I'm coming back after a long time and have one major question: what is a solid framework/template for building a balance style team this generation? In earlier generations (3-5) it was easier because the game had less threats overall in OU metagame and there were other broken concepts such as...

I agree. This has been such a metagame defining mon for a long time, and some people feel that a suspect is in order. Since it has not received one, I think the council should clear this up for the sake of future discussion.

What type of team are you running that set on? That set seems that it doesn't do enough due to the lacking of both Knock Off and Toxic. I really want this mon to be good, but think as you said it feels disappointing so far. I like the EV spread tho.

I do not think so. It is too crowded on any of its current sets to give up a move slot. Tapu Koko also does not have enough utility moves to really make a set centered around it.

    Pokémon Tapu Bulu

I do not think that a Big Root set needs jolly with max speed, or just max speed in general. Also, a good improvement to the set would be to replace Protect with Swords Dance to make Tapu Bulu an even better stallbreaker.

    Pokémon Xurkitree

Yeah I agree with this to a great degree. I just wanted to add that the main role for this mon on a team is a stallbreaker if running a Tail Glow set. If running Choice Scarf, then it is different. However, I think that the Tail Glow set gets more done. Also, I completely dissagree with this...

I've been using this Tangrowth set on OU recently to great success on a balance team. Tangrowth @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Regenerator EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 48 SpD Relaxed Nature - Giga Drain - Sleep Powder - Knock Off - Hidden Power Fire Tangrowth is a really good pivot in the current meta I...

Im not sure how feel about Kommo-o with that set. Also, try this set on Nihilego: Nihilego @ Focus Sash Ability: Beast Boost EVs: 80 HP / 176 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Power Gem - Hidden Power Fire - Stealth Rock - Sludge Wave I am suggesting this set on Nihilego because it seems to fit...

I have been using a large amount of Latios since SUMO have come out, and I have run it with just about every set that exists for it. However, one set I just cannot seem to grasp if it is good or not is the Choice Scarf set: Latios @ Choice Scarf Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252...

    Pokémon Tapu Bulu

I have been running a particularly unique Tapu Bulu set that I have found to be work wonders in Pokebank OU. Here it is: Tapu Bulu @ Life Orb Ability: Grassy Surge EVs: 168 HP / 124 Atk / 40 Def / 176 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Leech Seed - Horn Leech - Superpower It...

    Pokémon Magearna

Okay Kutscher i think that this strategy has some things going for it and some not. The thing that I like is the Fairium-Z. I think that the huge BP moves that Fairium-Z provides mons + Magearna base 130~ special attack is very potent in offensive power. That said, with Magearna's base...

Good changes, I was also finding trouble with Rotom-Wash as well, and these all help with him too. Ill try to implement all of the changes, but I'm still not sure if I want to implement the Starmie for Latios change. Good Job

ORAS OU Zard-Y Balance Peak 1420+

Hey, I have recently decided to take competitive Pokemon more seriously. My first realization was that I needed to make an effective team if I want to be a good player. So without further ado, this is the RMT of my first team. The Team at a Glance Teambuilding Process Charizard-Mega-Y...
