  • Hey Pinkacross, I made some updates to my previous team. Really was just curious on what you thought of the glowking, dnite and nacl sets, particularly if I should drop roost on dnite for ice spinner. Thanks!

I'd say Dnite can afford Roost on this team but I'd test and see which works better. The sets all look quite solid!

I'd remove Ceruledge for DD Knock Acro Taunt RM. Honestly I think Ceruledge is just not a good mon, especially Poltergeist sets since a TON of booster energy pokemon use it as setup fodder.

Hi Pinkacross, I'm trying to make banded scizor work in ou but I've been struggling with the rain matchups. Any advice on how to make the team better? Thanks in advance!

The only way I could see to immediately improve the rain matchup is Water Absorb Clodsire-- I'd say your team can afford it, it makes the Volcarona matchup somewhat dicy but Clodsire can usually handle Volc unaware or no.

I'd recommend running leftovers specially defensive Heatran with SR, go Iron Defense over Drill Peck on Skarmory. You also could consider Liquid Voice on Primarina for Psychic Noise.
Hello Pinka. I want you to check my team. I have seen some success in this team.

Lordgambit Low kick for kingambit and max speed to outspeed kingambit.

Great Tusk to disrupt skarmory sweep with taunt and another thing to note that it can 2ohko skarmory with 3 bulk ups.
    Oj99981
Volcorona(buzzing sun) to add more hax and also a threatening sweeper

Hatterene a bulky sweeper and lead

    This looks solid.

My main concern is opposing hazard stack-- your situation becomes scary quickly even with Cinderace, now that Gliscor is in the tier. I would advise against LO Dragapult.

Yeah I was thinking about replacing cinderace with tusk. What is LO?

Hey pink, made a new team to experiment with band meow. the sets on the mons are up to debate rn but I'm thinking about making it spikestack or altering the bolt set. Any feedback is obviously super appreciated.

Thanks! My one concern in that case is the tera ground volc mu; I'm concerned if it has sub I'm screwed, but otherwise I can toxic it with glowking and tera grass on tran i suppose.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
The only way I could see to fix that would be replacing Raging Bolt-- it would need to be replaced with another priority user, likely Dragonite or Kingambit. Dragonite is solid against sub volcarona and Kingambit with Tera Fire can handle them as well.
    Venuesaur
    Venuesaur
Fair enough. I suppose grass tran and glowking with toxic or ice beam are probably the best I can do against it with this mu. Thanks for the advice!
Bonjour Mr Pinkacross. Doing a gen 9 Paldea draft league. Haven't played in a good while but have been watching your all your videos to help me come up with something. So far I've gone for Dragapult, Gliscor, Cinderace and Glarian-Slowking. What are some good mons to round off the team?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
well, id say gambit tusk for last 2 in OU but draft is VERY different at times
Hello Pinkacross, I've recently started playing Pokemon Showdown and your videos have been a great help. Using the information I've learned from them I've tried to build a HO team for NatDex Gen 9. I hope I understood what was said correclty and I hope that the team I built has your approval. I'd love to hear any improvements and changes needed by anyone.

This looks pretty solid structurally, although I don't have a lot of natdex experience so I can't say for sure. Why Tera electric on shifu though? Punching Glove will block Static anyway, so why not go Tera Water?
    awsomecolox
    awsomecolox
I decided to go tera electric just to cover for his water/fighting weaknesses as he can still do well against ground with surging strikes. And would you prefer the first team or the second one?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
    I prefer the 2nd one
Hi Pink I want to build a Kyurem balance following the recent suspect test and need your advice. I'd say the team feels a little lacking in terms of offensive prowess but maybe that's a product of it being a bulkier balance. https://pokepast.es/3658fef8b666b7e3
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Your lack of priority is quite concerning I'd say, you're going to get smoked by HO. You could try SR Clefable, Spikes Gliscor, and Kingamibt over Skarmory

Thanks Pink I think the team's better now it's funny how Kingambit solves most of my problems in the builder lol
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Yea gambit is a real one
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Electro Shot Archaludon without rain is interesting-- has that been working? The main issue I have is mixing playstyles-- this glowking is meant for a balance to offense range, this team seems more like an HO.
    ttartarus
    ttartarus
Interestingly, the e-shot archaludon works well. I think my level of play is filled with rain teams as of late, so it's not uncommon I take advantage of them. (And I don't really need the electric coverage with the current non-rain teams in my experience) If you don't mind me asking, what in specific seems more HO-y to you? The team plays pretty significantly different from the previous HO teams I've played with.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
The Hatterene, Iron Moth, and Hawlucha all seem like HO sets-- this isn't a problem per se, since Rillaboom HO is a very viable playstyle, my main concern is that Glowking doesn't fit on a team with so many hit-or-miss sweepers.
Hey, wanted to build around subseed serperior because i thought it was a potentially interesting sweeper/annoyer. Any feedback again would be appreciated!

    https://pokepast.es/33d1d08479dc214f
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Not a bad hstack! My main criticism is Serperior itself honestly. Like dragapult, it takes a bit of time to get going and your team needs some immediate power. Perhaps replace it with Weavile.
    Venuesaur
    Venuesaur
That's fair, but I kind of wanted to build around serperior if that makes sense. Do you have another suggestion to kind of support Serp? I guess like maybe band or boots/SD weavile?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Serp doesn't really fit on hstack, try a bulky offense or HO team I'd say. As for this team, I'd go HDB 4 atks weavile
Just a basic team I made using that Rillaboom + Heatran core back in gen 8, would love to see your thoughts on it as I think it could be a bit better, do you think it could be decent high ladder (17-1800-ish) or are there too many problems?
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
This is an unconventional team, for sure. I'd have to test it to be certain, but this looks pretty solid! I'm impressed! I'd go Toxic on Slowking over Thunder Wave though, Raging Bolt is really rough for you right now.
hey pink, im back with a new team which has pushed me up the ladder a great amount. at the moment my play testing has show me a weakness to stall teams and mons like clod and dondozo. i would greatly appreciate any advice you can give me.
    https://pokepast.es/a6425873aea27ac4
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'd recommend removing Volcarona for a breaker, since your team currently has no immediate power
Hello pinka I am new to team building and would take any tips to improve this team, including alternating Pokemon. I've been using it for national dex which is why you see tapu koko but I think a version of it could work well in OU if I replaced tapu koko with rillaboom or something similar. I really enjoy using the tapu koko, slowking, and valiant. https://pokepast.es/16b6a52c3b47c581

    Pinkacross
Adjusting this for OU would be difficult, Koko is very central to your team. That being said, I'd recommend Rilla over Koko and SpDef Gliscor over Landorus.
A team for your consideration, good sir. It sortof encapsulates a lot of things I don't understand about OU specifically.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Your team doesn't seem to have a central goal, that's my main concern. I can't tell what playstyle you were going for either... which pokemon were you trying to build around originally, Clodsire?
    ralts_boy
    ralts_boy
Ye; Clodsire was the original goal. Part of the problem there is I feel like it's hard to build a team around a defensive mon like that unless you want stall. So then I went with Raikou second and tried to put Clod in as part of a defensive core, and went from there.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Yes it is difficult building around a defensive pokemon, it helps to pair Clodisre with a bulky physical pivot like Corv / Gliscor since it's a major momentum drain
Hi, like your videos a lot. I made my first for indigo disk and this is the result after a lot of revisions. If you let me know what you think I'd appreciate it!

You may also want to consider Scorching Sands over Earth Power on Landorus.
    Venuesaur
    Venuesaur
Thanks, and its mostly solid! The biggest threats i run into are zamazenta if I let hatterene get weak, and archaludon and kingambit. I think kg is a bit better now with wisp on tran and scorching sands on lando, but i was thinking maybe giving rillaboom superpower to 2hko archaludon and replacing kingambit with another dark type with knock and sucker (either meowscarada or h-samurott).
    Venuesaur
    Venuesaur
I was also potentially considering changing wellspring to cornerstone because cornerstone has better offensive coverage and with hatt blocking hazards, gterrain giving healing + boosting horn leech it can potentially abuse sturdy, but I'd need to replace kg with a water resist dark type like meow or hsam for that.
Hi! I am a huge fan of your videos, they have helped me a lot to improve please keep making more
I will really appreciate if you could check my team and give me your most sincere opinion. It will mean to me the world if you could give me some advice of the counters to the team and ev spreads if possible. Thank you. https://pokepast.es/5bad4390c94d4f79
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
I'm so glad that I was able to help you out! I'll certainly keep making them. My main criticism of this team is the lack of a distinct playstyle. Most of your team seems like a Hyper Offense, but the Samurott and Great Tusk sets are not suited for HO, and Gliscor is very out of place. I recommend removing Gliscor for a Light Screen / Reflect / Aurora Veil setter, and adjusting your Great Tusk and Hrott sets.
    Pinkacross
    Pinkacross
Try SD Ceaseless Sucker Aqua Cutter Hrott, BU Taunt Ice Spinner HLR Tusk, use Aura Sphere over Psychic on Latias, and I'd recommend Earthquake or Morning Sun over Burning Bulwark on GF.

I would avoid using Ceruledge, it's quite bad currently. Also, I would advise testing teams before reaching out to me-- it'll give you a better idea of what's going wrong, you can tell me, and I can provide better aid.
