    SM Doubles OU Japan Sand

Howdy! I'd consider myself an avid Pokemon competitor, and found my favorite doubles team last year in VGC thanks to ORAS. However, the last slot has been quite difficult to figure out what exactly I want there. But here is what I am using now. Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Sand Stream...

    Pokémon Decidueye

Heatran, bisharp, tyranitar, weavile, mega zard, basically fire and dark are your big enemies. Flying and ice are bothersome as well but fire and dark are more prevalent

    Pokémon Decidueye

I have been testing out the Defensive defog set out alongside dugtrio, magnezone, Zard-X, clefable, and toxapex. Defensive defog has been putting in some great work. It takes hits like a champ and can U-turn or shackle back and set the stage for a sweep with clefable or zard. The mon certainly...

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

I'm trying to brew with this idea quite a bit. This trio certainly wants a set up mon that can benefit from the removal of one of the trapped mons. First thought is a steel type, maybe mega-metagross or something along those lines. Mega-Diancie also sounds plausible as well for synergy

Yeah test this ASAP. If it works like that, we may have just found a Pokémon that can be banned on OU

    Sun/Moon Good Cores Discussion Thread

I'd figure we can use the term Trapper Core here, but more along the lines of a balanced team if we are trying to stick with terms already used here Dugtrio @ Focus Sash Ability: Arena Trap EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Earthquake - Reversal - Screech - Memento Everyone's...

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

A slow U-Turner/Volt Switcher allows the more bulky pokemon to take the hit, then switch out after making sure the opponent's pokemon WILL stay in, therefore, you can bring in your best counter/response to the pokemon, for example: Decidueye uses U-turn against an opposing Heatran, they use lava...

I like where you are going with this, it can be called the mine field or something trap related.

Data Pokemon Sun/Moon Battle Mechanics Research

Haven't seen any responses to this, so I'd figure I would repost it. Question about Decidueye: does its signature move, Spirit shackle: after an opponent is hit by it, if decidueye is no longer on the field (fainted, switched out, etc.) can the pokemon hit by shackle switch out?

    Tapu Koko Discussion

For good partners, tapu koko can be physically focused and work well alongside mega manectric. That mega always was missing a buff to get the important OHKOs necessary to sweep without rocks, and electric surge might be good for that.

I like the set, showing more of its bulk power here. Not sure about how well curse will work out, I want to test this thing on ladder ASAP because I know it can do something well, but we just havent found it yet I was reading through your calcs, and I noticed some problems with some of the...

Just looking through Koko's moveset, it looks amazing in ou and doubles alike. I'm in love with this KOKO....

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

We got no clue, I can see it easily performing well in UU, but I'd also want to say it could perform well in OU if its signature move is as broken as people may think it could be. It really depends on how good that move is and if Decidueye is bulky enough to take hits from that metagame where...

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

I thought of that too, but for the trap to stay longer than mean look seems completely broken, even more so than shadow tag IMO. That's why I doubt it's like that and more along the lines of mean look + damage. Plus, last time we trusted GF descriptions we swore decidueye and vikavolt were going...

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

Yeah, Shackles is fantastic when it works, we have to think more about the average useage of it. Thats why I am mainly focusing him as a defensive mon, because the shackles still prevents opponents from doubling out which is nice because it narrows down their options.

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

I like the idea, dont get me wrong with my next statement: it really depends on decidueye being capable of taking more than a 2HKO for it to work out. If it does, the shenanigans sounds awesome

    Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye Discussion

Im just curious how shackles work. Does it keep the "trapped" mon in until decidueye faints or leaves? Or does it stay on if decidueye switches out. My gut says the former but the latter would be insanely broken.

Yeah the stats are definitely better like that. i adjusted it to 248/20/0/0/240/0, Ill have to readjust the top calcs to show the new changes but for first glance it looks way better.
