Project PU CCAT (Round 6 Nomination Stage)

We're pretty weak to quite a few things right now, and it's going to be very hard to fix that, but I have a nomination that should at least help a bit.

Throh @ Leftovers
Ability: Guts
EVs: 192 HP / 252 Atk / 32 Def / 32 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Storm Throw
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Toxic

Throh gives us several things we do not have at the moment. Our team lacks overall bulk, and while this isn't always a problem, we have two slow Pokemon and none that are particularly fast, so we have a bit of trouble switching into a lot of things. Throh gives us this, while also providing a solid switch-in to Sneasel, a Rock resist, as well as a decent switch in to other random things like Piloswine. Right now we're pretty weak to Electric types, opposing Throh, and fast Water-types, but Throh should still help a decent amount with other things.

And now for something completely different

how to: fix this team.

okay right now we're weak to (in relative order of how weak we are to it)

ninetales
rain dance poliwrath
simipour
stall
electric-types
probably other stuff

to fix this as well as I can, my plan is this:

-make carracosta an sr set
-make mr mime a scarf set
-change leafeon to roselia (this helps a lot with poliwrath, electric-types, and simipour, but it isn't an outright neccesary change)
-add this mon:

Tauros @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Climb
- Zen Headbutt
- Iron Tail
- Fire Blast

This gives us a second way to revenge Ninetales (third if we somehow fit Aqua Jet on Carracosta), as well as a way to beat stall, which is especially a concern if we drop Leafeon. In general, this team has a bit of trouble with fast things, but these changes should help quite a bit (at least more than anything else scorp and I could come up with)

I went 17:3 with my alt captain bruisin with this exact team today - noticed it had a few problems. It didn't have enough immediate speed. Yeah, Tauros, RP Regice and Scarf Mime are all fast, but it can't outspeed common scarfers like Raichu, Haunter, Tauros, etc. Also, while specially defensive roselia takes electric hits really well, this team still needs an electric immunity. The reason being, switching in Roselia to a predicted volt switch allows the other player to grab momentum. It wasn't always fatal, but I lost one match to a well-built team with a volt-turn core. Another problem was stealth rock / life orb recoil damage on Regice. It just hasn't put in much work for some reason. Perhaps someone else has had better luck with it on the ladder? The 3 losses today were due to Tauros missing an Iron Tail (lol go figure), WP Drifblim with Shadow Ball and Acrobatics, and a well-built volt-turn team. Otherwise, I like the team for the most part.

I don't have to take this. I'm going for a walk.

Thread has seen better days, but let's at least try to end this. First of all, Magnemite brung up some good points regarding the team's weaknesses especially regarding that Ninetales can take out half the team by itself. Second i believe that Sub+Bulk Up Gogoat could also be an option if you really wanna replace Leafeon. It can't outright switch into Ninetales or Simipour fearing being hit by Fire Blast or Ice Beam respectively, but can be an asset regardless while still providing a way to handle Poliwrath in theory as well as Raichu as with Scyther gone, Volt-Turn will be less prominent (even if CB Ninjask is used, you have Carracosta)which would lead to the team shifting from Hyper Offense to Bulky Offense. As far as the team as a whole is concerned, Tauros is the best choice for the last slot. Tauros does add another Fighting weakness to the team, however its natural speed combined with its coverage of moves plus Sheer Force + Life Orb allows it to handles all the threats mentioned above.

I'll just put a nomination here so Magnemite doesn't get left out if he feels like voting n_n.

Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp / Nasty Plot
- Taunt
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt

While it doesn't have immeadite hitting power, Misdreavus does act as a great spinblocker while also having Taunt to stop slower setup sweepers and Thunderbolt is to bash Pelipper before it tries to Defog. Also since Throh is already on the team, it makes a perfect Knock Off absorber for Missy. (We got two pokemon, vote so we can move on n_n.)
