LC Zorua

[OVERVIEW]

Zorua's signature ability Illusion gives it a decent and unique niche in Little Cup. Zorua's main function is to trick opponents into thinking they're using super effective moves when really they are merely attacking a disguised Zorua. Its relatively high Attack and Special Attack stats help Zorua score a surprise KO. It also has a great Speed tier at 17, Speed tying with Snivy, Drilbur, and Mienfoo. Zorua has access to some great moves, such as U-turn, STAB Knock Off, and Nasty Plot. However, Zorua's paper-thin defenses and relatively poor defensive typing leave it vulnerable to priority and any super effective moves aimed its way. Its fairly narrow movepool also leaves it completely walled by common Fairy-types, namely Spritzee and Snubbull. Finally, Zorua has a weakness to the common Fighting-types and U-turn users of Little Cup.

Moves
========

Night Daze is Zorua's primary STAB option and has the added bonus of having a high chance to drop a foe's accuracy. However, it is notable that using it reveals Zorua for what it is. Dark Pulse is a great alternative to Night Daze with 100% accuracy and a flinch chance, but it has slightly less power. This choice is mostly up to preference, though. Extrasensory is a powerful Psychic-type move that lets Zorua hit Fighting-types, such as Mienfoo and Croagunk, and Poison-types, such as Foongus and Mareanie. Nasty Plot allows Zorua to set up its Special Attack and potentially even sweep. U-turn is a great option to let Zorua pivot, and its immense prevalence makes it easy to bluff being another Pokemon early on. Hidden Power Fighting can be used to hit Steel- and Dark-types, primarily Pawniard and Scraggy, if you don't want to use U-turn. Knock Off can be used as an alternative to Nasty Plot or U-turn to cripple foes, and it also has the added bonus of being very common, making it another good move to use to bluff being another Pokemon.

Set Details
========

196 Special Attack EVs and a Life Orb are used to maximize Zorua's attacking power, primarily on the special side, and specifically let it OHKO Pawniard with Hidden Power Fighting and have a chance to OHKO Mienfoo with Dazzling Gleam. 236 Speed EVs as well as either a Timid or a Naive nature are used to help Zorua outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, particularly Pawniard. Choosing between Timid and Naive is mainly up to if you would like to maximize Knock Off and U-turn damage or be slightly more bulky. The rest of Zorua's EVs are put into its defenses to make its a bulk a bit better. Illusion makes opponents see Zorua as another Pokemon on its team until it is hit.

Usage Tips
========

Deciding upon your team order is very important with Zorua, due to its unique ability. The Pokemon put in the last slot should usually be a Poison- or Fighting-type if your opponent has a Psychic-type such as Abra, as Zorua can bait the Psychic-type moves that it is immune to and hit back with a powerful Dark-type move. Your last Pokemon in other situations should be a Pokemon weak to attacks that Zorua resists, namely Psychic- and Ghost-type moves. Illusion also lets Zorua force switches by disguising itself as Timburr against a Pawniard, for example, allowing it to safely set up Nasty Plot. It can also be good to disguise Zorua as a Pokemon that uses the same moves as it, such as Nasty Plot Croagunk, U-turn Mienfoo, or Knock Off Timburr. If utilizing Nasty Plot, it is always a good idea to remove Zorua's checks and counters before attempting to sweep, as Fighting-types, faster Pokemon, and, (comma) in particular, Fairy-types can be troublesome. Keep careful watch on your team's HP, as Zorua's HP can reveal its disguise to opponents who pay close attention, and as such, try to keep Zorua's HP as close to the Pokemon it's disguised as as possible. Also be wary of switching into Stealth Rock when disguised as a Pokemon weak or resistant to it, as the damage Zorua takes will reveal it to observant opponents. Because of its frailty, Zorua should only be brought in on safe switches or via U-turn or Volt Switch.

Team Options
========

Fighting- and Poison-types, such as Mienfoo, Foongus, and Croagunk, can bait Psychic-types in quite well. Similarly, Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Gastly, Pumpkaboo-XL, and Abra can bait in Ghost-types. Fairy-type checks, such as Pawniard and Foongus, are important to keep Zorua safe from its biggest threats. Hazard removers, such as Staryu, Drilbur, and Kabuto, are also important, as they keep Zorua from taking chip damage and potentially revealing itself. Vullaby in particular can also partially check Fighting-types for Zorua and commonly runs Dark Pulse, U-turn, Knock Off, and Nasty Plot, all moves Zorua uses that can therefore help convince opponents Zorua is Vullaby. U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Mienfoo, Vullaby, and Chinchou can help safely get Zorua in. The first also makes it easier for Zorua to disguise itself. Similarly, Knock Off users such as Mienfoo, Timburr, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Scraggy can all make it easier for Zorua to disguise itself.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A fully physical Swords Dance set with Sucker Punch and Knock Off could work, but Pawniard runs such a set better due to its higher Attack and Steel secondary typing. Agility can be used to boost Zorua's Speed, but Zorua's raw power isn't very good for sweeping without boosts. Taunt is an option, but not many Pokemon are fazed by this, and Zorua is too frail to utilize it well. A Choice Scarf set with Trick could surprise some Pokemon, but after using Trick Zorua can't do very much. Memento can be used to assist a sweeper, but Cottonee and Diglett use it much better due to their Prankster and high Speed, respectively. Psychium Z can be used for a chance to OHKO Snubbull, but it doesn't do much more than that. Pursuit can trap Psychic- and Ghost-types, but Alolan Grimer does this job better, as it has better bulk, a better Attack stat, and a good secondary typing. Berry Juice and Eviolite can both make Zorua easier to disguise and bulkier, but non-Life Orb sets miss out on some key KOs, particularly on Mienfoo.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Zorua can do essentially nothing against Fairy-types like Spritzee, Snubbull, and Cottonee, and almost all can KO it with Fairy-type moves.

**Fighting-types**: Although Zorua can deal with most Fighting-types using Extrasensory, many, like Timburr and Mienfoo, are bulky enough to survive an unboosted Extrasensory and can retaliate with a Drain Punch. Many also carry Fighting-type priority, such as Croagunk's Vacuum Wave or and Timburr's Mach Punch, meaning they can hit Zorua hard before it can KO them.

**Chip Damage**: Entry hazards and other chip damage can reveal Zorua and make it hard to properly use Illusion. For example, if Zorua has switched into Stealth Rock more times than a teammate, your opponent can tell if Zorua is disguised as said Pokemon by its different HP.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Staryu, Doduo, and Ponyta can easily shut Zorua down by revenge killing it or simply switching in on a setup move.

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Vullaby, Pawniard, and Alolan Grimer resist Zorua's STAB moves and are immune to Extrasensory, and many can either set up on Zorua or merely hit it with a powerful attack.

beepboop amcheck idk much about zorua so ill try my best

in overview, that third line is really vague and would be better if merged with either the second or fourth lines or just remove it.
mention that it hits a nice 17 speed tier.
i dont know how i feel about the "merely predicted" part at the end of the fourth line. it doesnt tell me anything really, its best to reword it to make it far more clear, and you might as well add that its weak to common priority moves like Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave.

in moves, mention that using Night Daze essentially reveals that you're a Zorua
infact, i think slashing it after Dark Pulse would be better because of this.
mention Poison types too like Foongus in the Extrasensory line ig.

in set details, tell us that it hits the 17 speed tier to outspeed mons like Pawniard.
also you might as well tell us about Illusion.

in usage tips, its Zorua btw, and also clarify its ability and how it makes it important (which you mention in the second line btw so you could probably merge it)
mention here that Zorua is really frail and should only be brought in on safe switches (slow uturn or volt switch)
and also state somewhere Zorua's main quirk of Illusion, to disguise as Pokemon that can be sent out to force switches against the foes, such as disguising as Mienfoo against like Pawniard for example, which allows it to set up Nasty Plot a lot easier or even make the foe switch in the wrong Pokemon.
i dont think it would hurt to say something about disguising as Pokemon that commonly use moves like Nasty Plot, U-turn, Knock Off, or Dark Pulse, as it can leave its identity ambiguous, and provide examples too.

in team options, i think you give too many examples here and imo, it would be better if they were just split. like Poison and Fighters for one section and how they allow Zorua to bait Psychic types and Ghost and Psychic types in the other section describing how Zorua resists the types theyre weak to.
give examples of hazard removers here
rename the defogger point to just Vullaby, since not only is it the only relevant Defogger rn, it is also a nice Pokemon for Zorua to disguise as imo as it commonly uses the moves Zorua can uses on this set, like Knock Off, U-turn, and Nasty Plot.
mention Uturn and Volt Switch users here too.

in other options, mention that Zorua is often too frail to make good use of Taunt as well.

in checks and counters, EXAMPLES for all fairies, fighters, and faster mons.
also i dont think you need to specify "if using nasty plot" since faster mons can just revenge kill it no matter what.
could probably add Dark types here too, since they resist Dark Pulse and are immune to Extrasensory.

Clarify that this is stuff like Mienfoo, Croagunk, Timburr, not stuff like Vullaby (the latter doesn't allow Zorua to lure stuff)

* Saying that Illusion makes Zorua an interesting/unique Pokemon isn't really useful information, so say something about how it allows Zorua to distinguish a niche for itself.
* I'd also say something here about how its weak to fairly common attack types, like Fighting and Bug considering how many mons use U-turn.

Moves
* Give another example of a Poison-type in your Extrasensory line. Marinara's probably the best one.
* Say in your Hidden Power Fighting line that it also hits Scraggy.
* In your U-turn and Knock Off lines, give examples of Pokemon that commonly carry each of these moves.

Set Details
* 'Illusion is a great ability that allows Zorua to be disguised as the final surviving Pokemon on its team.' - this is worded sort of oddly. I get what you're trying to say, but please find a clearer way to describe how Illusion works if you can.
* Give some examples of KOes the given investment and Life Orb allow Zorua to secure.

Usage Tips
* In the line where you talk about removing Zorua's checks and counters, give some examples and say that Fairy-types in particular should be removed.
* You should say that Zorua should be wary of being brought into play with Stealth Rock down. It may not seem like an issue on paper, but in reality the neutrality to Stealth Rock will look really odd on Pokemon like Croagunk and Mienfoo (make sure you clarify why this is important).

Team Options
* Your Vullaby line is worded quite poorly imo. Clarify that it can fool foes into thinking that it isn't Zorua due to using the same moves like U-turn, Knock Off, and Nasty Plot, and also say that it can adequately check Fighting-types. (this is sort of already what you said, but fixing it up would make it a lot more organized)

Other Options
* Why exactly is Pawniard better as a Swords Dance user? Explain.
* Why are Cottonee and Diglett better Memento users? Explain that as well.
* Again, you need to explain why Alolan Grimer is better as a Pursuit user.
* Add Berry Juice and Eviolite as mentions to the top of this section. Say that they're useful for allowing Zorua to more reliably disguise itself as a teammate that regularly wouldn't use a Life Orb, but that it loses the power to OHKO Mienfoo and Timburr with boosted Extrasensory provided by Life Orb.

Checks and Counters
* Specify in your Fighting-type line that they can take an unboosted Extrasensory. Also give Scraggy a particular mention due to its immunity to Extrasensory.
* Be a little more clear as to how Zorua can be revealed by chip damage (it may try disguising itself as foes that take different damage from Stealth Rock or don't use Life Orb)
* What exactly can Dark-types do in return to Zorua? Specify.

Make sure all of this is implemented, and give yourself 2/3 afterward.

Fairy-type checks, such as Pawniard and Foongus, are important to keep Zorua safe from its biggest threats. Hazard removers, such as Staryu, Drilbur, and Kabuto, are also important, as they keep Zorua from taking chip damage, (RC) and as a result partially revealing Zorua itself. Vullaby in particular can also partially check (what do you mean "partially check"? check has a fairly clear-cut defintion imo, if it can only check some of them then say that) Fighting-types for Zorua, as well as it and commonly running runs Dark Pulse, U-turn, Knock Off, and Nasty Plot, all moves Zorua uses that can therefore help convince opponents Zorua is Vullaby. U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Mienfoo, Vullaby, (AC) and Chinchou can help safely get Zorua in. The former also make it easier for Zorua to disguise itself. Similarly, Knock Off users such as Mienfoo, Timburr, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Scraggy can all make it easier for Zorua to disguise itself (nitpicky but I feel you should reword the last bit, as it can "disguise itself" either way, what you mean is fool the opponent into believing it is another Pokemon).

A fully physical Swords Dance set with Sucker Punch and Knock Off could work ("could work" sounds like you're unsure, if it works but isn't particularly good then say that), but Pawniard runs such a set better due to its higher attack Attack and Steel-type Steel typing. Agility can be used to boost Zorua's Speed, but Zorua's raw attack power isn't very good for sweeping without boosts. Taunt is an option, but not many Pokemon are even fazed by this, and Zorua is too frail to utilize it well. A Choice Scarf set with Trick could surprise (same as above, does it or does it not?) some Pokemon, but after this using Trick Zorua can't do very much. Memento can be used to assist a sweeper, but Cottonee and Diglett use it much better due to their priority and speed, respectively. Psychium Z can be used for a chance to KO OHKO Snubbull (super nitpicky but its other moves also have a chance to KO snubbull, it's just they don't do it in 1 hit), but it doesn't do much more than that. Pursuit can trap Psychic- and Ghost-types, but Alolan Grimer does this job better, (AC) as it has better bulk, a better Attack stat, and a good secondary typing. Berry Juice and Eviolite can both make Zorua easier to disguise and bulkier, but it misses out on some key KOes KOs, particularly on Mienfoo.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Zorua can do essentially nothing against Fairy-types like Spritzee, Snubbull, and Cottonee, and almost all can KO it with Fairy-type moves. Common Fairy-types include Spritzee, Snubbull, and Cottonee.

**Fighting-types**: Although Zorua can deal with most Fighting-types using Extrasensory, many, like Timburr and Mienfoo, are either bulky enough to survive an unboosted Extrasensory and can retaliate with a Drain Punch. Many also carry Fighting-type priority, such as Croagunk's Vacuum Wave or Timburr's Mach Punch, meaning they can hit Zorua hard before it can KO them.

**Chip Damage**: Hazards and other chip damage can reveal Zorua and make it hard to properly use Illusion. For example, if Zorua has switched into Stealth Rock more times than a teammate, your opponent can tell if Zorua is disguised as said Pokemon by its different HP.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Staryu, Doduo, and Ponyta can easily shut Zorua down by revenge killing it or simply switching in on a set up setup move. These faster Pokemon include Staryu, Doduo, and Ponyta.

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Vullaby, Pawniard, and Alolan Grimer resist Zorua's STAB moves (STAB shouldnt be used as a noun unless you're saying something like "Dark Pulse gives STAB") and are immune to Extrasensory, and many can either set up on Zorua, like the former or merely hit it with a powerful attack, like the latter.

[OVERVIEW]

Zorua's signature ability Illusion gives it a decent and unique niche in Little Cup. Zorua's main function is to trick foes opponents (use opponent for the human player; foe/enemy/etc. are used for opposing Pokemon, which aren't thinking anything) into thinking they're using super effective moves, (remove comma) when really they are merely attacking a disguised Zorua. Its relatively high Attack and Special Attack stats help Zorua it hit hard and help Zorua's ability to (repetitive) score a surprise KO. It also has a great Speed tier at 17, Speed tying with Snivy, Drilbur, and Mienfoo. Zorua has access to some great moves, such as U-turn, STAB Knock Off, and Nasty Plot. (these last three sentences are all fairly short, making the overview seem choppy. could you combine two of them - maybe something like "score a surprise KO with great moves such as U-turn ..."?) However, Zorua's paper-thin defenses and relatively poor defensive typing leave it weak vulnerable to priority and any super effective moves aimed its way. Its fairly narrow movepool also leaves it to be completely walled by common Fairy-types, namely Spritzee and Snubbull. Finally, Zorua has a weakness to the common Fighting-types and U-turn users of Little Cup.

Night Daze is Zorua's primary STAB option and has the added bonus of having a high chance to drop a foe's accuracy. However, it is notable that using it reveals Zorua for what it is. Dark Pulse is a great alternative to Night Daze for with 100% accuracy and a flinch chance, but it has slightly less power. This choice is mostly up to preference, though. Extrasensory is a powerful Psychic-type move that lets Zorua hit Fighting-types, namely such as (I don't think you can use "namely" to introduce examples) Mienfoo and Croagunk, and Poison-types, such as Foongus and Mareanie.

Set Details

196 Special Attack EVs and a Life Orb are used to maximize Zorua's attacking power, primarily on the special side, and specifically let it OHKO Pawniard with Hidden Power Fighting and have a chance to OHKO Mienfoo with Dazzling Gleam. 236 Speed EVs, (remove comma) as well as either a Timid or a Naive nature are used to help Zorua outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, particularly Pawniard in particular being outsped. Choosing between Timid and Naive is mainly up to if you would like to maximize the damage of Knock Off and U-turn damage or be slightly more bulky. The rest of Zorua's EVs are put into its defenses to help make its a bulk a bit better. Illusion allows Zorua to make its foes see it makes opponents see Zorua as another Pokemon on Zorua's its team until it is hit.

Usage Tips
========

All subsequent Your last Pokemon in other situations ("subsequent" seems to refer to the subject of the previous sentence, but I'm not sure if this fix preserves your meaning. am I understanding you right?) should be a Pokemon weak to attacks that Zorua resists, namely Psychic- and Ghost-type moves. Illusion also lets Zorua force switches by disguising itself as Timburr against a Pawniard, (comma) for example, and these switches allow allowing it to safely set up Nasty Plot. Also be wary of switching into Stealth Rock when disguised as a Pokemon weak or resistant to it, as the damage Zorua takes can will reveal it to observant opponents. (either "can reveal it to opponents" or "will reveal it to observant opponents" - there's little point in having both "can" and "observant") Because of its frailty, (just for clarity) Zorua should only be brought in on safe switches or via U-turn or Volt Switch.

Similarly, Knock Off users such as Mienfoo, Timburr, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Scraggy can all make it easier for Zorua to disguise itself.
