[OVERVIEW]

Quagsire’s plethora of admirable defensive traits, such as its great typing, decent physical bulk, reliable recovery, and Unaware ability, allows it to maintain a niche on stall-based teams as a reliable check to threatening setup sweepers such as Mega Absol and Cobalion. Quagsire’s Electric-type immunity and key resistances to Fire-, Steel-, and Rock-type moves alongside its access to Toxic also allow it to take full advantage of Unaware to tank various physical hits, stall foes, and overall fit very comfortably on defensive teams. Unfortunately, Quagsire’s 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks leaves it extremely vulnerable to the likes of Celebi, Roserade, and Mega Sceptile, as well as to common carriers of Grass-type coverage such as Infernape and Heliolisk. Furthermore, Quagsire’s middling mixed bulk leaves it susceptible to special attackers and especially powerful physical attackers such as Crawdaunt and Haxorus, and its passiveness makes Swampert a better decision on non-stall teams. Overall, Quagsire is a rather niche option that only fits on very defensive teams, but can be very beneficial for its teammates as a stop to certain setup sweepers.

Moves

Scald allows Quagsire to burn physical attackers such as Swords Dance Lucario and Mega Absol, and Earthquake is a decently powerful secondary STAB attack that allows Quagsire to hit threats such as Chandelure and Empoleon for fair damage. Recover allows Quagsire to remain healthy throughout the match as well as stall foes out after inflicting status on them. Lastly, Toxic can be used to punish Quagsire’s common switch-ins in Hydreigon and Mega Blastoise; it aids Quagsire greatly in stalling these Pokemon out.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in HP and Defense allow Quagsire to make as much use of its physical bulk as possible and reliably tank powerful physical attacks, such as Cobalion's Close Combat and Krookodile's Earthquake. A Relaxed nature is preferred, as it further increases Quagsire's physically defensive prowess while only taking away from its Speed, which it won't often rely on. Leftovers provides Quagsire with passive recovery at the end of every turn, which is important for avoiding 2HKOs from the likes of Mamoswine and Mega Swampert and retaliating with Toxic or Scald.

Usage Tip
========

It is best to avoid status conditions when using Quagsire, as burn slowly wears it down and Toxic puts it on an undesirable timer. Quagsire should be switched into physical setup sweepers, as its impressive physical bulk and ability allow it to reliably tank the hits of most physical setup sweepers that are known to threaten stall. Unless it is resisted or immune, Quagsire should almost never come in on special attacks due to its poor Special Defense and lack of investment. Toxic and Recover are both good options when predicting the opponent to switch, as Quagsire will be able to either cripple the opponent's switch-in or recover its health and switch out. Due to narrowly avoiding 2HKOs from the likes of Jolly Lucario and Crawdaunt, Quagsire should usually be preserved and close to full health before these threats are brought out in order to adequately check them.

Team Options
========

Blissey is a great partner for Quagsire, as it is able to reliably switch into the special attacks Quagsire hates taking, such as any of Celebi's STAB attacks, Hydreigon's Dark Pulse, and Heliolisk's Grass Knot. Furthermore, Blissey is able to utilize its access to Heal Bell to heal Quagsire of any status ailments it's been hit with. Other specially bulky Pokemon, such as Porygon2 and Goodra, are also able to tank certain hits for Quagsire quite well. Pokemon that are able to tank Grass-type attacks, such as specially defensive Bronzong and Mega Aggron, are able to help compensate for Quagsire's 4x Grass weakness. Given their access to Heal Bell, Sylveon and Umbreon also make for good partners, as they are able to heal status ailments Quagsire is burdened with during a match. Additionally, both are able to provide decent offensive presence in the forms of Pixilate Hyper Voice and Foul Play, which can help compensate for Quagsire's lack of power. Quagsire is easily worn down by entry hazards, so it appreciates Defog or Rapid Spin support from the likes of Gligar, Mandibuzz, and Forretress. Roserade and Chesnaught both function as decent semi-stall partners for Quagsire, as both are able to come in on Grass-type attacks that it hates taking as well as provide it with Leech Seed support. Sableye is also able to function as a semi-stall partner for Quagsire, as it is able to invest in Special Defense and form a decent defensive core to help Quagsire with its low Special Defense. Additionally, Sableye can cripple especially powerful physical attackers that are able to break Quagsire, such as Lucario and Haxorus, with priority Will-O-Wisp.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Curse can be used to boost Quagsire's Defense to extremely high levels as well as give its Earthquake a bit more power, though Quagsire usually prefers Toxic to hit Pokemon immune to Scald burns and is outdone as a Curse user by Gastrodon. Haze can also be used in order to remove the stat boosts of Pokemon that may use Quagsire as setup fodder, such as Suicune and Haxorus. However, Suicune is able to stall Quagsire out with Pressure, and Haxorus is capable of 2HKOing Quagsire unboosted, so this generally isn't preferred over Toxic. Encore is another option that can be used to lock entry hazard setters or status spreaders into their non-attacking moves, though this is hard to pull off given Quagsire's low Speed.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-type Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile, Chesnaught, and Mega Abomasnow can reliably switch into either of Quagsire's STAB attacks and OHKO it with their respective super effective STAB attacks. Celebi and Roserade in particular are good counters, as they can OHKO Quagsire with Giga Drain and use Natural Cure to relieve any status conditions they've been inflicted with.

**Powerful Special Attackers**: Powerful special attackers like Kyurem and Sylveon can threaten to OHKO or 2HKO Quagsire with their respective STAB attacks due to its poor Special Defense.

**Taunt**: Common wielders of the move Taunt such as Hydreigon, Sableye, and Mega Aerodactyl can all outspeed and shut Quagsire down, as it will be restricted to two rather weak attacks and have no way of recovering bar Leftovers.

**Status**: Quagsire is easily worn down by common status ailments in burn and poison, as the former will chip wear it down, and the latter will force it to use Recover after it takes too much residual damage.

**Haxorus**: Haxorus's access to Mold Breaker allows it to use Quagsire as setup fodder and threaten to OHKO after just one Swords Dance or Dragon Dance boost. Furthermore, Haxorus scoffs at Quagsire's attempts inflict status given that it frequently holds a Lum Berry.

This is very well done. Only thing I can think of at this moment is adding some more team options in the form of Roserade, Chesnaught, and Sableye make for some interesting semi-stall partners.

Decided to add Conkeldurr as a counter since its Guts ability pretty much allows it to not worry about anything that Quagsire will have in its arsenal. Let me know if there are any concerns! :)
Guts Conk actually loses to toxic unaware, so remove that entirely. You also added it to team options for some reason, and you left out sableye in team options. Make these changes and you'll get 1/3

Proposed changes in bold. Also, you should post when you make the changes so that those of us who have the forum/thread Watched get an alert when they're done.

[OVERVIEW]

* Has a glaring weakness to Grass-type moves, which means that Celebi’s presence hinders it and it must be aware of possible Grass type coverage from the likes of Infernape, Heliolisk and Chandelure.
Change this to something like: Weakness to Grass-type moves leaves it vulnerable to strong Grass-type attackers such as Celebi and Mega Sceptile, as well as Grass-type coverage from..
* Is very prone to Special Attacks given its poor Special Defense.
Change this to: mediocre bulk means it struggles to check strong attackers, especially on the Special side.
* Is only viable on Stall teams, as it faces stiff competition from Swampert on other archetypes.
Expand on this a bit: why is it only viable on stall teams? (Because it is very passive.)
* Is threatened by prevalent threats in Sylveon, Celebi, Conkeldurr and Mega Sceptile.
I'd roll this line into the bullet point about it being unable to check strong attackers. Also, see King UU's comment re: Conkeldurr (though it still loses to CB Conk).
* Unlike Swampert, is unable to lay hazards down or damage bulkier threats due to its slight lack of an offensive presence.
Redundant; roll this into the above bullet about it being too passive for most teams.

Add something about vulnerability to status when listing its drawbacks.

Moves
========
* Scald allows Quagsire to burn physical attackers such as Swords Dance Lucario and Doublade.
Lucario's inclusion feels a bit odd considering that it is also hit hard by EQ - maybe mention something else like Mega Absol, Krookodile, Mega Aerodactyl, etc. (Doublade is fine to stay here since it takes such piddly damage from EQ.)
* Earthquake is a decently powerful secondary STAB that allows Quagsire to hit threats such as Chandelure and Empoleon for fair damage.
You can roll Lucario in here if you still want to keep a mention.
* Recover allows Quagsire to remain healthy throughout the match as well as stall opponents out after statusing them.
* Toxic can be used to punish Quagsire’s common switch ins in Hydreigon and Mega Blastoise and aid Quagsire greatly in stalling these pokemon out

Set Details
========
* 252 EVs in HP and Defense allow Quagsire to make as much use of its physical bulk as possible, and enable it to reliably tank powerful physical attacks, such as Cobalion's Close Combat and Krookodile's Earthquake.
* A Relaxed nature is preferred, as it further increases Quagsire's physically defensive prowess whilst only taking away from its speed, which as a defensive pokemon, it won't often rely on.
* Leftovers provides Quagsire with passive recovery at the end of every turn, which is important for surviving 2HKOs from the likes of Mamoswine and Mega Swampert and retaliating back with either Toxic or Scald.
Take out the bit about "retaliate back with Toxic or Scald," since you actually can't do that to Mamo (you take ~45-55 on the switch and have to keep spamming recover), just say that Leftovers provides passive recovery and allows Quagsire to avoid said 2HKOs.

Usage Tips
========
* It is best to avoid status conditions when using Quagsire, as burn negates it leftovers and toxic puts it on an undesirable timer.
* Quagsire should be switched into physical set up sweepers, as its impressive physical bulk and ability allow it to reliably tank the hits of most physical set up sweepers that are known to threaten stall.
* Unless it is resisted or immune, Quagsire should almost never come in on Special Attacks due to its poor Special Defense and lack of investment.
* Toxic and Recover are both good options when predicting the opponent's switch, as Quagsire will be able to either cripple the opponent's switch in or recover its health and switch out.
* Due to narrowly avoiding 2HKOs from the likes of Jolly Lucario and Crawdaunt, Quagsire should usually be preserved and close to full health before these threats are brought out in order to adequately check them.
* Quagsire can make use of its Electric immunity to switch into the likes of Choice Specs Heliolisk and Porygon2 and either hit these Pokemon for good damage with Earthquake or cripple them with status.
Not sure that I like this bullet - P2 isn't really a thing that needs to be checked on stall, and Helio does a whopping 70% min with Hyper Voice, so it's a hell of a risk to try to catch a Volt Switch.

Team Options
========
* Blissey is a great partner for Quagsire, as she is able to reliably switch into the Special Attacks Quagsire hates taking, such as any of Celebi's STABs, Hydreigon's Dark Pulse and Heliolisk's Grass Knot. Other Specially bulky Pokemon, such as Porygon2 or Goodra, are able to tank certain Special hits for Quagsire quite well.
Also mention that Blissey gets Heal Bell, which is a big help for Quagsire.
* Pokemon that are able to tank Grass type attacks, such as Specially Defensive Bronzong or Mega Aggron, are able to help compensate for Quagsire's big Grass weakness.
* Although uncommon on Stall-oriented archetypes, Conkeldurr is able to switch into predicted status move for Quagsire thanks to Guts.
* Given their access to Heal Bell, Sylveon and Umbreon are able to heal status ailments Quagsire could potentially be burdened with during a match. Additionally, both are able to provide decent offensive presence in the forms of Pixilate Hyper Voice and Foul Play, which can help compensate for Quagsire's lack of power.
* Quagsire is easily worn down by entry hazards, and as a result appreciates Defog or Rapid support from the likes of Gligar, Forretress and Mandibuzz.
* Roserade and Chesnaught both function as decent semi-stall partners for Quagsire, as both are able to come in on Grass type attacks that it hates taking as well as provide it with Leech Seed support.
* Sableye is also able to function as a semi-stall partner for Quagsire, as it is able to invest in Special Defense and form a decent defensive core to help Quagsire with its Special Defense problem. Additionally, Sablye can cripple especially powerful physical attackers that are able to break Quagsire, such as Lucario or Haxorus, with priority Will-O-Wisp.

* Haze can be used to remove the stat boosts of Pokemon that may use Quagsire as set up fodder, such as Suicune and Haxorus. However, Suicune is able to stall Quagsire out with Pressure, and Haxorus is capable of 2HKOing Quagsire unboosted, so this generally isn't preferred over Toxic.
* Curse can be used to boost Quagsire's Defense to extremely impressive levels, as well as give its Earthquake a bit more power. However, Quagsire usually prefers Toxic to hit Pokemon immune to Scald Burns and is out done as a Curse user by Gastrodon.
Make this the first OO, as Curse is actually one of the better options (means you're not forced into PP stalling Reuni, and makes you way less vulnerable to things like Adamant Mamo/Daunt, who 2HKO you otherwise.
* Encore can be used to lock hazard setters or status spreaders onto their non-attacking moves, though this is hard to pull off given Quagsire's low speed.
* Water Absorb allows Quagsire to effectively check the many bulky water types of the tier, though this is better done by Gastrodon or Seismitoad.
Don't mention this at all. There is literally no reason to use Water Absorb Quagsire ever.
* Rocky Helmet allows Quagsire to punish physical attackers, though this usually isn't worth the lack of Leftovers recovery.
I'd also take this out, as removing Lefties means you get 2HKO'd by things like Lucario, Mamo and Crawdaunt, and have a >50% chance you'll lose 1v1 to Entei (Sacred Fire has a 53% chance to 3HKO if it burns on the first hit and you don't have Lefties).
Make these changes and you'll have my 2/3.

Small change; burning and poison do the same damage in gen 6, is it really necessarily to separate the two via "chip it down"? They both "chip down" the same unless toxic'ed.

**Taunt**: Common wielders of the move Taunt (RC) such as Hydreigon, Sableye, (AC) and Mega Aerodactyl can all outspeed and shut Quagsire down with the move, as it will be reduced to two rather weak attacks and have no way of recovering bar leftovers.

**Status**: Quagsire is easily worn down by common status ailments in burn and poison, as Burn the former will negate Leftovers and chip it down, (tdp: probs just "chip it down" on its own honestly) and Poison the latter will force it to use Recover after it takes too much residual damage.

**Haxorus**: Haxorus's access to Mold Breaker allows it to use Quagsire as set up setup fodder and threaten to OHKO after just one Swords Dance or Dragon Dance boost. Furthermore, Haxorus is able to scoff off Quagsire's attempts to status it given that it frequently holds a Lum Berry.

[OVERVIEW]

Quagsire’s access to a plethora of admirable defensive traits, such as its great typing, decent physical bulk, reliable recovery, and Unaware ability, allows it to maintain a niche on stall-based teams as a reliable check to threatening setup sweepers such as Mega Absol and Cobalion. Quagsire’s Electric-type immunity and key resistances to Fire-, Steel-, and Rock-type moves alongside its access to Toxic also allow it to take full advantage of Unaware to tank various physical hits, (comma) and stall foes, (comma) and overall fit very comfortably on defensive teams. Unfortunately, Quagsire’s 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks leaves it extremely vulnerable to the likes of Celebi, Roserade, and Mega Sceptile, as well as to common carriers of Grass-type coverage such as Infernape and Heliolisk. Furthermore, Quagsire’s middling mixed bulk leaves it susceptible to special attackers and especially powerful physical attackers such as Crawdaunt and Haxorus and special attackers, while and its passiveness makes Swampert a better decision on non-stall teams. Overall, Quagsire is a rather niche option that only fits on very defensive teams, but it can be very beneficial for its teammates as a stop to certain setup sweepers.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Scald allows Quagsire to burn physical attackers such as Swords Dance Lucario and Mega Absol, and Earthquake is a decently powerful secondary STAB attack that allows Quagsire to hit threats such as Chandelure and Empoleon for fair damage. Recover allows Quagsire to remain healthy throughout the match as well as stall foes out after stat using inflicting status on them. Lastly, Toxic can be used to punish Quagsire’s common switch-ins in Hydreigon and Mega Blastoise; (semicolon) it and aids Quagsire greatly in stalling these Pokemon out.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in HP and Defense allow Quagsire to make as much use of its physical bulk as possible and enable it to reliably tank powerful physical attacks, such as Cobalion's Close Combat and Krookodile's Earthquake, (comma) while the remaining EVs in Special Defense allow Quagsire to boost its Special Defense stat by a point. (unless this is important for avoiding a certain KO, it isn't needed) A Relaxed nature is preferred, as it further increases Quagsire's physically defensive prowess whilst while only taking away from its speed Speed, which, (comma) as a defensive Pokemon, it won't often rely on. Leftovers provides Quagsire with passive recovery at the end of every turn, which is important for avoiding 2HKOs from the likes of Mamoswine and Mega Swampert and retaliating with Toxic or Scald.

Usage Tip
========

It is best to avoid status conditions when using Quagsire, as burn negates its Leftovers and slowly chips it down, while slowly wears it down and Toxic puts it on an undesirable timer. Toxic and Recover are both good options when predicting the opponent's to switch, as Quagsire will be able to either cripple the opponent's switch-in or recover its health and switch out. Due to narrowly avoiding 2HKOs from the likes of Jolly Lucario and Crawdaunt, Quagsire should usually be preserved and close to full health before these threats are brought out in order to adequately check them.

Team Options
========

Quagsire is easily worn down by entry hazards, and as a result so it appreciates Defog or Rapid Spin support from the likes of Gligar, Mandibuzz, and Forretress.

Other Options
=============

Curse can be used to boost Quagsire's Defense to extremely high levels, (comma) as well as give its Earthquake a bit more power, though Quagsire usually prefers Toxic to hit Pokemon immune to Scald burns and is outdone as a Curse user by Gastrodon. Encore is another option that can be used to lock entry hazard setters or status spreaders into their non-attacking moves, though this is hard to pull off given Quagsire's low speed Speed.
