Latios-Mega @ Latiosite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Psychic
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
Mega Latios is one of the most threatening Mega Evolutions in OU, as it is both notoriously difficult to switch into and is able to capitalize on Pokemon such as Toxapex and defensive Landorus-T, which it can force out with ease. Psychic is a very spammable attack for Mega Latios, as it can be used to wear down Assault Vest Tapu Bulu, force out Toxapex, and pressure Clefable. Earthquake, on the other hand, allows Mega Latios to 2HKO regular checks such as Tyranitar and Magearna, and it OHKOes Heatran. Roost allows Mega Latios to both stay healthy and switch into Pokemon it soft checks, such as Heatran, repeatedly. Mega Latios can use Draco Meteor as a nuke which OHKOs defensive Landorus-T and Greninja and threaten other Psychic-types such as Reuniculus, Mega Latias, and opposing Mega Latios; however, Mega Latios can replace Draco Meteor with either Defog to make use of its ability to threaten many hazard setters like Toxapex and Heatran or Hidden Power Fire to lure Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. Mega Latios can also soft check various threats in the tier, such as Kartana, which it outspeeds and takes any move from, except for Grassy Terrain-boosted Bloom Doom, and Heatran. If you're not running Hidden Power Fire, Magnezone is the perfect partner for Mega Latios, since it can trap Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and Celesteela, which are three of Mega Latios's best checks, allowing it to wreak havoc on the opposing team.
