Victim Of The Week [VoTW #27 - Zygarde / Zygarde-Complete]

Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Shell Smash
- Ice Shard / Razor Shell / Hydro Pump

Unboosted Icicle Spear dunks on all defensive variants of Zygarde. Makes Zygarde Sash totally invalid. Run your own Sash to not get shreked by anything without priority.

Plain and simple.

Let me introduce you the best blob of the universe !

Ditto @ Leftovers
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Transform

Just copy a little weakened Zygarde-C and pray for winning the speed ties and KO it before you run out of PP.

@ Focus Sash / Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Spectral Thief
- Close Combat
- Shadow Sneak
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Marshadow is an absurd Pokemon, in this metagame or otherwise. Focus Sash guarantees that Marshadow lives any boosted hit from Zygarde, while Life Orb deals more immediate damage. These items allow Marshadow to lure Zygarde before hitting with a super effective Hidden Power Ice. Such a lure set allows a partner physically-based Marshadow to have a little more breathing room, as Zygarde-Complete is one of the greatest defensive checks to Marshadow.

4 SpA Life Orb Technician Marshadow Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Zygarde: 322-385 (76.6 - 91.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

4 SpA Life Orb Technician Marshadow Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Zygarde-Complete: 322-385 (50.6 - 60.5%) -- 89.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Not only that, but HP Ice also allows Marshadow to lure other threats such as Mega Salamence, Landorus-T, and, if Focus Sash, Shaymin-Sky

Submissions are now closed! There are to be no edits of your own Pokemon, nor are there to be any new submissions. A few quick things to note;
  • Voting will close on the 13/8 at 12:30pm GMT+11 (8:30pm EST 12/8), where the next Vitim Of The Week will also be announced
  • You can't vote for your own submission
  • You can only change your vote once, so think carefully before doing so
  • You can vote even if you haven't made a submission. It is expected that you vote if you did submit yourself, but not compulsory
I'm sorry Leader Wallace, but your submission must include a set.

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Icicle Spear
- Ice Shard

Pretty simple stuff. Icicle Spear is a nightmare for Zygarde. 3 hits will OHKO offensive ones before it goes into its complete forme, and even complete forme takes serious damage. Not even Yache is a surefire stop thanks to multihitting! Helps that Zygarde needs a boost to even 2HKO Mamoswine with Thousand Arrows. There could be better specalized checks out there, but Mamoswine is pretty hard to beat for a check that's really good in this metagame!

Tapu Fini @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Surf
- Nature's Madness
- Taunt

Fini can come in on any Zygarde and scare it away or prevent a bold snake from setting up with Taunt (Actually, the Bold one here is Fini, but enough bad jokes). Moonblast always breaks 100% form subs (unless it's max HP/SpD, but who's mad enough to run that?), and Misty Terrain prevents both Glare, Toxic and Rest from our favourite environment protector.

Voting for Theorymon's Mamoswine. This thing works so well against Zygarde and also threatens other relevant mons such as Magearna, and if you have your sash intact, Deoxys-A and Shaymin-S as well.

Theorymon's Mamoswine gets my vote. It's incredible how well it works vs common threats such as not only Zygarde, but also Magearna, Shaymin-Sky, Mega Salamence, and more. Also Stealth Rock support is amazing in this metagame.
