Ogerpon-Wellspring (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 200 HP / 124 Atk / 184 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Horn Leech
- Follow Me
- Spiky Shield
Ogerpon-Wellspring's timid appearance masks a leviathan of the DOU metagame! While DOU may seem saturated with bulky Grass types, Ogerpon drowns out the competition with a combination of typing, ability, and access to a seemingly bottomless well of moves. Follow Me provides redirection that can both protect allies from powerful offensive moves and redirect Amoonguss' Spore to itself, rendering it harmless. Horn Leech and a special Special Defense boost on Tera provide recovery and bulk, perfectly complementing its Grass/Water typing to create a menace that can both redirect damage and threaten out Pokemon with its Ivy Cudgel. Ogerpon works best when it can support setup threats like Archaludon and Gouging Fire redirecting Ground type attacks away from them, giving them free reign to terrorize the battlefield. The speed on this spread makes Ogerpon just fast enough to outpace Landorus-I, scaring out the main spread Ground attacker. However, watch out! Ogerpon can't do much damage to Grass types like Rillaboom or Dragon types like Raging Bolt. Therefore, it appreciates teammates like Chien Pao and Gouging Fire which can threaten and remove foes that Ogerpon is unable to cover, preventing it from becoming setup fodder.
