Hippowdon acts as a great check to threatening physical attackers like Terrakion, Excadrill, and Bulk Up Zeraora. It's a decent user of Stealth Rock as well, dealing with Excadrill as a remover, and able to Whirlwind Corviknight and Mandibuzz into possibly a favorable foe to set up Stealth Rock against. Whirlwind also helps deal with non-Taunt Bulk Up Corviknight if it's not the opponent's last Pokémon. Whirlwind is also useful in general for racking up Stealth Rock damage on threats like Kyurem, Zeraora, Rotom-Heat after a Knock Off, among others, as well as not letting Corviknight and the aforementioned Kyurem come in for free. Toxic can be used to directly cripple Mandibuzz, as well as just hitting other Pokémon that would come in freely on Hippowdon otherwise, such as Rotom-Heat and Hydreigon. 248 Def EVs are just enough to avoid a 2HKO from Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat, and the remaining 8 EVs are placed into Attack to guarantee an OHKO on Excadrill.

Speaking of Excadrill, Sand Rush variants are nice allies that provide hazard removal and appreciate the boosted speed for a couple of turns. Clefable, Sylveon, or Mandibuzz are also great allies that help cover threats on the special end, most notably Dragapult, Hydreigon, and Keldeo, with the former two dealing with Kyurem as well, all of which would be huge trouble to Hippowdon. Water-types like Toxapex and Seismitoad are also valuable teammates, acting as a check to Dracovish and further helping the Aegislash matchup.

There's no need for 248 HP.

Hippowdon acts as a great check to threatening physical attackers like Terrakion, Excadrill, and Zeraora. You should specify Bulk Up Zeraora; Hippowdon isn't a good check to Grass Knot Zeraora. It's a decent user of Stealth Rock as well, dealing with Excadrill as a remover, and able to Whirlwind Corviknight and Mandibuzz into possibly a favorable foe to set up Stealth Rock against. Whirlwind also helps deal with Bulk Up Corviknight if it's not the opponent's last Pokémon. It's prone to Taunt from Corviknight, though, so make sure to mention Hippowdon shouldn't be your sole counterplay. Whirlwind is also useful in general for racking up Stealth Rock damage on threats like Choice Specs Kyurem, Zeraora, Rotom-Heat after a Knock Off, among others. Saying Choice Specs at the start implies Zeraora and Rotom-H are also running Choice Specs. There's no need to specify Choice Specs Kyurem anyways because every Kyurem set is easily worn down by Stealth Rock. Toxic can be used to directly cripple Mandibuzz and let Hippowdon put Stealth Rock up at the cost of its Leftovers, as well as just hitting other Pokémon that would come in freely on Hippowdon otherwise, such as Rotom-Heat and Hydreigon. 248 Def EVs are just enough to avoid a 2HKO from Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat, and the remaining 8 EVs are placed into Attack to guarantee an OHKO on Excadrill.

Hippowdon acts as a great check to threatening physical attackers like Terrakion, Excadrill, and Zeraora. It's definitely worth specifying BU Zeraora here since mixed sets with gknot is able to beat it far too reliably; alternatively, you could mention something else like cb aegi or cinderace but personally I think bu zeraora is fine since it's hard to find bu zeraora checks but that's up to you. Whirlwind is also useful in general for racking up Stealth Rock damage on threats like Choice Specs Kyurem, Zeraora, Rotom-Heat after a Knock Off, among others. Probably should be stated that denies kyurem / corvi in particular free entry which would obviously be really shit for it Toxic can be used to directly cripple Mandibuzz and let Hippowdon put Stealth Rock up at the cost of its Leftovers, as well as just hitting other Pokémon that would come in freely on Hippowdon otherwise, such as Rotom-Heat and Hydreigon. 248 Def EVs are just enough to avoid a 2HKO from Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat, and the remaining 8 EVs are placed into Attack to guarantee an OHKO on Excadrill.

Sylveon or Clefable switch the order here are also great allies that help cover threats on the special end, most notably Dragapult, Hydreigon, Kyurem, and Keldeo, which would be huge trouble to Hippowdon.

This section is lacking; add mentions of stuff like fat waters, particularly pex and other ghost checks like mandi and all that.

I'm not a fan of this line personally because Corviknight can just continuously switch back into Hippowdon + Mandibuzz can as well and doesn't care about sand thanks to Overcoat Whirlwind also helps deal with non-Taunt Bulk Up Corviknight if it's not the opponent's last Pokémon. I'd merge this sentence with the next personally, addressing how Whirlwind denies free entry for x, y, and z and prevents Substitute Corviknight from using you as setup fodder Whirlwind is also useful in general for racking up Stealth Rock damage on threats like Kyurem, Zeraora, Rotom-Heat after a Knock Off, among others, as well as not letting Corviknight and the aforementioned Kyurem come in for free. i think this is like qc 3/2 lol...
