Palkia is feared as a deity even in the VGC 2022 metagame. With its good bulk and defensive typing, Palkia can shrug off some of the most threatening attacks in the game such as Kyogre's Water Spout and Zacian-C's Behemoth Blade. Hydro Pump is immensely strong, taking down the likes of Incineroar, Charizard, and Landorus-T fairly easily. Max Geyser summoning rain also disrupts sun-focused teams. Spacial Rend deals relatively good damage to Water-resistant Pokemon such as Venusaur and Kyogre. Earth Power gives Palkia a solid way to take down Zacian-C in Max Quake, which also bolsters its Special Defense against the likes of Calyrex-S and Regieleki. Trick Room allows Palkia to bend the field to its team's whims, reversing Trick Room against slower targets such as Calyrex-I or setting it against faster foes like Regieleki and Zacian-C. Its bulk is optimized to survive a maximum Attack Zacian-C Play Rough when Palkia is Dynamaxed. Its Speed allows it to outspeed -2 Regieleki, making strong Max Airstream users like Landorus-T and Thundurus good partners. Zacian-C is also a valuable partner, with Palkia dealing with Landorus-T and Incineroar for Zacian-C to smash through the rest of the team.

Trick Room allows Palkia to bend the field to its teams whims, allowing it to reverse Trick Room against slower targets such as Calyrex-I or set it against faster foes like Regieleki and Zacian-C. Its bulk is optimised to live a max Attack Zacian-C Play Rough when Dynamaxed, allowing it to strike back and OHKO with Max Quake.(You did already sorta imply that Max Quake can do this earlier on.) Its Speed allows it to outspeed -2 Regieleki, making partners such as Grimmsnarl extremely potent.(We discussed this on discord.) It seems a little wrong to not mention Zacian-C, arguably its best Restricted partner who appreciates Palkia's ability to check Lando and incin. I'm aware this may trespass on word limit too much, so lmk if you have issue with this.)
