Arceus-Fairy [QC 0/3]

Status
Not open for further replies.
[OVERVIEW]
* 120 in every stat is great, as it allows Arceus Fairy to work as a solid support mon without being too passive.
* His pure fairy type is also great both defensively and offensively, making it able to stop threats such as Yveltal, Marshadow, and an unboosted Salamence, but also prone to Mega-Gengar and to steel types like Ferrothorn and Necrozma Dusk-Mane
* Arceus Fairy does also face a lot of competition both as a support Arceus form, with Arceus Water, Arceus Dark or Arceus Ground being able to better check the likes of Necrozma Dusk Mane and Offensive Primal Groudon.
[SET]

move 2: Judgment

move 4: Defog / Stealth Rocks

evs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 96 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Recover allows Arceus to stay healthy throughout all of the battle making it easier to take hit from the pokemons it is supposed to check.
*Judgment allows Arceus to inflict serious damages to the likes of Marshadow, Yveltal, Zygard or Giratina.
* Toxic prevent Arceus Fairy from being unable to do anything against Specially Defensive Groudon and Ho-Oh, as the latter takes very few damages from Judgment, as well as to better deal with bulkier pokemon such as Lugia or other support Arceus.
* Another option for this set is roar instead of toxic, as it prevent Arceus Fairy from being a setup fodder for the likes of Swords Dance Primal Groudon or Geomancy Xerneas if the Geomancy is predicted. Nevertheless, the ability to put opposing defensive pokemons on a timer is usually prefered.
* Finally, Defog allows Arceus to get rid of the entry hazards for the rest his team.
* On the other hand, Stealth Rocks can be used instead of Defog, as Arceus Fairy's typing allows him to beat commonly used hazard removers such as Giratina-Origin or Defensive Yveltal.

Set Details
========

* Pixie Plate is there so that Arceus can fire off high powered judgment, while 96 Spe alongside a Timid nature allow him to outspeed Tmid Yveltal by one point. The rest of the ev's are put into HP and defense in order to maximise Arceus' physical bulk.
* An alternate spread with 248 HP / 64 Def / 196 Spe can be used in order to outspeed Jolly Lucario, but is more prone to be 2hkoed by the precipice blade of offensive Primal Groudon.

Usage Tips
========

* Thanks to its good defensive typing and stats, Arceus Fairy is able to come on a lot of neutral attacks, such as Marshadow's Spectral Thief or a Dragon Dance boosted Thousand-Arrows from Zygard. If it is meant to stop more powerful attackers, such as Dragon Dance Mega Salamence or Bulk Up Marshadow, it is often better to send it on the field through the sacrifice of one of the mons of you team, or a slow U-Turn, so that it is healthy enough to tank one of their attacks and then revenge kill them with a Pixie Plate boosted Judgment.
* As mentioned before, it is better to always have Arceus Fairy at a good amount of health, so do not fear using Recover a lot across the game, so that it can check the pokemons it is supposed to. Therefore, it is often recommended to let Arceus Fairy as seldom as possible in from of mons that could possibly toxic it, as it would severely hamper his staying potential.
* Whether it runs Stealth Rock or Defog, it is better to use these moves if from of pokemons forced out or that can't do a lot back to Arceus, such as Defensive Primal Groudon, other support Arceus or non specs Yveltal.

Team Options
========

* Defensive Primal Groudon and ArceusFairy form a great defensive core, as ArceusFairy is able to take care of several mons that are able to check him, such as Defensive Yveltal, Defensive Salamence as well as Giratina Origin, while Primal Groudon can check and eliminate the majority of the steel and poison types able to get past Arceus Fairy.
* If using Defog, defensive Ho-Oh can be a great partner for support ArceusFairy thanks to the latter's ability to remove rocks off the field, as well as to deal heavy damages to mons such as Zygard-C or Tyranitar, who are otherwise able to stop Ho-Oh. In exchange, it can wall the likes of Necrozma Dusk Mane and Mega Lucario, both of which can threaten ArceusFairy.
* Giratina-o pairs quite well with support Arceus Fairy, as it appreciates a lot his ability to check dragon claw-less Primal Groudon as well as the steel types that can threaten it, while Fairyceus can take on the majority of the dark and ghost types Giratina-O fears.
* Finally, mons that does not care about status such as RestTalk Primal Kyogre and to a lesser extends Ferrothorn, Heal Bell Mega Diancie or Toxapex allows Arceus Fairy to escape the Toxics that would otherwise hamper its longevity.

[SET]
name: Calm Mind
move 1: Judgment
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Calm Mind
move 4: Recover
item: Pixie Plate
ability: Multitype
nature: Timid
evs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 196 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Judgment is Arceus Fairy's main attacking move, allowing it to hit a good portion of the metagame at least neutrally.
* Earth Power, in conjunction with Fairy Judgment gives a near perfect neutral coverage to Arceus Fairy, allowing him to get past steel, fire, and poison types that would otherwise resist Judgment.
* Calm Mind turn Arceus Fairy into a fearsome sweeper by boosting his special attack and special defense, making it very difficult to check offensively.
* Recover gives Arceus Fairy more longevity in conjunction with the Special Defense boost from Calm Mind, as well as more than one setup opportunity.

Set Details
========

* 248 Ev's in HP, and 60 in Def maximize Arceus' all around bulk while 252 in speed and a Timid nature allow Arceus to outspeed Jolly Lucario.
* Pixie Plate is required in order to be able to use a 120 power stab Judgment.

Usage Tips
========

* Arceus Fairy being badly poisoned will often mean that it will never end his sweep, so, like the support set, try to avoid the toxics as much as possible, unless you have a cleric in the back. Alternatively, it is also possible to switch into a predicted burn inducing attack, such as Toxapex’s scald, Primal Groudon’s Lava Plume (however, it should be noted that both of these mons have the possibility to use toxic), or the rare Will-O-Wisp of Giratina-O, so that it won’t be affected by toxic anymore.
* Try to begin setting Calm Minds up in front of pokemons that hit on the special side without dealing more damages than Recover can heal, as Calm Mind’s Special Defense boost will allow Arceus Fairy to take with even more ease the moves of these mons, making it easier and easier to snowball his Calm Minds.
*As said before, Arceus Fairy will often be forced to tank several attacks while setting up, so it is often key to keep him at a reasonable amount of health before setting up.

Team Options
========

* Choice Band Ho-Oh can be a great partner for Calm Mind Arceus Fairy thanks to the latter's ability to remove rocks off the field, as well as to deal heavy damages to mons such as defensive Mega Salamence,Zygard-C or Tyranitar, who are otherwise able to stop Ho-Oh. In exchange, it can break throught the likes of Toxapex, Necrozma Dusk Mane and Magearna, and therefore makes it easier for Arceus Fairy to sweep.
* Offensive Primal Groudon is able to break through nearly every mons that could counter Arceus Fairy, such as poisons and steel types as well as opposing Primal Groudons, making it another partner to seriously consider when using Calm Mind Arceus Fairy.
* Hazards setters such as Defensive Primal Groudon or Ferrothorn are often appreciated, as the preliminary damages provided by their hazard can ease a lot Arceus' sweep.
* Sticky Webs setters, namely Shuckle and Smeargle appreciates a lot Arceus Fairy's ability to pressure the majority of the levitating mons, like Rayquaza or Salamence, that do not care about the speed drop caused by the webs, and most importantly, prevent defogers such as Giratina-O and Yveltal to clear the Sticky Webs off the field safely.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Fire Blast or Thunder, because of their high base power, could seem like an attractive option on the Calm Mind set, but it mean that Arceus Fairy is walled by several key threats, such as Toxapex if Fire Blast is used, which can haze and wear ArceusFairy down with Toxic, and most importantly, Primal Groudon, which does not care about these two moves
* Arceus Fairy’s good physical movepool could make a Sword Danse Variant appealing, but his lack of any physical stab makes it totally outclassed by Arceus Ground and Arceus Normal.
* Refresh on the support set can get rid of Toxic, and therefore increase its staying power, but Arceus Fairy cannot fit it in his moveset.
* Finally, an offensive Calm Mind set, with 252 Spa / 4 Spd / 252 Spe and a Timid nature could be used, but the lack of defensive capabilities of this spread mean that it does have a lot more troubles sweeping through any team featuring a mon faster than ArceusFairy, so it is more often than not more worth it to use the regular spread.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel Types**: Steel types, such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma Dusk Mane, Mega Scizor and the occasional Arceus Steel resist Judgment,can tank a +1 Earth Power,are immune to Toxic and can wear Arceus down with their super effective stabs. Scizor, Arceus Steel and Dusk Mane especially are also able to use Arceus Fairy as a setup fodder.

**Gothitelle and Mega Gengar**: Both of these mons will be able to kill Arceus Fairy nearly 100% of the time once they trapped it thanks to Shadow Tag, and while Mega Gengar can 2Hko it while still being able to to escape the 2HKO from Judgment, Gothitelle , while not caring about Toxic thanks to Rest, will be able to use it as a Calm Mind fodder or to PP stall it to death with confide lowering its Special attack stat, making sure Arceus Fairy won't ever be to 2HKO it.

**Poison Types**: Poison types such as Toxapex, Naganadel or the rare Arceus Poison can easily tank every of Arceus Fairy's unboosted attacks, wear him down with toxic or haze his boosts in Toxapex's case or use it as a setup fodder in Arceus Poison and Naganadel's case.

**Offensive Primal Groudon**: Offensive Primal Groudon, whether Physical or Special, is able to muscle through Arceus Fairy thanks to sword dance doubling its Physical attack stat, and to a sun boosted Eruption or Fire Blast dealing more than 50% of its health. Nevertheless, it should be noted that while support Arceus can't do much to Primal Groudon, the latter can't directly switch into a boosted Earth Power.

**Primal Kyogre**: Primal Kyogre isn't 2HKOed by any of Arceus Fairy's attack, and can easily blow Arceus Fairy away with any of its rain boosted stab. Still, it must be careful about toxic if not RestTalk.

**Ho-Oh**: Even know it hate switching into a Toxic, Ho-Oh's resistance to Fairy type Judgment and immunity to Earth Power alongside his great special bulk mean that itcan easily beat ArceusFairy in a situation of 1v1.

**Magearna**: Magearna sets itself appart from Arceus Fairy's other checks by the fact that it does not care about Toxic, can take any of Arceus' Calm Mind boosted attacks (as soon as it isn't at +4 in Spa), but most importantly can steal its boosts thanks to Heart Swap, making it one, if no the, best Arceus Fairy check.

Sorry for being late, the week has been busier than what I thought it would be but anyway, ready for QC

this fairyceus skeleton has bad sets, outdated details, and lacking content across the board. this would be too much work for qc to get to a reasonable standard. pretty sure you're allowed to use the sm analysis as a guideline as long as you aren't plagiarizing, though be sure to mention interactions with the new mons such as dusk mane and ultra necrozma. the sets/details are just too far off of what they should be, i cant realistically check this off.

qc rejected 1/3

eren

je suis d'ailleurs
it's Stealth Rock not Stealth Rocks by the way

e: in fact, reading this over, there are so many mon related grammar mistakes that you should read this thread to even have of a chance of this passing qc/gp smoothly

e.g "2hkoes" and "EV's"

won't comment on the quality of the analysis since that's not my job

Defog Arceus-Fairy is neigh unviable, let alone the top set, due to how it matches up vs. nearly every hazard setter in the tier. The intro is poor. Sorry, but this isn't quite up to my standard to perform a check.

QC Rejected: 2/3

yeaaa this hasn't seen any updates after the qc rejections so i have no reason to believe this will be updated to a reasonable standard.
