[OVERVIEW]

Blissey may seem outclassed by Eviolite Chansey, but it has two tricks in its egg pouch. Blissey can hold which lets it escape Mega Gengar, who is a serious threat to many stall teams. Blissey also has a mediocre, but usable Special Attack stat that allows it to deal a surprising amount of damage to Pokemon it hits for super effective damage. However, Blissey is even weaker to physical attackers than Chansey is, so make sure your team needs its unique selling points, or else Chansey will usually be the better choice.

[SET]

[SET COMMENTS]

* Softboiled is Blissey's main means of recovery.
* Toxic's building residual damage is perfect for stalling out Special Attackers, and can help physical walls stall other sweepers as well.
* Flamethrower allows Blissey to 2HKO Ferrothorn and Scizor switch-ins, and deal decent damage to Excadrill, Aegislash, and Celesteela.
* Ice Beam 2HKOs Garchomp, Mega Salamence, and Landorus-T switch-ins.
* Seismic Toss offers consistent damage output compared to Blissey's weak Special Attacks.
* Aromatherapy removes status on the rest of your team, which is a great tool against Toxic in particular.
* Blissey is a fairly capable user of Stealth Rock, though note that its physical frailness means that it may not fit in every battle.
* Minimize gives Blissey +2 Evasion, making it potentially difficult to take down, especially if Blissey has the correct coverage move against a team.
* Thunderbolt deals over 50% to Gyarados switch-ins before they Mega Evolve, making Mega Gyarados easier to deal with, though it doesn't offer much else useful coverage.
* Since Blissey has a massive HP stat, investing in its defensive stats makes much more sense. Despite the abysmal Defense stat, a Bold nature and maximum Defense lets Blissey take on weaker physical attackers, while maximum Special Defense still ensures its a good special wall.
* Shed Shell is the ideal item choice since it allows Blissey to escape Mega Gengar. If Blissey is being used for its coverage moves, Leftovers is an acceptable choice to let Blissey last longer.
* Preparing for physical attackers is a must, because even if Blissey deals super effective damage against them, it's much easier to KO than Chansey. Physically defensive Pokemon are great ideas, but be prepared to carry revenge killers for the more difficult to wall Pokemon as well.

NOTE: I pretty much included Leftovers because it has over 50% usage. I actually rather dislike Leftovers since escaping from Mega Gengar is SUCH a huge selling point in my experience, but I want QC input before I remove it.

In the overview you forgot to say Shed Shell in the sentence about Mega Gengar, guess you were thinking about it and forgot to actually type it out. Otherwise I don't have too much to comment about, except is there really good reason to run two coverage moves on a Blissey if it means giving up something like Seismic Toss or Stealth Rock? Especially as the first slash. I'd imagine Seismic Toss, Aromatherapy or Stealth Rock would be more useful than running both Flamethrower and Ice Beam most of the time.

As for Leftovers I think it may be worth keeping if it's getting that much usage over Shed Shell but otherwise I'd remove it. I suppose if you're using Blissey for the usable Special Attack and not so much because you need a Mega Gengar option then Leftovers is okay but I'm not entirely convinced that's good enough reason to be using Blissey. Or that we should be encouraging that as a main option for an analysis/preview. Otherwise I don't have anything else to say, I'd consider this a formal check but I'll hold off in case someone else has something more meaningful to add.
