Mmm... This tea tastes dangerous! Polteageist has established itself as a fearsome Shell Smash sweeper on hyper offense teams in RU, since there are few Pokemon that can reliably prevent it from sweeping after it sets up. Shadow Ball is a great offensive STAB move, while Stored Power becomes its strongest move after using Shell Smash. Giga Drain enables Polteageist to pick off weakened Dark-types like Obstagoon and Umbreon and break through bulky Water-types like Milotic and Gastrodon. White Herb makes Polteageist slightly more difficult to revenge kill by resetting its lowered stats. Incineroar, Umbreon, Snorlax, and Porygon2 are the best defensive checks to Polteageist. Therefore, setup sweepers such as Cobalion, Slurpuff, Necrozma, and Sharpedo are recommended, as they either take advantage of or overwhelm them. Galarian Weezing provides Memento and Misty Terrain support, both of which give Polteageist more setup opportunities. Psychic Terrain support from Indeedee increases the strength of Stored Power and prevents Polteageist from being revenge killed by priority users like Durant, Doublade, and Toxicroak. Alolan Ninetales sets up Aurora Veil and enables the use Arctozolt as a strong wallbreaker.
