OM Teambuilding Shop V4 - under new ownership!

Choose a service:

1) Comprehensive Teambuild:
User provides 1-2 Pokemon to build around, and can request a playstyle.
Mechanics have the right to alter Pokemon to fit playstyle better.
(Our standard service by some of the best teambuilders available.)

2) Tune Up:
User posts completed team for minor tweaks and adjustments.
Should explain what's working/what's not working.
(Think of it as a mini-RMT.)

Meet the mechanics:
baconbagon Betathunder BIAF Chloe. Dream Eater Gengar dusk raimon
InfernapeTropius11 Kingslayer2779 Kris LaxLapras MAMP Megazard motherlove OM room Quantum Tesseract WhiteLion wishes Uselesscrab

Our terms and conditions:
  • You may request services for any metagame playable on Pokemon Showdown! Monotype teams should be requested in the Monotype subforum.
  • NEW: Teams for past and present Other Metagames of the Month and Leaders' Choices of the Month can be requested. However, these may take longer, especially for less popular metagames, so it is generally wiser to request a team for a current ladder.
  • For the Comprehensive Teambuild, post a core of up to two viable Pokemon. If you're not sure about the core's viability, refer to that OM's viability ranking (if it exists) or ask around on Pokemon Showdown!.
  • Mechanics have the right to decline or alter a core to make it viable.
  • Users who contribute good advice and volunteer their time consistently may be hired on as Mechanics.
  • If we don't have a Mechanic who matches your metagame, we will open the request up to the rest of the OM community.
  • Use this format when requesting a service:
    • Metagame:
    • Service: (1, 2, or 3)
    • Sprite(s) of Pokemon: (sprites can be found here, although feel free to use your own: http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/)
    • Sets: (required for the Tune Up)
    • Short Description: (why do you want this/these Pokemon? / why is the team not working?)
    • Playstyle: (for example, you can ask for a stall team if that is your preferred playstyle. But don't ask for Pokemon that don't fit that playstyle, such as stall with Mega Beedrill.)
Please wait at least a week before requesting a new service. We apologize if your team is never picked up, but please remember we may not have the Mechanic with the skills necessary to help. Thank you and come again!

Ok, I think I've found an underrated sweeper in STABmons in the form of Mold Breaker Excadrill (it can beat Quagsire 1 on 1), but I'm not sure how to build a team for it. Here's the set:

Excadrill @ Air Balloon / Lum Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shift Gear
- Gear Grind
- Precipice Blades / Earthquake
- Stealth Rock / Rock Slide / filler

Desc.: This thing has a great ability called Mold Breaker, which lets its plow through Unaware (not that it already beats Clefable) and can even set up rocks on Magic Bounce mons. Shift Gear and STABs are self-explanatory. Excadrill's good natural bulk also allows it to not be revenge killed by the likes of Talonflame and FakeSpeeders. Any playstyle works, though would prefer some type of offense.

Banned deucer.
Grandfathered requests from the old thread, setting them as Comprehensive Teambuild to start

Dr. Phd. BJ
Tier: STABmons

Possible Sets:
Recover + 3 attacks, Wish Passer, Rapid Spin Support, and Baton Pass download.
Reason: Mr. Duck is such a good mon in almost every tier with its astounding bulk with eviolite. It has pretty good abilities, speed control, and a surprisingly high special attacking stat (105). Porygon-2 is one of those few bulky pokes that can provide tremendous offensive pressure. 105 Special Attack with a special attack download boost is nothing to laugh at. STABmons gives it lots of great moves in Boomburst, Heal Bell, Rapid Spin and others.
Playstyle: Porygon-2 is so diverse, it can fit into any playstyle. I don't care the playstyle, as long as it is named Mr. Duck :^)

Chopin Alkaninoff
For a long time, I quit playing Tier Shift. With the ban of Landorus I and Gothitelle, I stopped playing Tier Shift because I struggled to find anything to break Stall. The dominance of Stall keeps me away from playing Tier Shift until now.

So, after quitting Tier Shift for a long time, I am trying to get back to it again with the introduction of a new poke. I am currently trying to build a team based on this poke, but struggled with it. Because no one seems to know what's the best set of this poke (yet), ignore this request if it's too hard or seems unreasonable.

Item: I'd prefer Life Orb, but if Leftovers or Scarf is better, then feel free to change it.

Deoxys-Speed @ Lum Berry
Ability: Turboblaze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dark Void
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

Description: Actually I wanted to adapt this team after the Primals ban, as it was the best team I've ever made. However, it went bad and I never got to ladder again. Since then, I struggle to build a successful team. On the mons, Mega Rayquaza is here because it is my favorite viable mon in the tier (Sacred Fire is the Steel-killing move of choice because the burn chance is cool and helps checking Imposter). Deoxys-S does not make a core with it, but it is a very good lead and I really like this set I made, as it is still very effective and catches most mons off-guard, so for now I've been using it on every team and I'm very happy with the results.
Playstyle: Any kind of offense

I am trying to build an offensive psychic monotype team around these two these two

Medicham-Mega @Medichamite Deoxys-speed @lightclay
Ability:Pure Power Abillity: Pressure
Evs: 4hp 252 Attack 252 Speed Evs: 252 hp 4 Def 252 Spe
Jolly Nature Timid Nature
-Bullet Punch -Light screen
-Thunder Punch/Ice Punch -Reflect
-Fake Out -Stealth rocks
-Zen Headbutt -Taunt

Description: The reason I want it to be these two are that deoxys-speed works as an effective lead being able to out-speed most pokemon in the tier being able to setup stealth rocks and with my set dual screens with light clay. But it is countered by diancie where medicham comes in Mega-medicham can easily kill diancie with bullet punch. However medicham is easy to revenge kill with almost anything. This leaves threats like Fast Flying types bulky fairies etc. I want to create a team like this to try out new playstyle
Playstyle: Offensive

First new request!

  • Metagame: Balanced Hackmons
  • Service: 1

  • Sets: Magic Bounce Mega Audino + Pivot Sturdinja
  • Short Description: After Primal Groudon got banned in BH, I've had a lack of a good team, so I figured I might as well have a new stall team. In my last team, Mega Audino was a wonderful wall, so I figured that I should use it again. As for Magic Bounce, it provides an answer to most of Sturdinja's weaknesses as a pivot, providing a wonderful core.
  • Playstyle: Stall

  • Metagame: Monotype (Psychic)
  • Service: 1

  • Sets: Bulky Wish Support Mega-Latias + Will-o-Wisp Bulky Victini
  • Short Description: I really want a Psychic team that is centered around the bulky Mega Latias and a sorta gimmicky Victini set. I figured Mega Latias's great bulk, immunity to Toxic Spikes and Spikes, and good typing would make it a great Pokemon for Wish support, and bulky Will-O-Wisp Victini could catch a lot of Pokemon (such as Bisharp) off-guard. I'm hoping the other members can provide Heal Bell support as well as be able to stall fairly well.
  • Playstyle: Stall

IVs: 0 Atk

Short Description: Chansey and M-Maw together beat a large range of pokemon, with pokemon capable of beating the duo restricted to: Faster M-Maw, Aegislash, Deo-D, Rhyperior, Babiri Whimsicott, some Mew, Smeargle, Venusaur, steel-type FEAR, Rest mons capable of beating Maw and with >301 HP or immunity to seismic toss, and a few others. Given the wide range of threats in 1v1, this is a very small list. Chansey can bluff being able to beat Maw with twave, but loses to an opponent who knows the set. Sableye would appear to beat many of these counters, but its weak presence and low damage from Metal Burst make it a weak choice. Salamence powers through a number of threats with sub helping against a number of others, but doesn't have amazing synergy.

Playstyle: I prefer less stally mons simply because Chansey loses to crits so often. That said, any mon that helps the team is probably a good option, the team doesn't need to fit any one playstyle.

Uh i don't think you are supposed to post 1v1 teams, but if articuno l is allowed, could i help with it?
This is service two, as Articuno l stated. From the OP:

OP said:
2) Tune Up: User posts completed team for minor tweaks and adjustments. Should explain what's working/what's not working. Build time: 2-3 days.
(Think of it as a mini-RMT.)

Articuno I, here's what I immediately thought of:

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Outrage

It beats:

Faster M-Maw, Aegislash, Deo-D (depends on rolls and the set, though), Rhyperior (if the opponent uses Rock Wrecker), Babiri Whimsicott, some Mew, Smeargle, Venusaur, steel-type FEAR (it beats Probopass, but not Aron, though Mega Mawile beats Sandstorm Aron already), Rest mons capable of beating Maw and with >301 HP or immunity to seismic toss (Substitute + Dragon Dance defeats most of these, right?)
Other Pokemon that give your team trouble that Substitute Mega Charizard X can beat include Victini, Ferrothorn, Machamp and Infernape.

You can also consider running a bulkier spread with Will-o-Wisp to better handle Rhyperior and FEAR Pokemon, as well as the rare Specs Keldeo, which beats your team. However, in exchange, it's easier for you to lose Deoxys-D, Mew, Rest Pokemon, and Mega Venusaur, so I think the fast Sub set is the best recommendation.

Pokemon you are still weak to even with this set: Some Deoxys-D, Some Rhyperior, Aron that have an attack over Sandstorm, Keldeo.

Feel free to offer any feedback you may have. I might come up with another solution to this problem at a later point in time.

Lugia @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 Hp / 136 Def / 88 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stored Power
- Grass Knot
- Quiver Dance
- Spore / Leech Seed

Tyranitar-Mega @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 Spe
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Substitute
- Power Whip
- Coil / Shift Gear

I wanted to use Stored Power to destroy lives at +9 or so. Obviously the bulkiest one was Lugia, so I decided to use it. For abilities only noobs use simple so I gave it poison heal to make it immune to status and be bulky. The EVs could be optimised but 88 speed is to outspeed M2Y at +1 and Spore/Leech Seed it. 124 speed on TTar is to outspeed M2Y at +2 with the shift gear set, but max hp max def should be used for the coil set. While Lugia CAN beat its impostor with Leech Seed + Poison Heal the at +18 stored power will be doing a lot (around 40 IIRC) and I don't want to get critted so here we have Sap Sipper TTar. It could also dent Lugia's counter like Fur Coat Eviolite Chansey. Grass Knot hits other TTar and MGyarados, 2 of the 3 common dark types in BH.

Obviously this core has a big problem in protean M2Y and M2X. Ghost Judgment and Secret Sword reks both of them and Bolt Strike + Precipice also beats it. Lugia can beat them however once it gets a couple of QDs up, and also can set up on Moonblast + Earth Power variants with spore. So basically Ghost/Fighting coverage kills this core and I'm having trouble finding a check to Ghost/Fighting M2Y. M2X could probably be dealt with by Giratina or something. Yveltal also walls this core. TTar also can't beat its impostor since after a few boost knock off breaks the sub. And this TTar has no recovery

Of course you can swap out TTar for mega gyarados for typing. Just give it sap sipper so it can still wall it. Maybe volt absorb works too but I see more TTar then Yveltal, so I would prefer sap sipper. It also gives immunity to spore IIRC

Play style: Balance/Balance Offense

Sorry for the non-bolding and maybe lack of sprite. This is my first post and I don't know and can't be bothered to read a guide right now.

This version of the team features two major edits, both of which solve your primary issues you had in practice.

To solve the lack of hazard removal, I decided to put Mandibuzz over Umbreon as they're pretty similar in terms of utility, with Umbreon having wish as an advantage but Mandi having Defog.

Cobalion over Virizion was a little more team altering (and to my fans (if that's what you wanna call Deathly ♛The King) unsurprising) but it solves the weakness to Tyrantrum, plus adding Stealth Rocks to the team! I opted for Sacred Sword as it's accurate and has no drawbacks, but you could go for any Fighting move.

The EVs are unpolished on the Mons I added, you may want to change them.

You're a bit weak to water with these edits, but not to a point where it can't be played around. Quagsire beats any that set up, Mime can walk stuff like keldeo, and everything is bulky so no problem. Overall, I think it'll be better.

Also Chopin Alkaninoff im working on the hoopa team but I have no clue what it runs, as I missed that release

Starting with the core you gave me and the sets, changed Mega Medicham Zen headbutt's move to Ice Punch as it grands an easier way to deal with bulky flying types that threatens the team such as Gliscor or Landorus. After that I slapped a Hoopa-Unbound, It's monstrous in today's meta that it deserves a spot in the team, I put on a band for the epitome of offense as you wish. The team needed a revenge killer and a scarfer, so I put Victini it already has great offensive stats and STAB move in V-create, I used blue flare to escape the drops when needed. Even though It's an offensive Psychic, no Psychic teams are good with Slowbro, but instead of using toxic stall slowbro, I used a calm mind set which can also help against flying, fire, ground. Meloetta is present to tank hits on the special defensive side and hit back harder.

First up is the core you requested, Skarmory and Articuno. Skarm is its classic physically defensive set, and is the team's Defogger. Roost is mandatory recovery, Whirlwind helps against set up sweepers, such as non-Hydro Pump Cloyster and SD Landorus-T, that can't touch Skarmory, and Iron Head is awesome in the Fairy-type matchup, OHKOing Mega Diancie (which can be a pain), as well as killing Mamoswine and Terrakion more quickly (although you wall Mamoswine anyway, SD or Band Terrakion can be annoying. Scarf is hardwalled, however). Articuno is specially defensive to tank Ice Beams for days, and I changed this set a bit. I removed Defog, cuz a Defogger 4x weak to rock is p bad imo if you can run something else (like Skarm :>). Roost is mandatory, and Heal Bell supports the team. Toxic stalls out opponents, while Freeze-Dry makes you not Taunt bait and hits bulky Water-types, such as Swampert and Gastrodon, hard. Landorus-T was originally a bulky physically defensive pivot, but faster setup mons and wallbreakers can sweep the team so I made it a Scarfer to check these mons (such as NP Thundurus and Mega Diancie). EdgeQuake is excellent coverage, U-Turn is amazing to pivot into your walls, and Knock Off threatens opposing stall teams by removing lefties, as well as helping your walls by removing power boosting items such as Choice Specs, Choice Band, and Life Orb. Mega Charizard X is the Mega of choice, and I went with the specially defensive WoW set as this is more of a stall team. The speed EVs outspeed positive natured base 70s, allowing you to Flare blitz Breloom to death and WoW Bisharp without fearing Sucker Punch (like you would if using Flare Blitz) or one of its other moves (like you would if you were slower). Flare Blitz on a stall mon may seem weird, but it is necessary to 2HKO Mega Sableye. Dragon Claw is an alternate STAB, and, once again, Roost is mandatory reliable recovery. Next up is the haxlord, Togekiss. TWave+Air Slash is an infamous combo that highly reduces the opposition's chance of moving, especially with Serene Grace. Togekiss is physically defensive to be able to handle Mega Medicham better, which can 2HKO the entire team. It is an easy switchin to HJK, but Ice Punch still 2HKOs. However, if you can get it in on a Fake Out or HJK, Air Slash with 24 SpA EVs is a guaranteed OHKO after Rocks against MegaCham. This mon can clean up many teams on its own, due to great bulk, reliable recovery, and an excellent means of haxing the opponent to death and/or enducing rage quits :) I chose Flamethrower in the final slot as coverage for Steel-types, however this can be exchanged for Defog if you want another Defogger, or you can run Dazzling Gleam for Dark and Dragon teams. Finally we have Gliscor. Gliscor is the team's Rocker, and forms a great physically defensive core with Skarmory. Toxic is great for stalling and STAB Earthquake conveniently hits the two types immune to Toxic, Poison and Steel, for Super Effective damage. Roost is Roost and Roost is amazing.

This 2HKOs or OHKOs the entire team :/ Togekiss can handle it with good prediction, however a well played Mega Medicham will almost always get a kill or two.

This monster demolishes almost all stall. Thankfully Landorus-T can easily revenge kill it.

Set: Technician Beat Up. It is capable of dealing a lot of damage and dark is such a great attacking type. I don't mind if you switch for another dark type or whether it's setup or choiced.
Short Description: I usually build stall/balance, so my team usually doesn't have enough attack stat to do sufficient damage. Also, having a pokemon statused or fainted makes it unable to participate in beat up, so it's tough to play without poison heal or saccing pokemon. Here are the beat up mechanics if you need them: http://pokemondb.net/move/beat-up
Note that despite what the website says, beat up doesn't make contact.
Playstyle: Any is fine.

- Hidden Power [Ice]

So first up is the Zard Y you requested, with the same set, functioning as a special wallbreaker. Nape is up next, providing hazards as well as Taunt to prevent opposing hazards. Endeavour allows you to cripple something in many cases, after being brought down to your sash, and Overheat is there to nuke something with the Blaze boost. Flare Blitz is another option if you would prefer to suicide with the Blaze boost and prevent the opponent from using Defog/Rapid Spin, but I prefer Overheat as it has more power, and the opponent will usually finish off Infernape anyway. If used correctly, you can possibly get up rocks, nuke something with Overheat, and then Endeavour something else, due to Infernape's high speed. Next up we have LO Entei, which is an excellent wallbreaker, spreading burns and finishing up weakened mons with ESpeed. It's a great partner to Infernape, as ESpeed guarantees a kill after Nape has used Endavour on the foe. Stone Edge and Bulldoze are coverage, and great in the mirror matchup and vs. Flying. Band Victini forms an awesome core with Entei, and stall is hard pressed to survive the onslaught from these two. V-Create is obvious, Bolt Strike nails bulky Waters, Zen Headbutt is a secondary STAB, and U-Turn. Next I added Rotom-H, as I needed a Scarfer and it forms a nice VoltTurn with Victini. Volt Switch and Overheat are self-explanatory, and Trick cripples walls. WoW rounds out the moveset, and is a tremendous help vs. Dragon teams. Finally, Volcarona acts as a late game cleaner, easily sweeping many teams. Quiver Dance is awesome on Volcarona, and Bug Buzz helps deal with Psychic and Dark. HP Ice is necessary imo, as mons like Garchomp (especially Scarf), Dragonite, Salamence, and Scarf Lando-T give the team a lot of trouble, as the first 3 can take most of the attacks of most of the team, and Scarf Lando-T outspeeds and KOs the entire team. Giga Drain is great so you can hit Mega Diancie after you set up a QD, as it otherwise walls you, and is a big threat to the team in general. The EVs are a little weird, but they have a purpose. The speed is enough to outspeed Scarf Lando-T and everything slower at +1, the HP maximizes mixed bulk, 56 Defense EVs allows it to survive a Choice Band Azumarill Aqua Jet from full health (this includes the drop from the IV you must forego in order to use HP Ice), with the rest tossed into special attack. You may have noticed that this team has no means of hazard removal--it relies solely on Taunt Nape and offensive pressure to prevent hazards from being set up. If you don't like this, you can add the standard Torkoal set in place of Infernape (I preferred using Nape, as Torkoal kinda halts momentum, but both are good choices).

Torkoal @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Yawn

Threats:
With Diamond Storm and Earth Power, this can straight up 6-0 the team. Your best bet is to set up Volcarona before it comes in, or hopefully catch it on the switch. Otherwise, it will get a kill, this is a fact, and it will most likely get multiple kills if played well. Rotom-H can outspeed it and do some damage with Volt Switch, but it can't even 2HKO 0/0- Mega Diancie with Volt Switch :/ (after two Volt Switches however, Entei can rk with ESpeed, but by then you will have sacked two of your mons rip).

The Scarf set outspeeds and 2HKOs the entire team. Specs outspeeds everything but Rotom-H and OHKOs most of the team. Once again, your best bet is to try and set up a Quiver Dance with Volcarona before it comes in, and Giga Drain it to death. Zard Y can also live a Specs Hydro Pump from full, in Sun, and kill with Solarbeam.

Due to Mental Herb and Sturdy, this will always get Rocks up, which is a problem if you run Infernape over Torkoal.
