[OVERVIEW]

Dark
========

Boasting high Attack and Speed, Mega Sharpedo is a staple sweeper on many Dark teams. It has Speed Boost before Mega Evolving, which allows it to sweep teams late-game, and it has Strong Jaw after Mega Evolving to make STAB Crunch hit incredibly hard. Mega Sharpedo has access to useful coverage moves such as Ice Fang and Psychic Fangs that are also boosted by Strong Jaw and hit its checks like Hydreigon and Keldeo. It works best on hyper offensive teams because it benefits a lot from the pressure and momentum its teammates employ on other threats. However, Mega Sharpedo requires the opposing team to be weakened for a successful sweep. It also needs boosts from Speed Boost, which requires it to run Protect, meaning that Sharpedo loses out on a necessary coverage move. It is quite frail and has difficulty taking even resisted attacks. Finally, status effects like paralysis and burn can easily prevent Mega Sharpedo from sweeping.

Moves
========

Protect allows Sharpedo to safely activate Speed Boost prior to Mega Evolving. Crunch is a hard-hitting STAB move that is boosted by Strong Jaw, and it also has a chance to lower the foe's Defense. Waterfall is a secondary STAB move with a chance to cause a flinch that hits Ground- and Fire-types like Hippowdon and Heatran. Psychic Fangs is boosted by Strong Jaw and hits Poison-types like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex, while Ice Fang is also boosted by Strong Jaw and is used to target Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Garchomp.

Set Details
========

Sharpedonite is required to Mega Evolve. Speed Boost is used so Sharpedo can boost its Speed and sweep teams late-game. Maximum Attack and Speed EVs are used so Sharpedo can outspeed threats like Landorus and Mega Medicham and hit as hard as possible. Jolly is chosen over Adamant so +1 Sharpedo can outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Victini and Nihilego.

Usage Tips
========

Make sure checks like Skarmory and Tapu Fini are weakened prior to Mega Evolving because Mega Sharpedo will generally only have one chance to sweep. However, don't be afraid to use Sharpedo without Mega Evolving it, as it can still function as an effective revenge killer. If Mega Sharpedo is forced to switch out after Mega Evolving and no longer has Speed Boost, it can still wallbreak effectively with Strong Jaw-boosted Crunch. Try to avoid switching Sharpedo directly into attacks because of its poor defenses. Instead, bring it in safely with U-turn or after a teammate faints. Protect is not only used for gaining a Speed Boost but can also be used to scout for coverage moves or avoid damage from Fake Out users. Although using Protect two turns in a row only has a one-in-three chance of being successful, it is necessary to gain an extra Speed Boost against Choice Scarf users like Terrakion and Gengar. Avoid letting Mega Sharpedo get hit by status moves and keeping it in against common status spreaders like Mew and Porygon2 because a Will-O-Wisp from the former or a Thunder Wave from the latter can prevent Mega Sharpedo from successfully sweeping.

Team Options
========

Bisharp resists Grass, can KO most Fairy-types with Iron Head, and shares many of the same checks and counters as Sharpedo, allowing one to weaken them and the other to sweep. Hydreigon resists Electric and Grass and can punch holes through physical walls like Swampert, making it easier for Mega Sharpedo to sweep. Greninja can deal with many of Mega Sharpedo's checks with various coverage moves, notably Extrasensory to hit Mega Venusaur. This also allows Sharpedo to use Ice Fang instead of Psychic Fangs. Mandibuzz is neutral to Bug and Fighting and resists Grass, and it can pivot into many physical attacks aimed at Sharpedo as well as use Defog to remove entry hazards. It can use U-turn to safely bring in Sharpedo as well. Tyranitar can pivot into most special attacks with relative ease as well as set Stealth Rock, which can provide valuable chip damage and put foes in range of being KOed by Mega Sharpedo. Krookodile is another Stealth Rock setter that is a check to Electric-types. Alolan Muk is an excellent check to Fairy-types and can also beat Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu.

Other Options

Dark
--------
A set with Life Orb and Hydro Pump / Crunch / Ice Beam / Protect can be used; however, it is noticeably weaker and is outclassed by other special attackers like Greninja and Hydreigon. Destiny Bond is an option to remove opposing threats with a surprise KO. Poison Jab can be used to hit Fairy-type switch-ins like Tapu Bulu. However, both of these require Mega Sharpedo to forgo a valuable coverage option.

Checks and Counters
===================

Dark
--------
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types like Tapu Bulu and Clefable can take attacks from Sharpedo with relative ease, although Poison Jab OHKOes Tapu Bulu, and Clefable cannot switch in.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types like Keldeo and Breloom resist Dark and can KO Mega Sharpedo easily with their Fighting-type STAB moves, although they will be OHKOed or 2HKOed by Psychic Fangs.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Physical walls such as Skarmory and Porygon2 avoid a 2HKO from Crunch, and Mega Sharpedo is threatened out by Counter from the former and Thunderbolt from the latter.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn resist Water and can easily KO Mega Sharpedo with their Grass-type STAB attacks.

**Priority**: Mega Sharpedo's poor defenses leave it vulnerable to strong priority like Breloom's Mach Punch and Choice Band Dragonite's Extreme Speed.

**Faster Pokemon**: Although Sharpedo has Speed Boost, it can still be outsped at +1 by Choice Scarf users such as Terrakion

**Status**: Burns and paralysis stop Sharpedo in its tracks by halving its Attack and halving its Speed, respectively.

Nothing has really changed since I wrote the skeleton for it, so I just converted it to sentences and changed a little bit. Ready for QC.

Overview:
"However, using Mega Sharpedo means that other Mega Evolutions can't be used, like Mega Sableye, which means that it only works on hyper offensive teams."
- I don't think Mega Sableye should really be mentioned. It doesn't necessarily mean other Mega Evolutions can't be used it's that Mega Sharpedo just doesn't do that well in other playstyles compared to offense. I think it should go as: "Mega Sharpedo only works best on hyper offensive teams because it benefits a lot from the pressure and momentum its teammates employ on other threats."

Usage Tips:
"Try to avoid switching Sharpedo into attacks because of its poor defenses, although it is bulkier after Mega Evolving."
- Mega Sharpedo will still have a tough time with its bad defenses. Say how it should come after a U-turn or a teammate fainting.

Team Options:
- Krookodile being another good offensive partner paired with Mega Sharpedo in setting Stealth Rock since Krookodile is generally used on offensive teams of Dark too and its Ground typing being able to check Electric-types.
- Mandibuzz being slow to generate U-turn momentum for a safe switch-in.

Nice job
