[OVERVIEW]

Diancie is an interesting defensive Pokemon in the tier that compresses Stealth Rock with the ability to check Noivern, Arcanine, Goodra, Mega Ampharos, Swellow, and Houndoom thanks to its typing and mixed bulk. Diancie also has an easy time setting up entry hazards against a handful of the tier's removers such as Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Sigilyph. However, Diancie is completely hopeless against Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong due to their resistance to its primary attacks alongside their immunity to Toxic, although the rare Earth Power somewhat mitigates this flaw. Diancie also invites some of the most dangerous offensive Pokemon in the metagame like Zygarde-10%, Shaymin, Roserade, and Virizion in due to its typing. Diancie's lack of reliable recovery can also leave it worn down quickly throughout the match, and it can be chipped down by Stealth Rock and Spikes and crippled by poison and burns. Diancie faces competition from other defensive Rock-types like Rhyperior and Gigalith, which both have essential tools to pressure out Steel-types and can also check Salazzle as opposed to Diancie, but Diancie's higher Special Defense and part-Fairy-typing, which allow it to be a more reliable answer to Houndoom and other special attackers, can set it apart.

[SET]
name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Clear Body
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Moonblast is Diancie's main attack and is also important for fishing for Special Attack drops against the likes of Dragalge, Mismagius, and Necrozma. Earth Power offers the coverage to damage Nidoqueen, Metagross, and Houndoom super effectively. Toxic can be essential to crippling walls like Slowbro and Cresselia, but Heal Bell is an alternative if the team requires a cleric and cannot fit another Pokemon; however, this move should only be run as a last resort, as Diancie cannot cripple the aforementioned walls without Toxic.

Set Details
========

A Calm nature boosts Diancie's Special Defense without compromising its power. Clear Body is Diancie's only ability but does have some use in preventing random stat drops from Psychic and Bug Buzz.

Usage Tips
========

Diancie should set up Stealth Rock as early as possible to deal chip damage and soften up any checks. Diancie should also often be switched in against foes it checks such as Noivern, Goodra, Arcanine, and Houndoom if it's healthy enough in order to stomach their attacks and potentially set up Stealth Rock. Spreading Toxic is not a bad strategy to help wear down defensive switch-ins like Donphan and Slowbro when Stealth Rock is already on the field in order to cripple the opposition and offer its teammates complementary chip damage to soften up the opponent's defenses. Diancie should avoid status if it isn't running Heal Bell, as it greatly hinders its longevity in the match. Diancie will often invite Steel-types, so aggressive doubles to bring in Fire- or Ground-types that prey on these Pokemon or possibly scouting and chipping with Earth Power can work.

Team Options
========

Diancie fits best on bulky offense and balance teams that require role compression to round out the rest of the team. Roserade, Virizion, and Shaymin are all offensive Grass-types that greatly appreciate Diancie’s ability to check Fire- and Flying-types. Ground- and Fire-types such as Zygarde-10%, Donphan, Salazzle, Arcanine, and Houndoom can offensively pressure the Steel-types that Diancie struggles with. Slowbro forms a strong defensive core with Diancie due to it checking Zygarde-10% and other Ground-types and its high Defense that complements Diancie's Special Defense. Entry hazards can chip Diancie fairly quickly if they're stacked up, so removal from Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Tsareena can be essential to keeping Diancie healthy.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Power Gem can be used to defeat Pokemon such as Sigilyph, but is generally a worse coverage option than Earth Power. Diamond Storm paired with a Sassy nature gives Diancie a stronger attack that can also boost its Defense to toughen it up against physical attackers like Toxicroak and Drapion, but its lower accuracy and low PP compared to Power Gem can be detrimental in long, drawn-out games. Diancie could attempt at sweeping with a Calm Mind + Groundium Z set to bust through Metagross and Registeel, but this set needs to invest into its offensive stats, which makes it less effective defensively. This set is also outclassed by other Calm Mind users like Virizion, Necrozma, and Comfey. Diancie can stall out foes with Protect and Toxic, but this removes coverage that Diancie often wants for checking Flying- and Fire-types. Shuca Berry is useful on more offensive teams, as Diancie can lure in Nidoqueen and Zygarde-10% and retaliate, but this item is difficult to justify over Leftovers.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Metagross and Escavalier destroy Diancie with their STAB moves. Metagross needs to be wary of Diancie's Earth Power, however. Defensive Steel-types like Bronzong and Registeel, although the latter fears the rare Calm Mind + Groundium Z set, completely wall Diancie as well.

**Grass-types**: Roserade, Shaymin, and Virizion can offensively pressure Diancie with super effective damage, although the latter should be wary of Moonblast. Tsareena can also remove Diancie's entry hazards while pressuring it.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Golisopod and Feraligatr are offensive answers to Diancie, while Milotic and Slowbro take a Defensive approach, with the former taking advantage of Toxic by virtue of Marvel Scale.

**Ground-types**: Donphan can spin away Diancie's entry hazards, while Nidoqueen completely walls any set that isn't using Earth Power. Zygarde-10% and Flygon can revenge kill Diancie after it's chipped, although these two should scout for the potential Shuca Berry.

hi just some quick thoughts, implement whatever qc agrees with :}
[OVERVIEW]

  • Diancie is an interesting defensive Pokemon in the tier that compressses mixed bulk, Stealth Rock, and a cleric in one slot (nitpicky but I'd change the beginning of this sentence to paint a picture of its viability in the metagame and not just its positive traits. something like "diancie finds a niche in the metagame thanks to its high bulk, good utility movepool, etc." strengthens the overview and gives a much better impression of diancie's place in ru).
  • Its typing allows it to check Noivern, Arcanine, Swellow, and Houndoom which can be a boon for teams that rely on Shaymin or Virizion as their wincon (I'm not understanding what this is trying to say? idt teams should rely on either of these as "wincons", I just think being able to check and set up rocks against the first mons you mention can support diancie's teammates. if anything it's probably better to just remove the last part or rephrase it)
  • Diancie also dishes out a respectable amount of damage with high base power attacks like Diamond Storm and Moonblast (and decent natural attack stats) (I'd mention how it can pressure teams that rely on mandibuzz/mstoise for removal which helps it keep rocks up. it actually keeps them up versus mega blastoise well contrary to your point below bc it rarely runs water moves in this meta and you can usually 3hko it back whereas mstoise never beats you 1v1 without hax, especially if you proc z move)
  • However, Diancie is completely hopeless against Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong (for what reason? these also carry rocks which can make leading off rocks difficult against such teams)
  • Diancie also takes super effective damage against common offensive Pokemon in the RU metagame like Mega Blastoise (see above), Zygarde 10%, Shaymin, Roserade, and Virizion.
  • Diancie's lack of reliable recovery can also get it worn down quickly throughout the match (or alternatively if you want one-time full heal you have to sacrifice both your z user and passive recovery)
  • Diancie faces competition against Rhyperior who isn't so easily countered by Steel-types and also induces more offensive pressure, but Diancie's higher Special Defense and Fairy-typing that makes it a more reliable answer to Noivern and Houndoom is what sets it apart.
[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Diamond Storm
move 3: Moonblast
move 4: Toxic / Heal Bell
item: Leftovers / Normalium Z
ability: Clear Body
nature: Sassy
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Diamond Storm is a formidable primary attack that also can possibly boost Diancie's Defense which toughens it up against physical attackers like Toxicroak and Drapion.
  • Moonblast lets Diancie retaliate against Fighting-types like Virizion, Machamp, and Bewear and can also be used to fish for Special Attack drops against Special Attackers such as Dragalge, Mismagius, and Necrozma (I'd much rather click diamond storm versus mage since that 2hkoes)
  • Toxic can be essential to crippling walls like Slowbro and Cresselia but Heal Bell is an alternative if the team requires a cleric and cannot fit another Pokemon.
Set Details
========

  • A Sassy nature boosts Diancie's Special Defense and doesn't compromise its mixed attacks.
  • Clear Body is Diancie's only ability but it blocks Arcanine's Intimidate (I'm inclined not to include this if your best example is something you already beat)
  • If Diancie is using Heal Bell, than Normalium Z is the preferred item to allow Diancie to trade against a wallbreaker (this makes little sense without context) and then restore its health back to full (not necessarily preferred as it can certainly use heal bell lefties but just be sure to specify that normalium z is only compatible with heal bell).
Usage Tips
========

  • Due to Diancie's lack of reliable recovery, it should only switch into resisted attacks and the aforementioned Pokemon that it checks.
  • Diancie should set up Stealth Rock as early as possible to deal chip damage and soften up any checks. (when should diancie be brought in against teams that use bronzong/metagross/rhyperior as their sr lead?)
  • Diancie should avoid status if it isn't running Heal Bell as it greatly hinders its longevity in the match. (give context — what are some examples of toxic users? mandibuzz is something you can threaten for example but it can hinder diancie greatly if it's running toxic, same with smth like scarf houndoom)
  • Diancie will often invite Steel-types in so aggressive doubles could be played to bring in Fire- or Ground-types that prey on these Pokemon.
  • Z-Heal Bell should only be used as a trade against Mega Blastoise (again) or Roserade so that Diancie can take one super effective attack from them and fully recover. (I genuinely don't understand this point. as it is you make it sound like you should ONLY use z heal bell against pokemon that threaten to break past you which is plain wrong and is actually the worst thing to do in this scenario. you can certainly use it later in a game if it gets worn down so it can stay alive to keep noivern and arcanine and whatnot in check. definitely give this one a look-over)
Team Options
========

  • Diancie fits best on Bulky Offense or Balance teams that require role compression to round out the rest of the team (or a check to things like noivern, arcanine, swellow, etc. there's almost none of that mentioned all throughout here).
  • Roserade, Virizion, and Shaymin greatly benefit from Diancie as it walls most Pokemon that would attempt to revenge kill them (examples?)
  • Ground- and Fire-types such as Zygarde 10%, Donphan, Salazzle, Arcanine, and Houndoom can offensively pressure the Steel-types that Diancie has almost (literally) no counterplay against (fires also pressure grasses)
  • Slowbro forms a strong defensive core with Diancie due to it checking Zygarde 10% and other Ground-types and its high Defense that complements Diancie's Special Defense.
  • Entry hazards can chip Diancie fairly quickly if they're stacked up so removal from Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Tsareena can be essential to keeping Diancie healthy (this is a pretty generic point that's not really exclusive to diancie since it's not even weak to sr/tspikes if running heal bell so I'm not sure how much this adds).
  • (What appreciates heal bell support? A few pokemon mentioned previously like slowbro thrive off of getting status healed)
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Power Gem can be used for a more accurate Rock-type attack and to allow Diancie to use a Calm nature, but Diamond Storm's higher base power and utility makes it a more worthwhile pick (less damage against stuff like rose too).
  • Earth Power gives Diancie access to coverage that can harm Steel-types, but Earth Power pales in comparison to the utility of Toxic and Heal Bell.
  • Trick Room and Sunny Day are two support options that Diancie can utilize for specific teams but it faces competition against other setters like Cresselia and Porygon 2 for the former and Ninetales for the latter (I'd specify a set consisting of rocks/setup move/explosion for the purpose of getting hazards up and pivoting).
  • Hidden Power Fire can lure in Escavalier (and Forretress) but other than that this move is useless. (you can group this with earth power since they both serve the purpose of hitting steels)
Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Metagross, Bronzong, and Registeel switch-in on Diancie with almost no drawbacks and completely wall it. Escavalier also makes Diancie crumble to its Iron Head. (why is this its own sentence when metagross and zong also carry steel moves) (some of these can also set rocks upon a forced switch)

**Grass-types**: Roserade, Shaymin, and Viizion can offensively pressure Diancie with super effective damage albeit the latter should be wary of Moonblast. Tsareena can also remove Diancie's hazards while pressuring it.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Mega Blastoise (you know the drill), Golisopod, and Feraligatr are all offensive answers to Diancie while Milotic and Slowbro take the defensive with the former abusing Toxic by virtue of Marvel Scale (both of these still dont appreciate toxic at all since it perma-timers them).

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Donphan can spin away Diancie's hazards while Nidoqueen completely walls it. Zygarde-10% and Flygon also reliably revenge kill Diancie (but they need chip to ko it otherwise they risk moonblast)

Moves
========

  • Moonblast lets Diancie retaliate against Fighting-types like Virizion, Machamp, and Bewear and can also be used to fish for Special Attack drops against Special Attackers such as Dragalge, Mismagius, and Necrozma. dont specify fighting types, diancie isnt even used as a check to these in the first place just say its a main stab and it has good coverage and power
  • Power Gem is Diancie's secondary attack that offers it the coverage to damage Arcanine, Swellow, and Houndoom super effectively. mention it also provides ample neutral coverage
  • Toxic can be essential to crippling walls like Slowbro and Cresselia but Heal Bell is an alternative if the team requires a cleric and cannot fit another Pokemon. how is it essential if you can use something else instead of it
  • Earth Power is another option on the set though as it offers a way for Diancie to chip Metagross and Nidoqueen with super effective damage.
Set Details
========

  • A Calm nature boosts Diancie's Special Defense while not compromising its attacks.
  • Clear Body is Diancie's only ability but it blocks Arcanine's Intimidate. arcanine doesnt run intimidate. it isnt that useful of an ability but it does help vs random stat drops from moves like psychic or bug buzz.
Usage Tips
========

  • Diancie should set up Stealth Rock as early as possible to deal chip damage and soften up any checks.
  • Diancie should often be switched in against its checks if it’s healthy enough in order to stomach their attacks. It also can provide opportunities for Diancie to set up Stealth Rock. this is a bit confusing. mention examples of mons it should switch into (im assuming thats what you meant)
  • Spreading Toxic is not a bad strategy to help wear down defensive switch-ins like Donphan and Slowbro. this is true of any mon with toxic. expand on this by explaining when you should spread tox vs setting rocks or attacking
  • Diancie should avoid status if it isn't running Heal Bell as it greatly hinders its longevity in the match.
  • Diancie will often invite Steel-types in so aggressive doubles could be played to bring in Fire- or Ground-types that prey on these Pokemon. or predict and chip with ep
Team Options
========

  • Diancie fits best on Bulky Offense or Balance teams that require role compression to round out the rest of the team.
  • Roserade, Virizion, and Shaymin greatly benefit from Diancie as it walls most Pokemon that would attempt to revenge kill them such as Swellow and Houndoom. just say grass types like rose viriz shay appreciate diancie walling fire and flying types cause right now it only seems like offensive grasses fit with diancie
  • Ground- and Fire-types such as Zygarde 10%, Donphan, Salazzle, Arcanine, and Houndoom can offensively pressure the Steel-types that Diancie struggles with.
  • Slowbro forms a strong defensive core with Diancie due to it checking Zygarde 10% and other Ground-types and its high Defense that complements Diancie's Special Defense.
  • Entry hazards can chip Diancie fairly quickly if they're stacked up so removal from Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Tsareena can be essential to keeping Diancie healthy.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Diamond Storm paired with a Sassy nature gives Diancie a stronger attack that can also boost its Defense to toughen it up against physical attackers like Toxicroak and Drapion, but its lower accuracy and low PP can be detrimental in long drawn-out games can make it generally inconsistent compared to Power Gem. Diancie also is forced to run a Speed dropping nature which leaves it outsped by Araquanid. it does not. araquanid should be creeping diancie anyways so the only thing you actually miss out on is tying with other 50's which is barely relevant (diancie loses to them anyways).
  • Diancie could attempt at sweeping with a Calm Mind set with a Z-Move to let it offensively remove Slowbro and Cresselia but this strategy is inferior to Toxic’s utility in statusing the opposition. why is it inferior? expand on this bullet
  • Heal Bell lets Diancie become a cleric for teams but it would rather run Toxic to cripple defensive switch ins. why
  • Diancie can stall out the opponent with Protect and Toxic but Diancie removes coverage that it often wants to check Flying- or Fire-types.
  • A Shuca Berry can help Diancie out in a pinch so that it can retaliate against Nidoqueen and Zygarde 10% but Diancie would prefer passive recovery to restore a minimal amount of its health throughout the match mention its good on more offensive teams. it wouldnt need the passive recovery on these so its not competition with lefties thats the issue. its just hard to justify
  • you use "diancie would prefer [something on main set] over using [anything in oo] a lot. you dont have to do that. mention WHY these oos are good first, then explain why it isnt on the main set (being strapped for moveslots is fine in this case)
Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Metagross needs to be wary of Diancie’s Earth Power but it otherwise destroys it with its primary attack. Escavalier however does not fear Earth Power. Defensive Steel-types like Broznong and Registeel completely wall Diancie as well. regi should fear cm + z move although its pretty rare

**Grass-types**: Roserade, Shaymin, and Virizion can offensively pressure Diancie with super effective damage albeit the latter should be wary of Moonblast. Tsareena can also remove Diancie's hazards while pressuring it.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Golisopod and Feraligatr are all offensive answers to Diancie while Milotic and Slowbro take the defensive with the former abusing Toxic by virtue of Marvel Scale.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Donphan can spin away Diancie's hazards while Nidoqueen completely walls any set that isn't using Earth Power. Zygarde-10% and Flygon also can revenge kill Diancie after its chipped. mention scouting for shuca berry

  • Diancie is an interesting defensive Pokemon in the tier that compressses mixed bulk and Stealth Rock in one slot.
  • Its typing allows it to check Noivern, Arcanine, Goodra, Mega Ampharos, Swellow, and Houndoom which can be a boon for teams that rely on Shaymin or Virizion as their wincon as they often can be checked or revenge killed by these Pokemon. this is more of a team options thing no? idk whyd youd mention these 2 specifically in the overview. the info is correct tho
  • Diancie also has an easy time setting up against a handful of the tiers’ removers such as Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Sigilyph.
  • However, Diancie is completely hopeless against Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong due to its primary attacks being resisted by them alongside their immunity to Toxic albeit they should worry about a rare Earth Power that somewhat mitigates this flaw.
  • Diancie also invites the most dangerous offensive Pokemon in the metagame like Zygarde 10%, Shaymin, Roserade, and Virizion due to its typing.
  • Diancie's lack of reliable recovery can also get it worn down quickly throughout the match and it can be chipped down by Stealth Rock and Spikes or crippled by poisons or burns.
  • Diancie faces competition against other Defensive Rock-types like Rhyperior and Gigalith who both have essential tools to pressure out Steel-types and can also check Salazzle as opposed to Diancie, but Diancie's higher Special Defense and Fairy-typing that makes it a more reliable answer to Houndoom can set it apart.

  • Moonblast is Diancie’s main attack that’s also important for fishing Special Attack drops against the likes of Dragalge, Mismagius, and Necrozma.
  • Power Gem is Diancie's secondary attack that offers it the coverage to damage Arcanine, Swellow, and Houndoom super effectively. It’s also fine neutral coverage against the tier’s Grass-types.
  • Toxic can be essential to crippling walls like Slowbro and Cresselia but Heal Bell is an alternative if the team requires a cleric and cannot fit another Pokemon however, this move should only be a last resort as Diancie cannot cripple the aforementioned walls.
  • Earth Power is another option on the set though as it offers a way for Diancie to chip Metagross and Nidoqueen with super effective damage.
Set Details

  • A Calm nature boosts Diancie's Special Defense while not compromising its attacks.

[OVERVIEW]

Diancie is an interesting defensive Pokemon in the tier that compressses mixed bulk and Stealth Rock in one slot. Its typing allows it to check Noivern, Arcanine, Goodra, Mega Ampharos, Swellow, and Houndoom thanks to its added Fairy-typing. I think these two sentences should be combined. It makes less filler. Maybe write it as, "Diancie is an interesting defensive Stealth Rock setter that can check Pokemon like Noivern, Arcanine, Goodra, and Houndoom thanks to its typing and mixed bulk." Diancie also has an easy time setting up against a handful of the tiers' removers such as Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Sigilyph. Is Sigilyph really that common in RU? (Edit: Sigilyph is fine. I was thinking for relevancy's sake.) However, Diancie is completely hopeless against Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong due to its primary attacks being resisted by them alongside their immunity to Toxic albeit they should worry about a rare Earth Power that somewhat mitigates this flaw. This sentence is so confusing to read and has a lot of Dex data. Rewrite this like: "However, Diancie is easily checked by Steel-types such as Metagross, Bronzong, and Registeel." Also, Bronzong does not care about Earth Power. Diancie also invites the most dangerous offensive Pokemon in the metagame like Zygarde 10%, Shaymin, Roserade, and Virizion due to its typing. Diancie's lack of reliable recovery can also get it worn down quickly throughout the match and it can be chipped down by Stealth Rock and Spikes or crippled by poisons or burns damage. Diancie faces competition against other Defensive Rock-types like Rhyperior and Gigalith who both have essential tools to pressure out Steel-types and can also check Salazzle as opposed to Diancie, Like DW said, Diancie can survive a +2 Acid Downpour, but Rhyperior has trouble with +2 HP Grass. but Diancie's higher Special Defense and Fairy-typing, allowing it to be a more reliable answer to Houndoom and other Special Attackers, can set it apart. Honestly, I would just compare Diancie with other Stealth Rock setters instead of other Rock-types.

Moves

Moonblast is Diancie's main attack that’s also important for fishing Special Attack drops against the likes of Dragalge, Mismagius, and Necrozma. I feel like Moonblast's decent coverage is more important than the Special Attack drop. Power Gem is Diancie's secondary attack that offers it the coverage to damage Arcanine, Swellow, and Houndoom super effectively. It's also fine neutral coverage against the tier's Grass-types. Moonblast does this, too! Toxic can be essential to crippling walls like Slowbro and Cresselia but Heal Bell is an alternative if the team requires a cleric and cannot fit another Pokemon. However, this move should only be a last resort as Diancie cannot cripple the aforementioned walls. Earth Power is another option on the set though as it offers a way for Diancie to chip Metagross and Nidoqueen with super effective damage.

Set Details
========

A Calm nature boosts Diancie's Special Defense while not compromising its attacks. I think this point would be stronger if instead of just saying it's bulky, you mention what special attackers Diancie can pivot into. Clear Body is Diancie's only ability but it does have some use in preventing random stat drops from Psychic and Bug Buzz. I guess add Moonblast here, too.

Usage Tips
========

Diancie should set up Stealth Rock as early as possible to deal chip damage and soften up any checks. Diancie should also often be switched in against what it checks for example, Noivern, Goodra, Arcanine, and Houndoom if it's healthy enough in order to stomach their attacks. It also can provide opportunities for Diancie to set up Stealth Rock. Spreading Toxic is not a bad strategy to help wear down defensive switch-ins like Donphan and Slowbro. It can be spreading this when Stealth Rock is already on the field in order to cripple the opposition and offer its teammates complementary chip damage to soften up the opponent's defenses. Diancie should avoid status if it isn't running Heal Bell as it greatly hinders its longevity in the match. Also be cautious of spamming Heal Bell since it has low PP. Diancie will often invite Steel-types in, so aggressive double switches could be played to bring in Fire- or Ground-types that prey on these Pokemon or possibly scouting and chipping with Earth Power.

Team Options
========

Diancie fits best on bulky offense or balance teams that require role compression a bulky Stealth Rock setter to round out the rest of the team. Grass-types like Roserade, Virizion, and Shaymin are all offensive Grass-types that greatly appreciate Diancie’s ability to check Fire- and Flying-types. Ground- and Fire-types such as Zygarde 10%, Donphan, Salazzle, Arcanine, and Houndoom can offensively pressure the Steel-types that Diancie struggles with. Slowbro forms a strong defensive core with Diancie due to it checking Zygarde 10% and other Ground-types and its high Defense that complements Diancie's Special Defense. That idea already comes across with the defensive core line. What are some Pokemon that Diancie can check for Slowbro? That's what a defensive core should focus on. Entry hazards can chip Diancie fairly quickly if they're stacked up so removal from Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Tsareena can be essential to keeping Diancie healthy. I would add clerics and Healing Wish users here.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Diamond Storm paired with a Sassy nature gives Diancie a stronger attack that can also boost its Defense to toughen it up against physical attackers like Toxicroak and Drapion, but its lower accuracy and low PP can be detrimental in long drawn-out games so generally this is inconsistent compared to Power Gem. Diancie could attempt at sweeping with a Calm Mind set with a Z-Move alongside Groundium Z to bust through Metagross and Registeel but this set needs to invest into its offensive stats which makes it less effectively defensively. This set is also outclassed by other Calm Mind users like Virizion, Necrozma, and Comfey. Neither Comfey or Calm Mind Virizion are that common. Replace with something like Raikou. Heal Bell lets Diancie become a cleric for teams but this move is only a last resort in most scenarios but Toxic is preferred for dealing with crippling defensive switch ins like Donphan and Slowbro. Heal Bell was already mentioned in Moves. This isn't needed if that's the case. Did you mean to say Z-Heal Bell? Diancie can stall out the opponent with Protect and Toxic but Diancie removes coverage that it often wants to check Flying- or Fire-types. A Shuca Berry is useful on more offensive teams as Diancie can lure and retaliate against Nidoqueen and Zygarde 10% but this item is difficult to justify over Leftovers as it’s a typical lure.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Metagross needs to be wary of Diancie’s Earth Power but it otherwise destroys it with its primary attack. Just say it uses STAB Attacks. Primary attack is confusing. Does that mean Meteor Mash or Bullet Punch? Escavalier however does not fear Earth Power. Defensive Steel-types like Broznong and Registeel albeit the latter fearing the rare Calm Mind Z-move completely wall Diancie as well. This last sentance is really confusing to read. I would just rewrite this as: "Offensive Steel-types such as Metagross and Escavalier and defensive ones such as Bronzong and Registeel can threaten Diancie out of the battle with either their powerful STABs or Toxic. Outside of Bronzong, they need to be cautious about potentially switching into Earth Power."

**Grass-types**: Roserade, Shaymin, and Virizion can offensively pressure Diancie with super effective damage albeit the latter should be wary of Moonblast. Add Mega Sceptile here. Tsareena can also remove Diancie's hazards while pressuring it with its STAB moves.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Golisopod and Feraligatr are all offensive answers to Diancie while Milotic and Slowbro take the defensive with the former abusing Toxic by virtue of Marvel Scale. Remove Feraligatr. It moved up to UU. Maybe replace it with Barbaracle.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Donphan can spin away Diancie's hazards while Nidoqueen completely walls any set that isn't using Earth Power. Zygarde-10% and Flygon also can revenge kill Diancie after its chipped although these two should scout for the potential Shuca Berry.

Diancie will often invite Steel-types,(AC) in so aggressive doubles could be played to bring in Fire- or Ground-types that prey on these Pokemon or possibly scouting and chipping with Earth Power can work (the idea wasn't finished, so I made the sentence grammatically correct while maintaining the idea).

Team Options
========

Diancie fits best on bulky offense or and balance teams that require role compression to round out the rest of the team. Entry hazards can chip Diancie fairly quickly if they're stacked up,(AC) so removal from Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Tsareena can be essential to keeping Diancie healthy.

Other Options
=============

Diamond Storm paired with a Sassy nature gives Diancie a stronger attack that can also boost its Defense to toughen it up against physical attackers like Toxicroak and Drapion, but its lower accuracy and low PP can be detrimental in long,(AC) drawn-out games,(AC) so generally this is generally inconsistent compared to Power Gem. Diancie could attempt at sweeping with a Calm Mind + Groundium Z set with a Z-Move alongside Groundium Z to bust through Metagross and Registeel,(AC) but this set needs to invest into its offensive stats,(AC) which makes it less effectively effective defensively. This set is also outclassed by other Calm Mind users like Virizion, Necrozma, and Comfey. Heal Bell lets Diancie become a cleric for teams but this move is only a last resort in most scenarios but Toxic is preferred for dealing with crippling defensive switch ins like Donphan and Slowbro. (Heal Bell was already mentioned as an alternative in Moves) Diancie can stall out the opponent foes with Protect and Toxic,(AC) but Diancie this removes coverage that it Diancie often wants to for checking Flying- or and Fire-types. A Shuca Berry is useful on more offensive teams,(AC) as Diancie can lure and retaliate against in Nidoqueen and Zygarde 10% and retaliate,(AC) but this item is difficult to justify over Leftovers as it’s a typical lure.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Metagross and Escavalier destroy Diancie with their STAB moves.(period) Metagross needs to be wary of Diancie’s Diancie's Earth Power,(AC) however but it otherwise destroys it with its primary attack. Escavalier however does not fear Earth Power. Defensive Steel-types like Broznong and Registeel,(AC) albeit the latter fearing the rare Calm Mind Z-move + Groundium Z set,(AC) completely wall Diancie as well.

**Grass-types**: Roserade, Shaymin, and Virizion can offensively pressure Diancie with super effective damage,(AC) although albeit (repetition) the latter should be wary of Moonblast. Tsareena can also remove Diancie's entry hazards while pressuring it.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Golisopod and Feraligatr are all offensive answers to Diancie,(AC) while Milotic and Slowbro take the defensive,(AC) with the former abusing taking advantage of Toxic by virtue of Marvel Scale.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Donphan can spin away Diancie's hazards,(AC) while Nidoqueen completely walls any set that isn't using Earth Power. Zygarde-10% and Flygon also can revenge kill Diancie after its it's chipped,(AC) although these two should scout for the potential Shuca Berry.

[OVERVIEW]

Diancie is an interesting defensive Pokemon in the tier that compresses mixed bulk and Stealth Rock in one slot. Its typing allows it with the ability to check Noivern, Arcanine, Goodra, Mega Ampharos, Swellow, and Houndoom thanks to its typing and mixed bulk. Diancie also has an easy time setting up entry hazards against a handful of the tier's removers such as Mandibuzz, Mega Blastoise, and Sigilyph. However, Diancie is completely hopeless against Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong due to their resistance to its primary attacks being resisted by them alongside their immunity to Toxic, albeit although they should worry about a the rare Earth Power that somewhat mitigates this flaw. Diancie also invites some of the most dangerous offensive Pokemon in the metagame like Zygarde-10%, (AH) Shaymin, Roserade, and Virizion in due to its typing. Diancie's lack of reliable recovery can also get leave it worn down quickly throughout the match, and it can be chipped down by Stealth Rock and Spikes and crippled by poison and burns. Diancie faces competition from other defensive Rock-types like Rhyperior and Gigalith, which both have essential tools to pressure out Steel-types and can also check Salazzle as opposed to Diancie, but Diancie's higher Special Defense and part Fairy typing, (RH) allowing which allow it to be a more reliable answer to Houndoom and other special attackers, can set it apart.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Moonblast is Diancie's main attack and is also important for fishing for Special Attack drops against the likes of Dragalge, Mismagius, and Necrozma. Power Gem offers the coverage to damage Arcanine, Swellow, and Houndoom super effectively. It's also fine neutral coverage against the tier's Grass-types. Earth Power is another option on the set, though, as it that offers a way for Diancie to chip Metagross and Nidoqueen with super effective damage.

Set Details
========

A Calm nature boosts Diancie's Special Defense while not without compromising its attacks power. Clear Body is Diancie's only ability but does have some use in preventing random stat drops from Psychic and Bug Buzz.

Usage Tips
========

Diancie should set up Stealth Rock as early as possible to deal chip damage and soften up any checks. Diancie should also often be switched in against what foes it checks such as Noivern, Goodra, Arcanine, and Houndoom if it's healthy enough in order to stomach their attacks. It also can provide opportunities for Diancie to and potentially set up Stealth Rock. Spreading Toxic is not a bad strategy to help wear down defensive switch-ins like Donphan and Slowbro. It can be spreading this when Stealth Rock is already on the field in order to cripple the opposition and offer its teammates complementary chip damage to soften up the opponent's defenses. Diancie should avoid status if it isn't running Heal Bell, as it greatly hinders its longevity in the match.
