Signups are now open for the inaugural season of Smogon's Big Brother series. Become a member of Team Rocket, live in a famed Team Rocket hideout, and be the last one standing to net the $50 grand prize! See below for a link to the game server, and stay tuned for some updates here in the thread.

This season's main hosts are Food Network, gocubs711, baccababe, and myself (Ayia). In addition, superstarsrock, nicoleasaurus, HayesL, and Mai will be on board as helpers assisting with different areas of production.

We do ask that you only sign up for this game if you're able to be committed to being active for the full length of the game. This game has 15-20 slots available and will last around 1.5 months. You don’t need to spend every second checking it, but activity is important. Not to mention, games are more fun when they’re active! If you're interested in learning what this is all about but aren't sure about playing, there's a draft game available to spectators with a prize of $10 handed out to the winner.

If you're new to Big Brother, here is a brief explanation that will help explain how it works:
Each round (called a "week") in Big Brother, players compete in challenges to win power, and eventually vote someone out. Each week starts with a Head of Household (HoH) competition. The winner of this competition becomes the HoH, and they get to nominate two players to be evicted. Then, 6 players (comprising of the Head of Household, the two nominees, and three random other players) compete in the Power of Veto (PoV) competition. The winner gains the PoV and earns the right to un-nominate one of the nominees. If this is to happen, then the HoH is required to select a replacement nominee other than the PoV holder. Then, all players except for the nominees and HoH vote between the two nominees to decide who goes home.

This continues until there are three players remaining. Then, there is one final HoH competition, and the winner decides alone who is eliminated in third place. Then, the final two players earn the opportunity to plead their case to the jury, comprised of the 9 most recently eliminated players, as to why they should win the game. The jury then gets to vote for who they think is most worthy of being the winner.

Before signing up, check out the game & community rules:
1. Don't seek help from people outside of the game.
2. Do not talk to other players outside of the designated server for the game.
3. No impersonating other players.
4. All Smogon/Circus behavior rules are enforced.
5. Don't share logs or screenshots of chats to players inside the game of game-related content.
If there is a serious game-related problem, please don't hesitate to reach out to a host! We're here to help!

Rules are subject to change at Host Discretion.
There will be a designated Discord server for the game with private channels for the individual tribes as well as 1-on-1 chats for every combination of players on each tribe. To have an alliance chat with 3 or more players you need to make a channel using the bot in your submissions. Once any alliance is formed, a new chat/channel has to be created if members are to be added. Additionally, private voice chats for alliances and 1-on-1s can be created by the Production team on request. Please talk about your VCs with other tribemates in your confessionals - we'd love to be in the loop!
The following procedures apply until there are 3 players remaining. There may be twists that slightly affect these events, but you can expect that most of the game will occur as follows.

The Head of Household Competition (24 hrs.)
Each round of the game (called a "week", after how long each round takes in the show) begins with a Head of Household (HoH) Competition. The winner of this competition is that week's HoH. They are safe for the week, are not allowed to compete for HoH the following week, and will lead the following ceremony...

The Nominations Ceremony (4 hrs.)
The HoH is responsible for naming two nominees for eviction at the Nomination Ceremony. The HoH has 4 hours from winning the HoH Competition to decide who to nominate. At the end of that time, the HoH announces those nominees and puts them “on the block". One of these two nominees may be eliminated from the game at the end of the week.

The Veto Draw and Competition (20 hrs.)
A nominee may be at risk of being eliminated, but they have a chance to save themselves by winning the Power of Veto (PoV). The winner of this competition earns the power to remove one of the nominees from the block. Only six players participate in the Veto Competition: the HoH, the two nominees, and three other players selected by random draw. This draw includes each remaining house guests' name and three draws titled "HoH Choice", "Nom #1 Choice", and "Nom #2 Choice". If any of the latter three draws are pulled, the corresponding house guest selects the house guest of their choice to participate in the Veto Competition.

The Veto Meeting (4 hrs.)
At the Veto Meeting, the winner of the Veto Competition announces how they’d like to use their PoV. They can take either nominee off the block (including themselves, if they are a nominee), or leave the nominations intact. If a nominee is removed from the block, the HoH selects a new player as the replacement nominee. This replacement cannot be the HoH themselves, the PoV winner, or the person removed from the block by the PoV winner.

The Eviction Vote (20 hrs.)
The resulting nominees now face the possibility of eviction. All players except the HoH and the two nominees cast a vote to evict one of the two nominees. The nominee that receives the most votes is evicted and eliminated from the game. In the case of a tie vote, the HoH would publicly cast a final vote to evict one of the two nominees.
The finale begins when there are 3 players remaining. The finale week's events are very different from those of weeks prior.

The Final Head of Household Competition (48 hrs.)
The final eviction of the game takes place when there are three players remaining in the game. This round works differently: instead of an HoH and Veto competition, there is a three part Final Head of Household competition. All remaining players are eligible to compete, and all players will compete in part one of the competition. The winner will advance to the third part of the final HoH competition. The two remaining players compete in part two, for the chance to advance to part three. The winner of part three will be declared the final HoH.

The Final Eviction Vote (4 hrs.)
Since there are only two eligible people to be eliminated, no nominations ceremony or PoV competition takes place. Instead, the final HoH will choose between the two other remaining houseguests to decide who will be eliminated.

Speech Writing (20 hrs.)
The final two houseguests will then face the Jury, made up of the last nine evicted players. They will have to convince the Jury why they deserve to win the game over their competitor. Each finalist is encouraged to write an opening statement speech on why they deserve to win the game.

Jury Vote (24 hrs.)
Following opening statements, each Jury member will have the opportunity to ask the finalists questions. They may say or ask whatever they want. An open and public dialogue may occur, and back-and-forth conversations with many members is encouraged. At the end of 24 hours, all jurors must submit their vote for the winner. The finalist with more votes is declared the winner of the season.

Finally, here is a list of the prizes given out:

Second Place: $10 USD
