RMT of the Week
co-hosted with Sun, IronBullet and Snowy.
Want your team noticed by a lot of people? Do you want all the efforts you put into testing your team and writing up your RMT to count? This is where RMT of the Week comes in! The aim of this project is to give people who put effort into making quality RMTs the attention they deserve. There are a lot of teams out there that are well-built and presented, but often left in the dark. Not anymore!

Concept
  • Every week, we will nominate a few teams as candidates for the RMT of the Week.
  • These teams are put in a poll. Everyone can vote for the team they think is most deserving of the award.
  • At the end of the week, the winner will be the team that receives the most votes.
Prizes

So what's in it for the winners? Well, the winning team will be announced on social media. It will also be recorded in the Hall of Fame, which will be posted in the OP for each week, and people are encouraged to rate it. Winning the RMT of the Week also increases the chance of having your RMT added to the Team Showcase, subject to review, since it brings it to the notice of the staff. Finally, the winner will have an opportunity to give a brief interview.

RMT Requirements
  • Make sure your team is viable and effective: This one is self-explanatory. If your team doesn't fit into its tier or metagame, or lacks any kind of success, it won't have a high chance of being selected. It doesn't have to be archive worthy though, and it doesn't have to have peaked at #1; a moderately successful team can make it, but it has to work.
  • Your team should be well-presented: Wouldn't you enjoy posting in a thread more if it was visually appealing? If you put effort into presenting your team attractively, people will be more willing to rate it. We appreciate it when you take time to improve the quality of your RMTs, as it enhances the quality of the forum.
  • Be nice and receptive to people's opinions: No one likes to rate the team of a close-minded person!
For those whose teams are selected, don't ask anyone, be it friends or anyone else, on the forums or on PS! to vote for you. For friends of the people whose teams get selected, the same goes for you as well: please don't post the link in chat rooms to try and get people to vote.

The first time someone is caught cheating, their team will be disqualified and removed from the ongoing week. If someone is caught cheating for a second time, they will be permanently banned from the project.

We caught up with Week 1's winner Killua kun to ask him some questions about his Ubers RMT Lack-two's Ice:

1. Can you give a brief description of your team? What do you think is the reason behind its success?

The team was born randomly while I wasn't even at home xD. A question came to my mind... "Can Arceus-Ice have a niche?" Thinking about all its advantages and disadvantages, I said to myself "Ok, it takes 25% from Stealth Rocks, but we're still talking about a pokémon with 120 base in every stat, an impressive offensive presence and a reliable coverage..." Then I decided to create a really unexpected set: my opponent can't clearly predict the type of my Arceus during the preview, so it could be surprised by Arceus-Ice, and in it sounds like a really effective Pokèmon, since the whole metagame lacks of a reliable ice resist. Its pseudo-checks are hit by its huge coverage (Thunder for Kyogre and Fire Blast for Magearna/Aegislash). Every other Pokémon takes hard damages, especially with Stealth Rocks on the field.
252 SpA Icicle Plate Arceus-Ice Judgment vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Groudon-Primal: 204-240 (50.6 - 59.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Arceus-Ice Thunder vs. 180 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 170-202 (44 - 52.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Icicle Plate Arceus-Ice Judgment vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Zygarde-100%: 780-916 (122.6 - 144%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Arceus-Ice Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Magearna: 148-176 (40.6 - 48.3%) -- 8.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Icicle Plate Arceus-Ice Judgment vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Yveltal: 374-444 (82.1 - 97.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

2. Have you received any useful feedback for your team?

To be honest I'm rly stubborn about fixes. I really appreciate people helping me with a rmt, but I rarely step back editing sets or pokémon. That's prolly 'cause I build my teams following a particular logic, I'd say.

3. Is there any advice you'd like to give to RMT posters?

Sure! Post a RMT is like post a piece of yourself and share it with the others! If you're proud of one of the teams you built, don't exitate and post it! It's a good way to improve it even more and get new friends! And I'd suggest a good graphic too: a team that works is important, but appearance counts too!

4. What are your thoughts regarding SM Ubers?

I find it more enjoyable than oras, for sure. With the addition of new threats such as Zygarde and Magearna, to manage with certain strong pokémons became easier. Bulky Zygarde is really scary for Ho-Oh, tanking even hard hits like CB BBird. Heart Swap Magearna offers protection against Geomancy Xerneas.
I can say the metagame is funny and you can build without all those limitations. Yveltal and other dark pokémons are really important now cause of Lunala and Arceus-Ghost. You have to be prepared, but you can rely on normal mons (in an offensive sight, obv) if you don't want to use Dark mons. In SM primal mons are clearly even stronger than before, without soul dew Latios or Latias, especially Groudon. Their spam force you to use defensive Water/Dragon/Ground arceus or giratina, but it could still be dangerous with certain unexpected sets. Kyogre is really strong involved into Volturn teams, switching on various Groudon/Ho-Oh and taking home a easy kill with Origin Pulse but there are water checks such as Dialga, Plakia, Gastrodon and Ferrothorn in order to stop it somehow.Another funny thing is Dark Void-less Darkrai, which allows you to play even without sleep talk or sleep absorbers like in ORAS.

I would like to s/o Snou and NaCl for the support that they gave me :)

Thanks for taking the time to do this and congrats again!
