Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Sludge Bomb
- Psychic
- Protect
Landorus has gone from hardly used to the third most common Pokemon in this year's edition of SCL. Its excellent base Speed lets it outpace the likes of Urshifu-R, while its Sheer Force-boosted attacks threaten OHKOs on multiple metagame staples such as the aforementioned Urshifu-R, Incineroar, and Diancie. Even the tier's prominent Ground-resisting presence, Rillaboom, gets 2HKOed by Sludge Bomb. Other usual Ground-type checks such as Tapu Fini meet a similar fate. The emergence of Landorus has led to it running Psychic to check opposing Landorus that opt to run moves such as Focus Blast and Substitute. It also 2HKOes Amoonguss through Sitrus Berry, taking another typical Ground-type check off the board. Its immense grip on the metagame has also seen Celesteela shoot up in usage, as it's one of the few foes that can comfortably switch into it. Landorus synergizes well with Urshifu-R offensively, with the latter taking down Porygon2 and Kyurem-B for the former, and together they can overwhelm shared checks such as Rillaboom and Tapu Fini.
