Yoshi

IT'S FINK DUMBASS
[OVERVIEW]

Jynx is a very uncommon but very useful Pokemon to use in NU, having a decent speed tier, as well as having a high special attack stat. It has access to Lovely Kiss, which is a pretty inaccurate move, but when it hits, will prove to aid Jynx and it's teammates in battle. It can also boost Jynx's speed using a z-move, which is one of the reasons why Jynx is even used in the first place. It has two powerful STABs with Ice Beam and Psyshock (or Psychic), which provide decent coverage, having a difficult time against Pokemon like Incineroar and Delphox. Jynx also uses Nasty Plot on some of it's sets, which provides it with an extra boost to help it break through Pokemon like Steelix, after some prior damage. Jynx has a few weak points, but can run certain coverage moves like Focus Blast and Energy Ball to hit Sneasel and Slowbro, respectively.

Moves

Ice Beam and Psychic are Jynx's powerful STAB moves. They're high powered, which is what makes them useful, and Ice Beam allows you to threaten Xatu, which allows you to use Lovely Kiss in more situations. Lovely Kiss puts Pokemon to sleep, which not only allows you to set up Nasty Plots, but also gives you +1 speed, thanks to the effects of its z-move. In the last slot, you generally run Nasty Plot so you can clean late game.

Dry Skin helps Jynx wall Vaporeon and Seismitoad, which is very useful. It's nature is Timid so it can have it's maximum speed, and it's EVs compliment that by providing the Special Attack and Speed to help sweep up teams. Any special attacker runs zero Attack IVs in order to reduce Foul Play damage, and Jynx is no different. This is especially important on Jynx since it is weak to Foul Play. This set also runs Normalium-Z, which gives a +1 Speed boost when used with Lovely Kiss. There is an option to run Psyshock over Psychic if you seem to struggle with Pokemon like specially defensive Cryogonal, and any other special wall. For the last slot, you can run a variety of options: For one, you can run Nasty Plot to help break teams, but alternatively, you can run Substitute to protect Jynx from status and any other damage. Lastly, you can run Energy Ball or Focus Blast for key coverage.

Usage Tips
========

This set was made to break teams, so it's important that you get prior damage on Pokemon to support Jynx. This is mainly due to the fact that its item does not increase its power. For one, you can use entry hazards to assist. Spikes are a great example since they break Steelixs Sturdy, which Jynx will lose to if this is not possible. It's nice to use Jynx on teams that are weak to Vaporeon, as it's Dry Skin allows it to wall it completely. Keep in mind that this set is to be used as a late game win condition, so try not to throw it out in front of hazards and damage-dealers, so be sure to keep it in the back.

Team Options
========

Jynx wants a Fire resist, as not only is it weak to Fire thanks to typing, but you are also hindered by Fire types even further due to Dry Skin increasing this weakness. Some great resists for Jynx are Slowbro, Slowking, Guzzlord, and Druddigon (especially for Emboar). You also could appreciate a Dark resist, so that you could potentially prevent Jynx from getting trapped by Sneasel. Two example Pokemon you could use are Incineroar and Emboar, although both are hindered by Knock Off. Another great Pokemon you could use with Jynx is one that is used on a lot of teams: Xatu. It prevents rocks from going up on the field, which Jynx happens to be weak to. Also, pairing Jynx with Water weak Pokemon is wise, as it can open up a spot for Jynx to switch in.

Moves
========

Ice Beam and Psychic are what Jynx has for it's STABs. They're fairly high in base power, which makes them convenient. The Ice attacks threaten Flying types like Braviary and mainly Xatu, which is what prevents you from clicking Lovely Kiss, which puts your opponent's Pokemon to sleep, which can come in handy. The last slot can go to one of three moves: Focus Blast, Energy Ball, or Shadow Ball. Focus Blast hits Sneasel, Energy Ball hits Slowbro (which is very problematic), and Shadow Ball also hits Slowbro, but hits Delphox as well.

Set Details
========

The ability Dry Skin is used over it's other abilities because it allows it to completely stop bulky waters, mainly Vaporeon and non-ground move Seismitoad. You want the Timid nature because otherwise, Scarf Rotom will out speed you. The EVs are in place to provide max damage output and to be as speedy as possible, and there are no IVs in attack to minimize Foul Play damage, just in case. This set runs Choice Scarf, for obvious reasons.

Usage Tips
========

For this set, it is imperative that hazards are not on the field, because oftentimes you will be switching with this Pokemon, especially after using a Lovely Kiss. Not only are hazards bad in general, but you're weak to Stealth Rocks as well. Also keep in mind that this Pokemon is supposed to revenge kill Pokemon such as Emboar, Virizion, and a few others. What makes Scarf Jynx usable over Scarf Delphox is that Jynx has an easier time dealing with Dragons. You should also try and use Jynx (in general) on teams weak to bulky waters, as Jynx deals with them by soaking up Water-type moves with Dry Skin.

Team Options
========

A good fire resist such as Vaporeon is always a great option for Jynx, as it has a huge weakness of fire. Not only do Fire-types cause issues for Jynx, but they practically switch in all the time. Some of those Pokemon are Incineroar, Houndoom, and Delphox (which only fears Shadow Ball). Also, it's especially important to have some form of hazard removal like Xatu, since you'll often pivot around with this set, as keeping yourself locked into one move isn't very wise. You should have an answer to the rivaling Scarfer, Delphox, which Slowbro handles fine. Having hazards of your own is very nice, as it wears down anything that may take a hit from Jynx. This works especially well against the aforementioned Fire-types. Good Rockers to pair with Jynx include Steelix and Druddigon, both of which can beat Xatu, or just simply get Rocks right past it. Jynx can also be paired with any Water-type weak Pokemon, as it gives a perfect switch-in opportunity for Jynx.

I'm going to end up adding more later on tomorrow, and yes, I am aware that my phrasing is absolutely terrible, and that will be fixed in the future. Sash set should be ready tomorrow. I'm posting now because I'd like to take suggestions for information, because to be honest I'm completely lost.
