Celesteela is Life

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Acupressure
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Knock Off

This set is actually quite funny if you get the right boosts. Acupressure boosts one of Drapion's stats by +2, either turning it into a more powerful threat by boosting Attack, making it much harder to take down if it boosts Defense/SpD, or into a harder threat to revenge kill by boosting Speed. It can also boost evasiveness, which makes it harder to hit, making set-up easier. A defensive EV spread is the best kind for this set, as it wants RestTalk to not get crippled by status and set up continually in the match, and SpD investment lets it check threats like Venusaur. (Also takes advantage of Sleep Powder which is sweet) This set is actually very hard for stall teams to beat as Drapion can set up on common stall mons such as Alomomola and Registeel with ease due to RestTalk, letting it gradually become more of a threat, and if it gets the right Defense boosts, even threats like Rhyperior can find it hard to kill this set. Overall, while it is very luck-based, and sort of a meme, Acupressure RestTalk Drapion can have some use in a fun team due to beating defensive teams and also having a niche in checking Venusaur better due to RestTalk.

Screech Drapion

Drapion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Screech
- Pursuit
- Aqua Tail
- Poison Jab

Screech is a nice utility move to punish Drapion's checks when they switch into this Poison/Dark pokemon. It is a sort of reverse Swords Dance which hinders the opponent's Def, which is useful due its many checks you want to run away from; then you choose another pokemon and it can fight a weakened opponent. P.S. It circumvent Quagsire's ability (Unaware).
In most cases, Screech can replace SD, but with the added utility to help your teammates forcing switches.

Otherwise, it makes Pursuit a good pick over Knock Off (which is very hard to drop, but Screech calls Pursuit).

Drapion @ Life Orb
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Agility
- Aqua Tail / Ice Fang / Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab

Agility Drapion looks like a cool cleaner because of his good coverage and decent power, and the decent bulk gives it many chances to set up. Swords Dance over the coverage move if you feel like you can beat Rhyperior/Flygon/Steelix in other ways

EVs in speed are to outspeed Scarf Delphox at +2, but I think a better spread can be worked on, I'm just lazy @_@

fran17 wins!
Next Pokemon is:

Hitmontop!
Poor thing barely gets attention these days :(. Can we avoid any technitop stuff btw as you might as well use lee.
Cycle ends on July 24th.

Seismic Toss Defensive Hitmontop

Hitmontop @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Seismic Toss
- Foresight
- Toxic

This is the defensive Rapid Spin set but with Seismic Toss (instead of CC) to deal solid damage even when burned and even when the opponent resists Fighting. While Close Combat is -generally- stronger, it ruins the nice bulk of Hitmontop, thus leaving it vulnerable to many revenge killers.

The use of Seismic Toss makes useless to invest on offenses, freeing the possibillity to run every single EV on its bulk.

Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Close Combat
- Rapid Spin
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

Hitmontop often is looked because it doesn't have a recovery and it's pretty susceptible to status, which mean you'll need to run at least a WishPasser and a Heal Bell user, which can be Alomomola+Diancie/Granbull or just Aromatisse, both mons that have some troubles passing wishes to Hitmontop because they don't have a particular sinergy, which means that with good predicts the oppo can shut down Hitmontop while you're trying to pass a Wish D:

This set gives Hitmontop both a recovery and a way to get rid of status, although now spinblockers have an easier time walling it because it lost Foresight and Toxic, but this problem can be solved with something that can beat Ghost types like Drapion or Sneasel.

(S)Hitmontop (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Def
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Rapid Spin
- Sucker Punch
- Earthquake / Stone Edge

(Honestly, I think Hitmontop is a worse spinner than Avalugg but I'm not the most reasonable player around) But before asking yourself why use it instead of Sawk, the main answer is simple: Because Ryoma Nagare put (S)Hitmontop here. Rapid Spin and Sucker Punch too I guess but those moves are horrible to lock itself in. Intimidate though is a cool ability, helping it check shit like Sneasel, Virizion, non-Play Rough Absol, SAWK and so on. The 100 BP non-STAB move can 2HKO offensive Tomb and MBanette, aka not-that-bulky-ghosts-that-may-come-in-expecting-Spin/CC. EQ deals better ith RU spikers while Stone Edge hits Rotom, Sigilyph, and the Golbat. EQ/Stone Edge can also 2HKO ladder's kid 248 HP/0 Def Slowking. I guess you could throw Toxic somewhere for really bulky stuff that isn't Poison and resist Fighting/Ground or Rock instead of Sucker Punch but priority is good, even if it is banded Sucker Punch. The advantage of this (S)Hitmontop is also the surprise value: If your opponent has a Fighting-neutral dedicated generic wall to general physical stuff like Seismitoad, CroDiancie, Druddigon, Blastoise or Cancer Sunfish you can 2HKO all of them, possibly (with the exception of the latter thanks to Regen, but still the weaker the better). 95 Atk CB STAB Close Combat on neutral stuff still kinda hurts.

252+ Atk Choice Band Hitmontop Close Combat vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 243-286 (48.5 - 57%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Think on CB (S)Hitmontop as a bulky strong attacker, kinda like Hariyama but taking physical hits instead (and choice-locked but still), segregating itself from Sawk, Lee, Medicham, and co. It's actually bulkier than Gurdurr.

Hitmontop @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- High Jump Kick
- Stone Edge / Earthquake
- Sucker Punch / Rapid Spin
This set abuses Hitmontop's high base special defense and Intimidate to become a powerful bulk up sweeper. I wish this thing got recovery outside of rest, but it's still pretty good at tanking hits. The idea is to swap it in on either a wall that you can set up on or a physical attacker weakened by intimidate. You can thenow proceed to set up a few bulk ups and destroy the opposing team. This set is also useful as a Sp. Def rapid spinner if you chose to go that route. This set also works best late game to clean up once threatening pokemon have been defeated/weakened. The choice between Earthquake or Stone Edge is up to you. I like Stone Edge for coverage sake, but earthquake's perfect accuracy is good too. It's also up to you whether to run Sucker Punch for priority and against psychic types, or to run Rapid Spin for utility.
