Dragon Dance Dragonite has crept back into relevance during this recent SPL as a sweeper that provides natural defensive utility against Urshifu-R, Volcarona, and Heatran. Dragonite doesn't run a Dragon-type STAB move because they are either too weak, or have massive drawbacks such as Outrage. Earthquake and Ice Punch hit much of the metagame super effectively. Multiscale makes it easier to set up against Pokemon like Galarian Zapdos, Kartana, and Tapu Koko. Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Ferrothorn, and Clefable present issues for Dragonite without several boosts given their bulk and lack of weakness to Ground or Ice. Partners like Kartana, Tapu Koko, and Choice Specs Tapu Lele greatly weaken these main checks while appreciating what Dragonite brings to the table defensively. Offensively, Weavile is Dragonite's best answer, so having a switch-in like Rocky Helmet Buzzwole or Ferrothorn would help immensely.

Offensive Dragonite has crept back into relevance during this recent SPL as a wincon with Dragon Dance that packs natural defensive utility against Urshifu-R, Volcarona, and Heatran. Explained below With its coverage options, it can cover most of the metagame; Earthquake to beat Heatran, Tapu Koko, Toxapex and Zeraora while Ice Punch hits Landorus-T, Garchomp, Dragapult and opposing Dragonite. Multiscale as an ability allows Dragonite to sponge resisted hits from foes like Heatran, Urshifu-R and Kartana, and allowing it to threaten a Dragon Dance in return. I feel like I get what you're doing here but I think your word choice and sentence struggles makes it seem like Multiscale in of itself is responsible for letting it take on Heatran/Urshifu-R moves when that's very much not the case, save for Urshifu-R Ice Punch, and creates for a redundant read. Kartana is a fine example, but maybe you'd want to throw on Pokemon that can more actively threaten it with a KO or critical damage; Tapu Koko, Galarian Zapdos, and Zeraora being notable examples. In other words, emphasize Multiscale as an ability that lets it boost more easily against Pokemon and coverage that could threaten it otherwise, but also gives it some valuable, extra defensive utility. However, Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Ferrothorn and Clefable all present issues for Dragonite as its main attacking moves can't hurt these foes for much damage without several boosts. Partners like Kartana, Tapu Koko and Choice Specs Tapu Lele allow Dragonite to have an easier time dismantling the opposition as they help greatly weaken remove its main checks while also appreciating what Dragonite brings to the table defensively. Offensively, Weavile is Dragonites best answer, so having a defensive pivot like Rocky Helmet Buzzwole or Ferrothorn would help immensely.
should be 1/1 after this but just wanna make sure this is implemented properly

Earthquake and Ice Punch hit much of the metagame super effectively. (don't think it's very insightful to list famous ou pokemon weak to ground or ice, especially when many aren't bulky. could use this space to explain why there's no dragon move, run it by me if you do) Multiscale as an ability allows Dragonite to sponge hits from Pokemon like Galarian Zapdos, Kartana and Tapu Koko, letting Dragonite set up Dragon Dances more freely makes it easier to set up against Pokemon like Galarian Zapdos, Kartana, and Tapu Koko. However, Pokemon like Tapu Fini, Ferrothorn, (comma) and Clefable all present issues for Dragonite as its main attacking moves can't hurt these foes for much damage without several boosts given their bulk and lack of weakness to Ground or Ice.
