Soprano / Alto primarily! I'm studying music at uni :3
Which do you play?

Alto mainly, but i play a bit of bari too. Been playing for about 7 years now.

Very nice! This is my 4th year, played trumpet for 3 years prior to sax (though sax is so much more fun lol)

i originally started out playing trombone, but that lasted for like a month lol. sax is just so much better. been wanting to try out soprano or tenor but just havent been able to get my hands on one, unfortunately. ;_;

Tenor isn't anything special imo lol, soprano however is amazing. The upper register just sounds so nice :o
What alto do you play?

I currently play on a Yamaha YAS-23. I got lucky and only paid like 800 dollars :D

That's very nice :D I've got a YAS III 62, got it for $2k which was really really good, it was practically brand new

Wow, thats a nice instrument. You even got it somewhat cheap since ive seen those go for 3k+. Thats great

I'm extremely lucky lol, what's your mouthpiece / reed / ligature setup?

for my reeds, I use Vandoren size 4's. I use a Rovner Versa ligature. as for the mouthpiece, I use a Yamaha 4C. I may get a metal mouthpiece in the future, we'll see.

Interesting, a better mouthpiece would certainly be a good investment for you. A good compromise would, imo, be a Selmer C star mouthpiece with Vandoren 3 reeds. Rovner ligature goes nicely! Though it all depends on the sound you want I guess
