Because of the lack of -good- available IRC clients (especially for Linux; at least Windows has mIRC), I am going to write an open source IRC client. I'm hoping to have this project be my senior thesis in college as it will be a massive project ;)
It's called "Bananavine". The name comes from "Grapevine", which would have been an awesome name for an IRC client... except that it was the name of the first Amiga OS IRC client. Steelicks suggested "Bananavine" because he's stupid and everyone liked it... so... yeah. I like it too.
Can someone help me with art? It wouldn't be anything hard, probably just something like a banana on a vine. I need small icons (16x16, 32x32 and 48x48) for the application and a larger logo for the website. (probably ~150x150 or 300x300 or I don't know, we can scale down whatever).
I'm willing to pay a modest sum, like $10 or so... I'm poor. Or, if you love Smogon, you could do it for free and an art badge!!!! Thanks a lot guys.
(Zracknel: don't think I've forgotten about your drawings for Sly! It's turned into my research project for undergrad honors and will probably carry on to PhD research... thanks a lot for your efforts!)
