Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

Rotom-W is very good in the metagame right now, as it checks extremely dangerous threats such as Talonflame, Blaziken, Togekiss, and Azumarill. Rotom-W is also great in gaining momentum via Volt Switch, as Ground-types generally can't switch in on Rotom-W in fear of its Water-type STAB attacks. Hydro Pump hits moderately hard and has nice general coverage with Volt Switch. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Excadrill, Azumarill, and Garchomp, as well as Breloom and Ferrothorn on the switch. Rest gives Rotom-W a second life as it's easily worn down by Stealth Rock. Chesto Berry heals off Rest.

Scizor is the best teammate for Rotom-W, as it forms an incredible VoltTurn core. Rotom-W beats physical walls that switch into Scizor, such as Gliscor, Skarmory, and Gyarados, while Scizor beats Ferrothorn and Blissey that switch into Rotom-W. Forretress has great synergy with Rotom-W, as Forretress easily tanks Grass-types attacks, while Forretress also supports Rotom-W with Rapid Spin support, due to Rotom-W switching all the time. Blaziken likes free switches, as well as Rotom-W's ability to beat Talonflame and bulky Water-types, while Amoonguss beats Grass-types and helps spread status along with Rotom-W.

Rotom-Wash @ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 HP / 56 SpA / 220 Spe
Modest Nature (+Spa, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Discharge
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power Ice

This set is slightly more offensive than the last set, packing more of a punch. However, with Assault Vest, Rotom-W is still very bulky. Volt Switch gains momentum, while Hydro Pump hits Ground-types that dare to switch into Volt Switch. Discharge has a nice 30% chance of paralysis, and doesn't force you to switch, meaning Rotom-W is the ultimate check to Substitute Gyarados. The Speed EVs are used to outspeed max Speed Adamant Mamoswine and all non-Scarfed Scizor, while the HP investment allows Rotom-W to live Garchomp's Banded Outrage. However, a spread of 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD can be used to become an amazing special tank.

Forretress has great synergy with Rotom-W, as Forretress easily tanks Grass-type attacks, while Forretress also supports Rotom-W with Rapid Spin support, due to Rotom-W switching all the time. Blaziken likes free switches, as well as Rotom-W's ability to beat Talonflame and bulky Water-types, while Amoonguss beats Grass-types and helps spread status along with Rotom-W.

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power Ice
- Trick / Thunderbolt

Rotom-W is a decent Choice Scarf user, mainly because of its access to Volt Switch, Trick, and usable Speed stat. The Speed EVs allow Choice Scarf Rotom-W to outspeed +1 Dragonite, Gyarados, and neutral-natured Haxorus and Hydreigon. Volt Switch gains momentum, while Hydro Pump allows Rotom-W to revenge kill Fire- and Ground-types such as Excadrill and Talonflame. Hidden Power Ice is used to hit Dragon- and Grass-types that resist Rotom-W's STAB attacks. Finally, Trick is used to cripple Special walls thinking they can switch into this set, such as Blissey and Ferrothorn. However, Thunderbolt is an option to allow Rotom-W to stay in and use its Electric-type STAB attacks.

Since this set is going to be switching a lot, Defog and Rapid Spin support is pretty important, meaning Rotom-W won't get worn down. Skarmory and Scizor are viable users of Defog, and resist Grass-type attacks aimed at Rotom-W. Forretress also resists Grass-type attacks and provides support in the form of Volt Switch.

[Checks and Counters]

Bulky Grass-types such as Chesnaught, Ammonguss, and Venusaur resist both STABs and can switch in with little fear. Gastrodon is immune to Rotom-W's STAB attacks, making it a solid counter. Strong physical attackers can muscle through Rotom-W, so Pokemon such as Dragonite, Garchomp, and Breloom make for decent checks. Special walls such as Blissey and Ferrothorn easily take on anything bar Trick.
