Landorus-T has been a top-tier OU Pokemon since its introduction in BW with its fantastic typing combined with its well-rounded stats and Intimidate. This makes Landorus-T a very solid and versatile Pokemon in the SM OU metagame due to its ability to act as a pivot as well as its potential to act as a devastating wallbreaker.
Landorus-Therian @ Rockium Z / Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Fly
- Stealth Rock / Stone Edge
Landorus-T is most effective in the current metagame as a wallbreaker. A wonderful beneficiary of Z-Moves, it is capable of using both Continental Crash and Supersonic Skystrike effectively. Continental Crash complements Earthquake nicely, forming an EdgeQuake combination, and hits targets like Rotom-W and Skarmory extremely hard. Supersonic Skystrike offers a strong STAB option alongside Earthquake and hits bulky Grass-types like Tangrowth that would otherwise present problems for it. Landorus-T also offers role compression, fitting Stealth Rock onto its moveset rather easily.
Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 28 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power Ice / Knock Off
- U-turn
This is the most common set for Landorus-T. This is a defensive Stealth Rock setter set that utilizes Landorus-T's defensive capabilities, which are bolstered by Intimidate. Stealth Rock provides team support through chip damage. Hidden Power Ice deals with Zygarde, Garchomp, and opposing Landorus-T. Knock Off is an alternative utility option; it can remove items and weaken common checks upon switch in. Toxic can hemper Rotom-W, Tangrowth, and opposing Landorus-T. U-turn allows Landorus-T gain momentum. Swords Dance is an option to beat threats such as Mega Scizor. Rocky Helmet is the better item option, inflicting chip damage to physical attackers. Leftovers can be used over Rocky Helmet to prevent Landorus-T from getting worn down as easily. The EV spread is standard; 28 EVs in Special Defense allow Landorus-T to live a HP Ice from Tapu Koko, with the remainder being placed in Defense to deal better with Mega Charizard X and Excadrill.
What are you waiting for? Give Landorus-T a try!
