Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

I will admit, I have used a TPP team on the ladder several times. Lapras is the best team member, by the way. (By this, I mean a 'pure' TPP team. Actual movesets from the stream and all.)

Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

I've ran into people using ThunderPunch on Dragonite twice in a row. I mean, really? Also, in something that fits more, someone was using a defensive Talonflame with Flame Body and Toxic. Read that over a couple times. Let that sink in.

SwagPlay, evaluating potential bans (basic definition of "uncompetitive" in OP)

Also, seeing as noone sane uses Swagger without Prankster, we may as well just ban the move entirely, to be frank.

SwagPlay, evaluating potential bans (basic definition of "uncompetitive" in OP)

Exactly. It isn't that it's broken, it's just unfair to have a game that is meant to be reliant on skill decided entirely on luck. A little bit of luck? That's fine. Means you find obstacles you gotta think your way around. That much? Nope.

SwagPlay, evaluating potential bans (basic definition of "uncompetitive" in OP)

I like SwagPlay, but the problem is it's a step above Paraflinch. Paraflinch was powerful, but could be avoided if you knew your way around it. Swagplay just makes things unfairly luck based. Ban Swagger+Prankster. Keep Klefki. Keep Paraflinch.

    Pokémon Heracross

I honestly have pretty good opinions on Megacross. It's my second favourite mega, behind CharY. It has great defenses, offenses, and movepool. Its major weakness is its massive Talonflame vulnerability and incredibly mediocre speed. That's the problem with Hera. It's not the kind of thing...

    Move Stealth Rock

I'm just making an example (hell, Dragonite's my favourite pokemon, and the ace of my team). What I'm saying is that a lot of pokemon automatically become less viable (particularly bug, flying, fire etc) just because of Stealth Rock, and that's kind of annoying. At least these days there's a...

    Move Stealth Rock

Gah. Is this really the right thread to say this? Whatever. I don't like Defog. My strategies generally revolve around setting up dual screens, getting one of my sweepers in and then going 6-0. Defog removes that. Not to mention that as my team thrives on offensive pressure, and no users of it...

    Other Viable Megas

I love irony. How could I resist? Anyway, here's my (revised) opinion. By themselves? Sure, most of them are good (discluding maybe Mega Banette). They're all pretty strong. That ain't the point. (Note how I said 'good', not 'viable') You only have one mega slot, and clearly you're going to use...

    Pokémon Espeon

I wouldn't recommend that. Carbink's relatively useless and is incredibly passive - get a better stealth rock setter. Besides, it means you're doubling up on Fairy-types. It's a shame that Dualscreens Espeon is nowhere near as good this gen, it was my favourite set last gen. (Well, at least now...

    Move Stealth Rock

Honestly, my problem with Stealth Rock is because it deals different damage to different types, which automatically makes particular pokemon unviable. *cough**volcaronaanddragonite**cough* That's why I'm fine with Spikes, because it deals (relatively) equal damage to each pokemon.

    Other Viable Megas

I don't see any more megas being banned, except for maybe Pinsir. Kangaskhan, Lucario, and Gengar did deserve to be banned, but the rest are fine and do have playable weaknesses. If we're going to ban any more we may as well pull a full sweep and put everything in Viability Tier S into ubers...

    Other Viable Megas

Judging by the viability tiers, this isn't even necessary anymore. Pinsir, both Charizards, Venusaur, Garchomp, Tyranitar, Mawile. Done. /thread

    Move Stealth Rock

Status, Taunt, arguably Voltturn. Do they count as common concerns? Assault Rocks sounds pretty cool to me. make it happen game freak

    Pokémon Mew

Pursuit's a lot rarer in Gen 6 OU compared to Gen 5, and Genesect's just been banned to ubers. Mew's not too bad at the moment.

    Pokémon Espeon

That doesn't... really seem that good of a choice. It gets walled by Dark types pretty easily because HP Fire really doesn't pack much of a punch this meta, and Espeon's physical defenses are godawful.

    Pokémon Espeon

I don't think I've ever seen a pursuit user in gen 6 OU, except maybe Tyranitar. So it's generally better to use that fourth move slot for something else, like a coverage move or a support move.
  18. SHSL Lucky Crits

    Pokémon Mew

That's basically its advantage. It's got versatility and it can fill multiple roles at once. It also has surprise factor depending on which set you're running, which can be a very useful thing.

    Pokémon Espeon

I used to run Dual Screens Espeon back in Gen 5, but now that Deoxy-S has dropped down from ubers (for now at least) and Klefki is a thing that exists, it isn't quite as good at its job anymore. I've been using Calm Mind Baton Pass Espeon, with a few changes. Switch into a status or hazard...

Move Dual Screens (Reflect and Light Screen)

I've been using dual screens since last gen, and I have to say that Klefki is the best, if not only dual screener worth using (except maybe Deoxy-S). Here's the set I've been using for it - doom keyring (Klefki) @ Light Clay Ability: Prankster EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature -...
