Yes, slightly more offsides will be given now compared to before = more: ranting at the ref, managers losing it, pundits talking shit. All at the cost of slightly less goals. They've basically made football even more football!
Actually, it would be much better if they just go back to the old offside rule. The constant changing of rules is just going to create more confusion, chaos and controversy in my opinion. We will see what happens when the EPL kicks off this weekend though (although I'm pretty sure it's not going to fix anything).
The rule is fair, a player moving towards the ball from an offside position is definitely influencing the play, it is not complicated and it is should not be difficult for a professional footballer or manager to understand if the rule has been broken.
