttar because of its ability Neutralizing Gas that nullifes the ability of defensive Pokemon. This means that stuff like Regenerator, Levitate and Poison Heal loose their effectiveness, thus allowing Ttar to hurt those Pokemon.

:ss/type-null:
Name of the Pokemon: Type: Null (Can hold Eviolite)
Role(s): Priority User, Offensive Tank
Type: Normal
Abilities: Adaptability
Stat Distribution: 100/85/75/60/75/85(490)
Movepool Additions: Extreme Speed, Recover
Movepool Removals: -
Justification: Adaptability Extreme Speed is really strong and Type: Null can make itself even stronger with Swords Dance. Earthquake gives it good coveraeg and Recover keeps it healthy and goes really well with its Eviolite boosted bulk.

:ss/vigoroth:
Name of the Pokemon: Vigoroth (can't hold Eviolite)
Role(s): Choice Scarfer, Physical Wallbreaker
Type: Fighting/Grass
Abilities: Comatose / Tough Claws / Gorilla Tactics (HA)
Stat Distribution: 80/80/80/65/65/100 (470)
Movepool Additions: Close Combat, Wood Hammer, U-turn, Seed Bomb, Power Whip, Drain Punch
Movepool Removals: -
Justification: Vigoroth has a good offensive typing and speed tier. Gorilla Tactics and Tough Claws make up for its bad attacking stat, thus allowing it justify running a Choice Scarf. It has a colourful movepool with its STABs, elemental punches and U-turn.

Name of the Pokemon: Naganadel
Role(s): Setup Sweeper
Type:
Grass/Poison
Abilities: Liquid Ooze
Stat Distribution: 73/73/73/127/73/113 (532)
Movepool Additions:
Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Leaf Storm
Movepool Removals: Flamethrower, Fire Blast
Justification: I don't want this being overly fast but here's a pretty strong breaker. It hates Klefki and doesn't do great with Regice-Saboteur but does well against most other things, especially Gastrodon. Also I made its Speed prime again c:

Name of the Pokemon: Gourgeist-Small
Role(s): Stallbreaker
Type:
Fire/Ghost
Abilities: Pressure / Frisk / Insectivore
Stat Distribution: 75/85/122/58/75/99 (514)
Movepool Additions:
Fire Punch, Flare Blitz, Taunt, Spirit Shackle, Refresh (Not dexited anymore - I was about to do Jungle Healing here until I saw Yoshiblaze do this, I had no idea if this was legal lol)
Movepool Removals: All Grass-type moves except Synthesis
Custom Elements: Insectivore - The user is immune to Bug-type moves.
Justification: U-Turn immunity, trapping, and Spirit Shackle should make this a decent stallbreaker. Its other abilities are announced when it comes in so you know when you're dealing with that, but Pressure is an option too. It's too weak to do much to Gastrodon, and it also hates its STAB moves and gets Flip Turned on.

Name of the Pokemon: Lycanroc
Role(s): Choice Scarf User
Type:
Rock
Abilities: Keen Eye / Dazzling / Steadfast
Stat Distribution:
75/125/65/55/65/108 (493)
Movepool Additions:
U-Turn
Movepool Removals: Swords Dance
Justification: A pretty simple change, but Dazzling and U-Turn should make this a pretty good Scarfer. 108 underspeeds Latios but Dazzling should be pretty nice to make up for it, and it does have Accelerock for things that are faster than it. Struggles with Klefki and Gastrodon.

Name of the Pokemon: Magearna
Role(s): Priority User
Type:
Steel
Abilities: Prankster
Stat Distribution: 200/100/125/100/125/50 (700)
Movepool Additions: Metronome
Movepool Removals: After You, Agility, Aura Sphere, Aurora Beam, Baton Pass, Brick Break, Calm Mind, Charge Beam, Confide, Crafty Shield, Dazzling Gleam, Defense Curl, Double Team, Draining Kiss, Echoed Voice, Eerie Impulse, Electro Ball, Electroweb, Embargo, Encore, Endure, Energy Ball, Explosion, False Swipe, Flash Cannon, Fleur Cannon, Focus Blast, Frustration, Gear Up, Giga Impact, Grass Knot, Guard Swap, Gyro Ball, Heal Bell, Heart Swap, Helping Hand, Hidden Power, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Imprison, Iron Defense, Iron Head, Last Resort, Light Screen, Lucky Chant, Magnet Rise, Mind Reader, Mirror Shot, Misty Explosion, Pain Split, Power Swap, Protect, Psybeam, Reflect, Rest, Return, Rollout, Round, Self-Destruct, Shadow Ball, Shift Gear, Shock Wave, Signal Beam, Snore, Solar Beam, Sonic Boom, Speed Swap, Steel Beam, Steel Roller, Stored Power, Substitute, Swagger, Synchronoise, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Tri Attack, Trick, Trick Room, Trump Card, Volt Switch, Zap Cannon, Zen Headbutt
Justification: Sussie

:ss/Cobalion:
Name of the Pokemon:Cobalion
Role(s):Choice Scarfer
Type:Steel/Fighting
Abilities:Justified
Stat Distribution:90/105/109/70/70/90
Movepool Additions:Earthquake
Movepool Removals:Nada
Justification:Scarfer that you don't really want to Knock because now you have this thing running around at +1.Has Volt Switch to pivot out of unfavorable switch-ins.

Toxtricity
Roles: Setup Sweeper, Wallbreaker
Type: Electric/Dark
Ability: Contrary
Stats: 75/88/73/64/70/120 (Total: 485)
Movepool Additions: Dark Pulse, Superpower, Double Edge
Movepool Removals: Boomburst, Taunt
Custom Element: Overdrive (now an Electric Leaf Storm Clone)
Justification: A different kind of setup, perhaps? Contrary Overdrive quickly allows Toxtricity to grow in power, which in turn allows you to knock down things you face. Superpower can also help on the physical side, if you so choose. Lastly, you can add Stored Power as powerful coverage once you reach a sufficiently boosted state, making you a very tough contender if you aren't stopped quickly. Gastrodon (and about any future Ground type) takes on Special sets while Sableye can take on physical sets, and though you can run mixed sets, you're not exactly the most bulky mon around, so any chip you take while setting up can be very dangerous for you.

Eternatus
Roles: Stallbreaker, Wallbreaker
Type: Dragon/Poison
Ability: Abyssal Champion (Immunity to Burn and Freeze, and half damage from Fire type moves)
Stats: 110/85/95/95/90/105 (Total: 580)
Movepool Additions: Core Enforcer, Fire Blast, Taunt
Movepool Removals: Recover, Agility, Meteor Beam
Justification: SBEVE

Haxorus
Roles: Choice Scarf, Wallbreaker
Type: Dragon
Ability: Rivalry/Unnerve/Mold Breaker
Stats: 76/112/80/60/70/87 (Total: 485)
Movepool Additions: U-Turn, Iron Head
Movepool Removals: Dragon Dance, Scale Shot
Justification: It's a simple Scarfer that can forego the Scarf if it wants to do some breaking. However, you're in an awkward Speed tier, so without a speed boosting method you almost certainly won't be sweeping. Pretty much anything that wants to run Speed can outspeed and threaten this when it lacks its Scarf, while when Scarfed, Skarm is a pretty solid counter, and things like Klefki can dance around it depending on its move that it locks into.

Marshadow
Roles: Priority User
Type: Ghost/Fighting
Ability: Technician
Stats: 90/105/75/60/75/115 (Total: 520)
Movepool Additions: Mach Punch
Movepool Removals: Close Combat, Superpower, Spectral Thief
Justification: Our good old shadow friend is here. With STABs that hit just about everything for neutral, Marsh can run some unique options with just its STAB moves. With its strongest Fighting options and Spectral removed, its best bet for main STABs is Poltergeist and Force Palm. Meanwhile, it can run Mach Punch and Shadow Sneak as its priority options, with Mach Punch allowing it to threaten Sandslash, even in Hail. You can also run Bulk Up, which works well with Shadow Sneak on board, since you can use it to hit the faster Salazzle. Skarmory and Sableye are pretty good for taking on Marshadow defensively, while Salazzle and Articuno threaten it offensively.

:ss/regieleki:
Name of the Pokemon: Regieleki
Role(s): Stallbreaker, Offensive Pivot
Type: Electric / Fire
Abilities: Flash Fire / Static
Stat Distribution: 75/115/80/70/110/85 | 535
Movepool Additions: Flip Turn, Fire Lash, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Will O Wisp, Solar Beam, Pain Split, Fire Punch, Taunt
Movepool Removals: Extreme Speed, Explosion, Ancient Power
Custom Elements: Thunder Cage - Physical, makes contact
Justification: New take on stallbreaking: set-down. Basically, you use Thunder Cage to trap your opponent and then use Fire Lash's defense drops to continually break your opponent's defenses down (before inevitably KO'ing them, of course). Beats Regice and Sableye, but loses to Pinurchin and Gastrodon (though Solar Beam is a niche option for the latter).

:ss/steelix:
Name of the Pokemon: Steelix
Role(s): Set Up sweeper (Coil, DDance)
Type: Steel / Ground
Abilities: Sturdy / Beast Boost / Weak Armor
Stat Distribution: 85/105/120/70/73/69 | 522
Movepool Additions: Coil
Movepool Removals: SR
Justification: Dragon Dance is finally viable on Steelix. You can also run Coil in tandem with Weak Armor, which also works well too.

:ss/zygarde-10:
Name of the Pokemon: Zygarde-10%
Role(s): Priority
Type: Ground / Dragon
Abilities: Aura Break / Solid Rock | Frisk
Stat Distribution: 54/100/71/61/85/115
Movepool Additions: N/A
Movepool Removals: Dragon Dance, Coil, Toxic
Justification: Zydog uses its speed and access to priority to be an extremely efficient revenge killer. It can revenge dangerous threats such as Dedenne while CB Extreme Speed snipes mons such as Articuno and Salazzle

:ss/crobat:
Name of the Pokemon: Crobat
Role(s): Choice Scarf
Type: Poison / Ghost
Abilities: Inner Focus / Cursed Body | Infiltrator
Stat Distribution: 80/100/71/101/81/100
Movepool Additions: Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Shadow Claw, Flying Press, Trick, Shadow Bone
Movepool Removals: Brave Bird, Hurricane, Air Slash, Defog, Feather Dance
Justification: Serves its role as a Choice Scarfer by utilizing its speed tier to revenge kill various threats in this meta. Is no longer a Flying-type (so no Flying-types moves for you), but Flying Press snipes Alolaslash, as you outspeed it at +2.

Ngl, Grimmsnarl and Magcargo are a bit filler and the only sub I care about this round is Drednaw. I can completely understand not wanting to vote for most of these.

:ss/grimmsnarl:
Name of the Pokemon: Grimmsnarl
Role(s): Priority User, Physical Wallbreaker
Type: Dark/Fairy
Abilities: Pixilate/Frisk/(Pickpocket)
Stat Distribution: 90/100/80/60/70/70 (470 BST)
Movepool Additions: None
Movepool Removals: Bulk Up
Justification: Uses Pixilate Fake out+Sucker Punch to try and take out offensive mons. Its coverage is also pretty great making it solid at wallbreaking despite its low-ish attack. Its stabs don't really hit any offensive mons rn though which is a shame.

:dp/nincada:
Name of the Pokemon: Nincada (Not evio compatible)
Role(s): Offensive Pivot, Scarfer, Late-Game Cleaner, Stealth Rock Setter
Type: Bug/Ground
Abilities: Compound Eyes/(Moxie)
Stat Distribution: 65/120/90/40/80/90 (485 BST)
Movepool Additions: Earthquake, Megahorn, Stealth Rock, U-Turn
Movepool Removals: No
Justification: Ground+Bug coverage is very solid except against flying types which Nincada cannot hit. It has 2 ability choices, first one is Compound Eyes to make Megahorn more consistent. The second is Moxie which allows it to clean late-game especially with its good attack and scarf. Besides that, it'll mostly just spam fast U-turns

:ss/drednaw:
Name of the Pokemon: Drednaw
Role(s): Stallbreaker, Physical Wallbreaker
Type: Water/Rock
Abilities: Shell Armor/(Mold Breaker)
Stat Distribution: 80/120/75/50/100/75 (500 BST)
Movepool Additions: Taunt
Movepool Removals: Swords Dance
Custom Elements: Jaw Lock: Physical rock type Thunder Cage clone
Justification: Partly inspired by Heatran. Jaw Lock is a strong stab that traps and deals residual damage and notably destroys Regice. It also has Taunt to prevent recovery attempts from pokemon like Klefki which could try and stall out trapping turns. Mold Breaker lets it use Taunt and Stealth Rock through Magic Bounce if it wants, though most Regice won't run it. But yeah, Jaw Lock is a pretty tough move to switch into due to the good damage and trapping effect. Your best option against this is Gastrodon, as other walls will die too quickly to kill it themselves. Just like Heatran though, Drednaw will take heavy damage from trapping and killing defensive mons like Pincurchin, meaning it can't just trap and kill all 3 walls on a balance team.

:dp/magcargo:
Name of the Pokemon: Magcargo
Role(s): Setup Sweeper
Type: Fire/Rock
Abilities: Flame Body/Magma Armor/(Unburden)
Stat Distribution: 60/50/90/100/80/60 (440 BST)
Movepool Additions: Meteor Beam, Nasty Plot, Power Gem
Movepool Removals: Recover, Shell Smash
Justification: Unburden Meteor Beam mon. It also has Nasty Plot to boost further. Rock and Fire pair very well with Earth Power, giving Magcargo nearly perfect coverage. However, despite the Meteor Beam spatk boost, Magcargo won't be able to sweep from preview since its base 100 spatk won't be getting past pokemon like Pincurchin from full and 60 speed can be outsped by scarfers and Sandslash-a even after unburden. It also struggles very badly with Gastrodon.

SAVE YOUR VOTES!! Tapler has been eliminated for posting screenshots (apparently the second time was on purpose so rip). If you already voted for Tapler, you may change your votes. This will not affect voting threshold since Tapler already voted.
