OU Bulky Volcarona

Volcarona @ Buginium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz
- Roost
- Quiver Dance

Despite traditionally serving as a late-game cleaner for most of the generation, Volcarona has recently begun to use a bulky set instead, combining its potential as a late-game cleaner with its ability to check Pokemon like Mega Mawile, Kartana, and Mega Scizor thanks to its typing, reliable recovery, and Flame Body. The added bulk and Roost give Volcarona many opportunities to set up with Quiver Dance and pressure the opposition or fire off an attack to wear down its checks. However, Volcarona demands support to work properly. This set is easily countered by Toxapex and Heatran, so Pokemon that can pressure them, like Reuniclus and Mega Alakazam, make for great teammates. Tapu Fini is another option for this that can provide Defog support, switch into Heatran, and bring Toxapex down into KO range.

just make a point about it demanding a bit more support in terms of Defog and something that capitalizes on Tran and Pex, it will also help explain to the reader why this focuses so much on team composition. Just a simple phrase like “However, Volcarona demands some support to work properly” or anything along these lines should be enough.

If you can fit these in without surpassingthe character limit, you could also mention that the added bulk gives it increased setup opportunities and that Flame Body really helps on the matchup of these physical attackers making them be apprehensive to spam attacks and just switch out on the threat of a Volcarona. I think it’s fine to remove one of the teammates honestly, as this spotlight might be a tad bit too geared to them, opening a spot for the aforememntioned points, but if you can fit everything in without having to remove the mention of one of the teammates it’s fine.

For most of the generation, Volcarona has been used as a traditional late-game cleaner, however, this set has surged recently. The added bulk and freedom to run Roost give Volcarona an ample amount of many opportunities to set up with Quiver Dance and pressure the opposition or just fire off an attack to wear down its own checks. However, Volcarona demands some support to work properly, various teammates can patch these holes up. (you haven't mentioned any holes yet) This set is easily countered by Toxapex and Heatran, so Pokemon that can take advantage of it beat them, like Reuniclus and Mega Alakazam,(AC) make for great teammates, Reuniclus can also wear down Heatran, and Mega Alakazam functions as a great check to Heatran. Tapu Fini is another great teammate option for this that can provide Defog support, and functions as an excellent Heatran switch in and can force Toxapex to be at a lower HP range than it is comfortable being at. easily switch into Heatran, and bring Toxapex down into KO range.
