Online Competition Battle of Alola [POST YOUR RESULTS!]

Well yeah, thanks. Even z-hypnosis is a good set.
I was talking about the tour mostly. Even cause i have Solgaleo and gigalith in my team so i don't know if xurkitree as terminueEdge said (nice set btw) can help me. I have mandibuzz as ground immunity, but it's just one. Then there arr Fini and Scizor.

My team right now is just Gigalith, Mandibuzz, and Garchomp.

I don't even have a special Pokemon picked yet, and I'm racking my brain trying to make sure I'm ready for all of the special Pokemon.

I have just one special mon lol

Solgaleo 4 attack, Sr Gigalith, SD scizor, SpD Mandibuzz, Physical def Fini, sd mimikyu.

I have doubt on mimikyu, but i don't know who i can use that does not make the team more weak to ground

Could I get a little help with the team I have so far? I'm not sure if I have proper coverage or if some mons could be swapped out for better ones.

Well you miss the special mon. Choose one of Solgaleo, Lunala and Zygarde.
Mostly, how do you get knock off on scizor?

I tried it and it's honestly not that good. Other than being one of the fastest Stealth Rocks setters right now it can't do much outside of that and it's usually deadweight after turn 1, if it even manages to survive, that is. Zygarde for example can pretty much switch in and set-up on it for free, and trust me: you do not want a Power Construct Zygarde setting up on you.
That's why you run Taunt.

From what I've experienced Gigalith has been far more consistent. No where near as fast, but it has just enough bulk take a couple of hits so it can set up rocks and attempt to retaliate in the following turn 100% of the times. Heck, Tapu-Koko is straight-up forced out because it can't win the 1 on 1.

A lot of other things can't take it out as well and are afraid of atleast one of its moves, that includes: Greninja, Solgaleo, Tapu-Fini and Tapu-Lele.

252 SpA Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Gigalith: 132-156 (68.7 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.
I think you meant 252 HP/ 252 SpD Gigalith cuz 252 HP/ 0 SpD Gigalith is definitely an OHKO with Hydro Pump from Greninja even if with +Sp.def nature. Though it is a roll... (252 SpA Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 0+ SpD Gigalith: 176-210 (91.6 - 109.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO)

You forgot to factor in sandstorm, since ideally Gigalith will have Sand Stream.

In the sand, even Ash-Greninja isn't guaranteed to OHKO it with Hydro Pump.

252 SpA Ash-Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Gigalith in Sand: 170-204 (88.5 - 106.2%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

Ahh true, forgot about Sand Stream being a thing for Gigalith now.

I haven't played this version of the format as much as I've wanted to (blame final exams), but I can see a lot of stuff that should be fixed with this team.

-For starters, I'd get rid of Bastiodon, I don't think it's really a good fit for this metagame, since it has so little offensive presence, yet its typing is too poor for it to be a good defensive Pokemon either. I'm not really sure if Primarina is worth it either to be honest >_>

-I'd totally change that Muk set. I'd at least have Brick Break and Crunch in there. You need Crunch for Muk to be a threat to Lunala, and Brick Break can help a lot against Aurora Veil from Ninetales-A. I'd even go as far as considering offensive Muk with Crunch / Brick Break / Shadow Sneak / Gunk Shot.

-I'd change the moveset on that Scizor too. Knock Off is currently illegal so you're stuck with Thief, and Aerial Ace doesn't really hit anything important. I've personally been thinking about a Swords Dance set to take advantage of all the Ninetales-A running around, but it might need some Special Defensive investment to handle Lunala (not sure what yet).

-I'd go mixed with Pheromosa (probably either Naive or Naughty depending on whether or not you want a Speed or Attack boost), since smacking Garchomp and Zygarde with Ice Beam is very important! I'd put Ice Beam over Brick Break, and Poison Jab over Lunge so you can smash through Tapu Bulu.

This is mine.

I doubt on mimikyu, i was thinking to put ninetales over it, but better have a ghost. It's always a good help against pheromosa and lunala thanks to shadow sneak.

Maybe i have trouble against trick room with Slowbro

Am I missing something? I feel like Extrasensory on Gigalith doesn't make sense.

Apart from that the team looks ok. Thief on Scizor is slightly better purely because it has more PP. But I would use Roost there myself. How do you beat Celesteela though?

Ahahah, that used to be explosion. Sorry, with the phone it's really hard doing anything.

Uhm, yeah roost sounds good too. I'll try it.
Yeah celesteela it's another of my problems too. Solgaleo has flare blitz, but it's not enough. Someone told me to use bold xurkitree with hp ice. But right now i have no time for softresetting xurkitree. I tried it but, sometimes he has not bold nature, sometimes he has not hp ice. A nightmare.

Maybe i can try arcanine. Intimidate looks good to stop pheromosa. Burn up is a good move to avoid having 3 ground weakness and he should work good to beat celesteela.

Solgaleo's Flare Blitz does a fair chunk of damage to it even if it's fully defensive.

252 Atk Solgaleo Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Celesteela: 140-166 (68.6 - 81.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Solgaleo Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Celesteela: 112-132 (54.9 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

But yeah, not the most reliable answer if your Solgaleo gets worn out...

Anyways, unfortunately I haven't had time to play as much as I wanted to ( damn finals coming up ) but I did manage to put a team together and top the PS! ladder for a while there a couple of days ago ( probably dropped miserably by now ), so I'm just gonna leave it here for anybody who feels like trying it.

Watch out for Tapu-Koko and Stall in general. Your best bet at breaking through stall is Ash-Greninja's Hydro Pump under rain, but god help you if there's a Blissey...

Lol glad to see that Gigalith does not give problem just to me. Mine had extrasensory. Corrin's one has double earthquake.

Anyway i have not idea how somebody go for use hp ice koko, since it's really hard softreset that guy.

Really glad it doesn't force you to set a team upon registration. Haven't quite had the time to get a team together due to work, no BP either so I'm kind of glad items aren't allowed.

Damn it all, just now i know that mandibuzz can learn foul play as egg move. I was sure that it was a normal level move.

How can Scizor study Bug Bite ?
He can't. It was my bad.
Right now i'm using roost or iron head (tapu lele), i have to choice one. Somebody told me even x-scissor, but i don't know..

About Marowak-a. Is it worth it without thick club? I need it for Koko, but it's ok the standard set, or should i run something else?
