[OVERVIEW]

* Primal Kyogre has two main sets, one possessing a good amount of bulk and checking a decent number of physical attackers and support Pokemon in a tier full of them, and the other being an effective wallbreaker thanks to the combination of base 180 Special Attack, Primordial Sea, and Calm Mind.
* Primal Kyogre's ability to come in on most utility Pokemon gives it a strong presence against bulkier teams.
* Primal Kyogre is difficult for teams to wear down without very strong physical attackers due to its great natural special bulk, decent physical bulk after investment, and utilization of Rest, which makes it a good status absorber.
* Primal Kyogre's Speed stat is merely average, rendering its wallbreaking set outsped by a large number of Pokemon that can easily revenge kill it.
* Primal Groudon's popularity gives Primal Kyogre trouble due to its ability granting it a pseudo-immunity to its Water-type STAB moves and it not taking much from its coverage options. However, Primal Kyogre can override this with its own ability if it comes in on Primal Groudon.
* In spite of this, Primal Kyogre can still be effective by using its bulk and power to repeatedly chip away at Primal Groudon and its teammates.

Moves
========

* Scald burns physical attackers, neutralizes Leftovers recovery, and racks up passive damage. Also, despite a lack of Special Attack investment, it hits like a truck due to Kyogre's natural offensive prowess and the rain boost.
* Ice Beam hits Groudon and Dragon-types like Salamence and Rayquaza.
* Toxic can hit Groudon on teams where the goal is to spread status ailments for Hex Gengar to sweep late-game. Outside of that, it can be used to wear down Groudon more, but generally Ice Beam is better due to the ability to hit the aforementioned Dragon-types.
* Rest is the only form of recovery Kyogre gets.
* Sleep Talk prevents Kyogre from being completely passive while it's asleep.

Set Details
========

* Maximum HP investment is used to improve Kyogre's overall bulk.
* Maximum Defense investment with a Bold nature is used to take on physical attackers better. Kyogre's Special Defense is already higher than what its Defense can reach, so investing in it is somewhat wasting EVs, especially since the most threatening special attacking Pokemon are ones Kyogre can't check that way anyway such as Xerneas, Yveltal, and Mewtwo.
* Blue Orb is necessary to allow Kyogre to become Primal Kyogre, as non-Primal Kyogre is practically useless.

Usage Tips
========

* This Kyogre set comes in on pretty much all support Arceus formes and completely walls them while being a general nuisance. Nothing they can do will really dent this Kyogre.
* This Kyogre set is difficult for balance teams to take down when partnered with something to take the physical hits that are too strong for Kyogre to handle because the rest of the team doesn't have the firepower necessary to 3HKO it reliably.
* Rest is one of Primal Kyogre's most valuable tools when utilized correctly. It allows Kyogre to overcome status conditions and restore its health at the same time, making it an easy switch-in to most support-based Pokemon. However, it should not be used too hastily, or Kyogre will end up sleeping for too much of the game. Kyogre can afford to remain Toxic'd for a few turns to exert pressure before it needs to use Rest.
* Also be careful of clicking Rest if Kyogre is necessary to check something, as if it is asleep you are relying on a 1/3 Sleep Talk roll to check it.
* Because Ferrothorn can check Kyogre quite easily, it is important to have decent hazard control to pair up with Kyogre, and given what little Kyogre can do to Ferrothorn, exploiting obvious switches by double switching into something that can take advantage of Ferrothorn is advised.
* Primal Groudon will switch in on Kyogre a lot. Ice Beam is the best way to chip at it until it is at low HP, but Kyogre's effectiveness is hampered by Groudon's prevalence, and it cannot be as effective until Groudon is KOed.
* Kyogre can easily come in on most utility Pokemon,such as Klefki, Magearna, Solgaleo, Aegislash, Lugia, and Tyranitar. Generally, these Pokemon can't do anything worth mentioning to Kyogre, who can Rest off the status that they inflict if needed.
* Against offensive teams, this set can be a one-time check to one of a few different, powerful setup sweepers. It can survive one hit from the likes of +1 Mega Salamence, offensive Primal Groudon, Extreme Killer, and most Swords Dance Arceus formes that aren't using their Z-Moves on that turn and can try to burn them if they are not weak to Water or Ice or OHKO them otherwise.

Team Options
========

* Primal Groudon appreciates Primal Kyogre covering support Arceus formes. It can also set Stealth Rock, help Primal Kyogre with Pokemon like Geomancy Xerneas that it can't deal with, and also switch into the Water resistant Pokemon that Kyogre cannot deal with decently well.
* Giratina-O is a nice check to Primal Groudon that can alsoremove entry hazards.
Mega Gengar appreciates this Kyogre's set to either burn or toxic most of the tier, and can be a nice partner for a late-game Hex sweep.
* Zygarde-C takes on basically any Physical attacker Kyogre struggles with, and Kyogre in turn takes Ice-type moves for days and can come in on common Arceus formes that try to deal with Zygarde that way. Zygarde also switches in on Groudon with ease.
* Other Primal Groudon switch-ins are appreciated, given how much Primal Kyogre hates it. Examples include Mega Salamence, Arceus-Dragon, Arceus-Ground, and Landorus-T
Clerics like Xerneas and Blissey are nice so that Kyogre doesn't have to sleep for as long.
Pokemon that appreciate Kyogre hard countering support Arceus formes like it as a teammate. Ho-Oh, Dragon Dance Salamence, and hazard setters are good examples of this.

move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Thunder
item: Blue Orb

nature: Modest
evs: 180 HP / 252 SpA / 76 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Origin Pulse is a nuke to any Pokemon that doesn't resist it and is not also called Blissey.
* Calm Mind makes Kyogre a fantastic wallbreaker.
* Ice Beam hits Primal Groudon and the various Dragon-types that run around like Arceus-Dragon, Salamence, and Rayquaza.
* Thunder hits opposing Kyogre and other Water-types like Arceus-Water and Palkia.
* Blizzard can be used over Ice Beam to do more damage to Primal Groudon, but its accuracy issues means Ice Beam is vastly preferred.

Set Details
========

* Blue Orb is required for Kyogre to become Primal Kyogre.
* A Modest nature with maximum Special Attack investment is used tomaximize damage output.
* 76 Speed EVs let Kyogre outspeed uninvested Xerneas and Yveltal, potentially preventing some Geomancy Xerneas variants from setting up and outspeeding Yveltal to minimize damage taken while wallbreaking.
* The rest of the EVs are dumped into HP so Kyogre can survive some hits it otherwise cannot, like offensive Primal Groudon's Precipice Blades and Jolly Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent.
* The Speed investment can be increased to outspeed more of the metagame, but that sacrifices bulk and means Kyogre cannot set up on as much.

Usage Tips
========

* Versus slow teams and playstyles, like quite passive balance and stall teams, Kyogre will be more likely to shine. Once Groudon is sufficiently weakened, which is not difficult due to Groudon's role and prominence as a Stealth Rock setter, Calm Mind Kyogre can destroy teams whose fast Pokemon are Pokemon like support Arceus formes and Lugia.
* Avoid setting up too early. Kyogre is rarely a Pokemon for theearly-game except against teams that it can beat once the Pokemon have racked up about 20% damage.
* Versus offense, Kyogre can be played much more aggressively and used to weaken Groudon for a teammate to win.
* Versus balance teams without multiple Pokemon that resist Water, it can be relatively easy to wear down Primal Groudon into range of a +1 Ice Beam by anticipating it to switch in once or twice and accruing Stealth Rock damage alongside Ice Beam damage.
* Versus balance teams with multiple Water resistant Pokemon, Kyogre will need to be patient and should not be brought out frequently. It should also try and avoid as much passive damage, such as from Stealth Rock, as possible.
* The combination of support Arceus and Primal Groudon struggles to take on Kyogre, as Kyogre can get a free switch on Primal Groudon. Support Arceus cannot do enough to the Kyogre, and +1 Ice Beam will 2HKO most Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock damage. It will 2HKO all Primal Groudon variants if it has taken Stealth Rock damage twice in Primal forme, and has a fantastic chance to 2HKO if it switched into Stealth Rock once before and once after Primal Reversion.
* Dialga gets hit harder by Origin Pulse than it does by Ice Beam or Blizzard.Pokemon resistant to Water are not hit harder by coverage unless they are weak to the coverage move as well.
* In spite of Kyogre's lackluster physical bulk, it does have very nice special bulk and can, in a pinch, take on almost all special attackers without much to fear.
* Kyogre beats almost all Calm Mind Arceus formes, avoiding a 2HKO from a non-super effective Judgment and being able to severely outdamage them after a Calm Mind.
* Similarly, Kyogre cares little about any support Arceus aside from the potential for Toxic, which is influenced by the frequency in which defensive Kyogre will come in on support Arceus formes as well.

Team Options
========

* Xerneas likes Kyogre's ability to wear down Groudon and special walls in general for it to sweep. The same is true in reverse, depending on which of the two has more checks on the opposing team.
* Pokemon like Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and Yveltal are appreciated due to their ability to come in relatively safely on Primal Groudon.
* Primal Groudon, as always, is a good teammate due to setting up Stealth Rock, potentially paralyzing foes, the ability to take on most special walls, and its ability to wear down some Dragon-types that are used to cover both Primals.
* Pokemon that do well versus offense, such as Choice Scarf Lunala, Deoxys-A, Geomancy Xerneas, and Mewtwo, are nice due to it being Kyogre's worst matchup.
* Physically offensive Arceus formes, such as Extreme Killer, Arceus-Ghost, and Arceus-Ground, make good partners due to the offensive wallbreaking coverage.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* A physically offensive set can be fun to see Primal Groudon get 2HKOed by Earthquake and surprises a lot of special walls that would normally take on Kyogre. Unfortunately, it's still reliant on prediction and is also a lot weaker versus various support Arceus formes, which can now wall it comfortably.
* Calm Mind + Rest, forgoing Sleep Talk, can be used to combine the positive aspects of both of these sets. However, it leaves Kyogre completely incapable of doing anything during the two turns it spends asleep, leaving it very passive, which is not a good thing in the current metagame. A mono-attacking set is unviable due to Primal Groudon.
* Choice Scarf is a remnant of past Ubers metagames, but it can occasionally put in work if you can KO Primal Groudon early, as well as get rid of the many Water resistant Pokemon that Kyogre still has to get through. Unfortunately, it's unreliable and highly matchup reliant.
* Hidden Power Ground can be used over Ice Beam if you feel like trading Kyogre's ability to hit all the dangerous Dragon-types in the tier in favour of a one-time-only move to hit Primal Groudon with for not much more damage. Usually, it's not worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon**: Primal Groudon is the main obstacle for Primal Kyogre to overcome. It's on almost every team, deals massive damage with Precipice Blades, is immune to Water type moves by virtue of its ability (although Kyogre can come in on Groudon to set the rain), and has very good bulk to take multiple hits from Kyogre.

**Ferrothorn**: While being incredibly passive, Leech Seed and Power Whip from Ferrothorn can 1v1 just about every Kyogre set.

**Blissey**: Blissey can easily take on anything defensive Kyogre can do to it.Although Blissey can use Toxic on Calm Mind variants, Calm Mind Kyogre can 2HKO Blissey after Stealth Rock damage at +1, so it will merely end up putting Kyogre on a timer.

**Arceus-Water and Arceus-Dragon**: While not checking Kyogre, they provide a backup Pokemon that is resistant to Water such that if Kyogre comes in on Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre cannot just get a kill, and then Groudon can come back in.

**Opposing Primal Kyogre**: Two defensive Kyogre sets in a 1v1 is PP war, and either can be used as a Water resistant Pokem onto pivot into Groudon to reset the weather. Calm Mind Primal Kyogre sets are not bothered unless they face a faster offensive Primal Kyogre, in which case Thunder stings.

**Dialga**: Dialga operates on a similar fashion as the prior two, mostly being a backup Pokemon resistant to Water to pivot with such that Groudon takes minimal damage. Dialga can also set Stealth Rock and do more damage in return though.

**Palkia**: Palkia's new toy in Z-Heal Block can punish the defensive Kyogre set, and while it doesn't like taking on the Calm Mind set because Thunder hurts a lot and can paralyze it, it can normally come in on Kyogre and force it out.

**Zekrom**: Zekrom's STAB Bolt Strike and Water resistance, as well as normally being faster than Kyogre, make it a decent Primal Kyogre answer, although its other flaws prevent it from shining in the current metagame.

**Fast Physical Attackers**: Pokemon like Rayquaza, Salamence, and Lucario can all do a huge chunk to Kyogre, leaving it easily revenge killed. None of them comfortably switch in though, fearing a burn or a potential OHKO from one of Kyogre's moves.

- Add P Ogre itself as a good Water-resist for you to pivot back into P Don in counters IMO
- Is it worth adding Grassceus to the counter list?
- A few other things that you could probably list as good P Don switch-ins for P Ogre - Mega Mence, your own Supportceus (Water/Ground/Dragon), Lando-T, Yveltal
- Personally, I've found that CM P Ogre can be played REALLY aggressively against balance (HO and stall not so much). There are lots of times where you can just bring it in on a free switch vs P Don, CM on the switch and they're really hard pressed to take it out without taking massive damage to a couple of their checks, making a sweep from something else (eg GeoXern) much easier. A simple scenario is basically vs Groudon + Waterceus - you CM on the Waterceus switch-in, and Ice Beam the incoming Groudon to take the Thunder, and they're just fucked, like really fucked.
- So yea, I'm not sure what you mean by "without multiple Water resists" and "with multiple Water resists" - P Don is mandatory, and a pivot is also necessary, so I'm assuming the minimum (ie without) = 2 water resists (including Donner)? This means adding something else for P Ogre feels kind of weird, the only other thing you'd potentially add to that is like a Ferrothorn or something. I don't know.

Grassceus isn't something I feel is relevant enough to be worth mentioning, if QC disagree I'll add it.

Added a note about POgre in the counters section. Also Added the other options for PDon switches, made it different on both sets cause things like Ray dont fit as well with Defensive Kyogre.

Clarified what I meant in Discord chat but basically there are builds running around with Zygarde as the Dragon and an Arceus forme that does not resist water, leaving the only real Kyogre check PDon. EG: PDon Darkceus Zygarde Solgaleo Xern MegaGar. I dont think that these teams are good, but they do exist, and it's probably worth mentioning that if the Kyogre check is only Groudon, CMKyogre can have a field day.

I think it should be added in the overview that an advantage for Kyogre (more specifically the defensive set) is that it is relatively difficult to force out once brought in safely. Grass- and Electric-types are uncommon, defensive PDon is unable to 2HKO it, and strong physical attackers such as Rayquaza and Mega Lucario cannot OHKO it and are OHKOed in return, while more passive mons such as supportceus and Blissey that ogre can't break it can just rest on. Maybe mention in moves in which circumstances specifically Toxic would be preferred over Ice Beam (what does it hit that ice beam doesn't, such as supportceus). imo Calm Mind should be in oo for the defensive set as an option over Sleep Talk, which is extremely effective against stall.

Overview: I feel this should start with the tank line. That is the big characteristic of this mon.

"Kyogre hits harder than anything else on the special side aside from Deoxys-A, and doesn't have the frailty, nor the downside of -2 Special attack that Deo-A does."
Is this really a reasonable comparison? When you start with this, the reader can come to false conclusions. Remove.

"While bulkier than anything with similar Special damage output, Kyogre wishes it was faster than the merely OK base 90 speed."
What does this mean for this mon in specific?

"Alongside this, Primal Groudon is nigh mandatory on every team, so there will always be at least one hard stop to Primal Kyogre."

Don't word it as hard stop, Pdon is a good check, however.
"Can either go relatively bulky or relatively fast, but is incapable of doing both at once, which it would love."
This seems too fluffy. Every mon wishes it could this to an extent. It doesn't add much, remove.

Set 1In details you write "4 in SpA just because it doesn't fit anywhere else." regarding EVs. If you can't explain the purpose of leftover EVs like this, just leave it out.
"NicheSteel6" ???

As for teammates you mention Zygarde, I think I disagree with this but I'll leave it to other QC to decide.

Feels to me as though pretty much the entire overview needs to be reworked. While P Don is important to talk about when discussing P Ogre's place in the tier, you end up not actually saying much about P Ogre itself. The overview also comes off as though P Ogre's existence is invalidated due to the existence of P Don, which isn't really true (true for reg Ogre though). This overview needs to give the reader the impression that although teams have built-in defense against P Ogre due to P Don + water resists, P Ogre can be an effective threat in its own right (and why this is).

In the usage tips of the defensive set, please discuss use of Rest and playing the hazard game. Since Ferro is a strong Ogre check and sets Spikes, there should be some discussion on how a player keeps P Ogre healthy enough to function. Remove Arceus-Water from team options, if you're using Arc Water then idk why you'd use P Ogre. I think #1 teammate suggestion should be Primal Groudon, and then Giratina-O. Mention Calm Mind + Rest set in OO. Move Ferrothorn to #2 spot in C&C since it's pretty much the most solid P Ogre check around.

Implement these and I will stamp.

I think the Overview is still a bit too negative. Primal Kyogre got considerably better in SM due to lack of Soul Dew + increased defensive niche in checking Solg/Luna/Zyg/Gear to varying extents and I don't feel like this is reflected properly in the Overview.

I think the physical set is potentially still worthwhile, it lures PDon like little else and the only support Arceus it actually loses to is Water (which TWave is still useful against). I'll get other QC weigh in on this though.

I've used the physical Pogre set and I can say it still has potential. It allows it to cripple CM Arceus formes with t-wave and Waterfall doesn't give a crap about the CM boosts they gain and do massive damage to Arceus formes that don't resist its Water STAB. You can even go for Paraflinches with the Paralysis + Waterfall flinch chance, although it's haxxy. EQ is also the one move on Pogre that can hit Pdon the hardest, doing around 47% to max HP Pdon variants.

I wouldn't say it's the mainline set for Pogre, but I feel people aren't giving it enough credit. Despite being Intimidated by Salamence, Kyogre still knocks it out with Adamant Ice Beam with no investment.

I gave this the once over on discord and advised on a new overview which should address QC concerns. Physical seems odd on paper but I have yet to experience it so I'll pass for now, but it can always get a set addition if it proves to be good.

Please remember to proofread your analysis before sending it off to GP (as noted here). We obviously don't expect you to catch everything, but we shouldn't have to repeatedly fix basic errors, that's something I trust that you can handle on your own. For some examples of stuff I saw in this analysis,
  • The word "Pokemon" should never be lowercase.
  • Don't use abbreviations for Pokemon or moves unless otherwise specified here. So, don't use stuff like "Mence", "SupportCeus", "Pdon", "Pogre", and "Lati@s".
  • Remember that, despite us being in the bullet point format right now, analyses are still expected to be written in complete, clear sentences.
Of course, if you have any other questions, feel free to let me or the rest of the team know!

  • Vs Offense Versus offense, Kyogre can be played much more aggressively and (I think it makes more sense to place this information here) used to weaken Groudon for a teammate to win, and can be played much more aggressively.
  • Against Balance teams, evaluate the individual teams at the start to decide how Kyogre should be played as follows: (this isn't a full sentence and is an introduction into the follow two points, so it's best to just make the missing info clear in the following points instead)
  • Vs Teams Versus balance teams without multiple water resists Pokemon that resist Water, it can be relatively easy to wear down Primal Groudon into range of a +1 Ice Beam by anticipating it to switch in once or twice and accruing Stealth Rock damage alongside Ice Beam damage. This means Kyogre should be played quite aggressively. (I think the main point here should be addressed earlier)
  • Vs Versus balance teams with multiple Water Resists Water resistant Pokemon, Kyogre will need to be patient and should not be brought out frequently, and . (add period) It should also try and avoid as much passive damage (ie Stealth Rock) , (AC) such as from Stealth Rock, (AC) as possible.
  • The combination of Support support Arceus and Primal Groudon struggles to take on Kyogre is , (AC) as Kyogre can get a free switch in on Primal Groudon. Support Arceus cannot do enough to the Kyogre, and +1 Ice Beam will 2hko 2HKO most Primal Groudon after Rocks Stealth Rock damage. It will 2hko 2HKO all Pdon Primal Groudon Variants variants if Rocks damage has been taken it has taken Stealth Rock damage twice in Primal form forme, and has a fantastic chance to 2hko 2HKO if rocks were taken it switched into Stealth Rock once in regular form before and once in Primal Form after Primal Reversion. (not QC, but this last sentence feels kinda unnecessary for how long it is. At the very least it could be condensed and built into the previous sentence)
  • Dialga gets hit harder by Origin Pulse than it does by Ice Beam or Blizzard. Water resists Pokemon resistant to Water are not hit harder by coverage unless they are weak to the move as well.
  • In spite of Kyogre's lackluster Physical physical bulk, it does have very nice Special Bulk special bulk and can, in a pinch, take on almost all Special Attackers special attackers without much to fear.
  • Kyogre beats almost all Calm Mind Arceus formes, taking under half avoiding a 2HKO (a lot less casual imo) from a Neutral non-super effective Judgment and being able to severely outdamage them after a Calm Mind.
  • Similarly, Kyogre cares little about any Support support Arceus aside from the potential for Toxic, which is influenced by the frequency in which Defensive defensive Kyogre will come in on Support support Arceus Formes formes as well.

Team Options
========
  • Xerneas likes Kyogre's ability to wear down Groudon and general special walls in general for it to sweep. The same is true in reverse, depending on which of the two have has more checks on the opposing team.
  • Pokemon like Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, (AC) and Yveltal are appreciated due to their ability to come in relatively safely on Gvroudon.
  • Groudon, as always, (I feel like the other statement wasn't particularly clear...) is a good teammate for everything, in this instance due to rocks setting up Stealth Rock, potential paralysis potentially paralyzing foes, the ability to take on most special walls, and its ability to wear down some dragon types Dragon-types that are used to cover both Primals.
  • Pokemon that do well vs Offense (Scarf Lunala, Deo-a, Geoxern, Mewtwo) versus offense, such as Choice Scarf Lunala, Deoxys-A, Geomancy Xerneas, and Mewtwo, are nice due to Offense it being Kyogre's worst matchup.
  • Physical Physically offensive Arceus Formes (Ekiller, Ghostceus, Groundceus) formes, such as Extreme Killer, Arceus-Ghost, and Arceus-Ground, make good partners due to the offensive wallbreaking coverage (what does "offensive wallbreaking coverage" even mean?).
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Physical A physically offensive set can be fun to see Pdon 2hkod Primal Groudon get 2HKOed by Earthquake and this set surprises surprise a lot of Special Walls special walls that would normally take on kyogre Kyogre. Unfortunately, it's still reliant on prediction and is also a lot weaker vs various Supportceus versus various support Arceus formes, (AC) which can now wall it comfortably.
  • Calm Mind + Rest, forgoing Sleep Talk, can be used to combine the positive aspects of both of these sets, (RC) . (add period) however However, (AC) it leaves Kyogre completely incapable of doing anything during the two turns it spends resting asleep, leaving it very passive, which is not a good thing in the current Metagame metagame. A mono-attacking set is unviable due to Primal Groudon.
  • Choice Scarf is a remnant of past Ubers Metagames metagames, but it can occasionally put in work if you can KO Primal Groudon early, as well as get getting rid of the many water resists Water resistant Pokemon that kyogre Kyogre still has to get through. Unfortunately, (AC) it's Not reliably unreliable and highly matchup reliant though.
  • HP Hidden Power Ground can be used over Ice Beam if you feel like trading your Kyogre's ability to hit all the dangerous dragon types Dragon-types in the tier in favour favor of a one-time-only move to hit Primal Groudon with for about 10% more damage (Hidden Power Ground should be roughly 120 BP vs PDon as opposed to Ice Beam's 90 BP. I think I understand what you're saying in terms of the HP PDon loses, but it still might be confusing for readers). Usually, it's not worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon**: Primal Groudon is the main obstacle for Primal Kyogre to overcome. It's on almost every team, deals massive damage with Precipice Blades, is immune to Water type moves by virtue of its ability (although Kyogre can come in on Groudon to set the rain), (AC) and has very good bulk to take multiple hits from Kyogre.

**Ferrothorn**: While being incredibly passive, Leech Seed and Power Whip from Ferrothorn can 1v1 just about all every Kyogres Kyogre set.

**Blissey**: Blissey can easily take on anything defensive Kyogre can do to it. (add period) , and it can Toxic Calm Mind variants, although Although Blissey can use Toxic on Calm Mind variants, (AC) (a bit cleaner to read this way) Calm Mind Kyogre can 2hko 2HKO Blissey after Stealth Rock damage at +1, so it will merely end up putting Kyogre on a timer.

**Arceus-Water/Arceus-Dragon and Arceus-Dragon**: While not checking Kyogre, they provide a backup water resist Pokemon that is resistant to Water such that if Kyogre comes in on Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre cannot just get a kill, and then Groudon can come back in.

**Opposing Primal Kyogre**: Two Defensive defensive Kyogre sets in a 1v1 is PP War war, and either can be used as a water resist Water resistant Pokemon ("can be used to pivot into Groudon" works fine too, just didn't want to possibly remove important info) to pivot with into Groudon to reset the weather. Calm Mind Pogre Primal Kyogre sets are not bothered unless they face a faster offensive POgre Primal Kyogre, in which case Thunder stings.

**Dialga**: Operates Dialga operates on a similar fashion as the prior two, mostly being a backup water resist Pokemon resistant to Water ("check" could probably work here too) to pivot with such that Groudon is fine takes minimal damage (a bit less casual/more clear, assuming this is what you meant). Dialga can also set rocks Stealth Rock and do more damage in return though.

**Palkia**: New Toy of ZHeal Block Palkia's new toy in Z-Heal Block can punish the defensive Kyogre set, and while it doesn't like taking on the Calm Mind set because Thunder hurts a lot and can para paralyze it, (AC) it can normally come in on Kyogre and force it out. Lati@s Latios and Latias no longer being relevent relevant means Palkia also has less competition for fast, (AC) special attacking, (AC) dragon type Dragon-type Kyogre check. (This last sentence feels a bit out of place. I thought C&C should be more about what beats Kyogre and what they can do, not about Palkia's relevance in the meta)

**Zekrom**: Zekrom's STAB Bolt Strike, (RC) and water Water resistance, (AC) as well as and normally being Faster faster than Kyogre, (AC) makes Zekrom make it a decent Primal Kyogre answer, although its other flaws prevent it from shining in the current metagame.

**Fast Physical Attackers**: Pokemon like Rayquaza, Salamence, (AC) and Lucario can all do a huge chunk to Kyogre, leaving it easily revenge killed. None of them comfortably switch in though, fearing a burn or a potential OHKO from one of Kyogre's moves.

Hey turns out this has been sitting here for nearly a month. I kinda thought I'd get a notification when the GP was done, but I forgot that the GP team copy into a 'reserved' post.
