Hello thar. I may be stupid, and I may be a n00b, but there's one thing I'm not, and that's a porn star.
That out of the way, I shall move on to the point. I have been looking at the moves recently, and wondering, how do they decide how many pp a move has? I figured since you guys know more about pokemon than pretty much the whole internet, I'd ask here.
Are gamefreak trying to balance all moves?
Do they favour certain types?
Why are some so obviously out-and-out better than others?
take Earthquake, for example;
10pp, base power 100, 100% accuracy.
Super effective against Poison, Electric, Rock and Steel.
Resisted by Grass and Bug.
Flying/levitating has immunity.
This is one of the most over-spammed moves in history. It must have something right. Compare to something with the same base power; Stone Edge
only 5pp, with 80 accuracy.
Super effective: Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug
Resisted: Fight, Ground, Steel
Also pretty spammed, but is the 'no immunities' and extra crit ratio enough to drop accuracy by 20, and pp by half? Rock moves in general tend to have low pp and accuracy for the damage they do (except Power Gem, but that may be because only one Pokemon that can learn it gets STAB... I don't know)
Then there are things like the Fighting-type having an obscene amount of attacks with base power of at least 100, whilst Dark has a grand total of none.
So, having typed out this much, I have forgotten my point.... so.... umm.... discuss!.... something....
Personally, I would change splash. I would give it a 1-in-shiny-rarity chance to KO the opponents entire team.
