Changes to The Competitor

Cheers, peeps.

The Competitor's going to be going through some pretty massive changes. The biggest is the switch to issues rather than releasing articles as they're written. To make sure the information we put out is still relevant, we'll probably be going with bi-monthly releases. This is where you all can get involved.

Writers
We're always looking for new writers here. Certain features will likely be recurring in each issue, so if you don't know where to start, here are a few things we're interested in:
  • Featured Teams (must be successful in tournaments)
  • Battle Analyses / Warstories (of tournament matches, written by experienced battlers)
  • Recently in Tournaments (a recap of what's been happening in the forum)
  • Interview (of someone with recent tournament success / importance)
  • Featured Tournament (an in-depth look at a specific tournament)
  • Tournament Guides (for upcoming, stranger tours)
  • Opinion / Humor Pieces (thoughts on SPL draft, WCoP drama, that sort of deal)
There are plenty of other things you can do, of course. If you have any specific ideas that you would like to write about, post them in our new Article Approvals subforum.

Battlers
If you have a recently successful tournament team that you would like so see featured, you can submit it to Article Approvals. Make a note of whether you would like to actually write about the team yourself or would prefer to have one of our writers flesh out the details.

GPers, HTMLers, and Artists
If you don't already have access, you can shoot me a PM to gain entry. If you're already on any of those teams, you'll be welcome here as well.

Video Casters
We'll likely be working with videos as well in the near future. If you're interested in that, talk to FireMage or leave your ideas in Article Approvals. As long as you're comfortable talking on camera and knowledgeable about tournaments and battling, we'll be happy to work with you.
