  • Hey pens, about the post you have put on the forums. I thought to myself trying to help improve your team. If you want me to pass you some teams to tryout instead. Either that or Ill try to do some improvements too it.

Wow, both of these teams look very well put together. I'm sure that there's a lot more going on here that I don't understand, and yes I would certainly appreciate help. Is there a guide to the common checks and threats in OU? I know the Pokemon but I still don't grasp all of the concepts at play here. Maybe you could link to a thread or two that you think would help me out?
P.S. Thanks for the teams, I'll give them a try :)

A bit of teambuilding guide, helps explaining different styles etc. Some switchins and such things.

Well you can just keep looking through forums too should be easy to find I think theese will help the most.

And as for the teams, they are rather "simple". But obviously a teambuilder will have intricacies like "I do this as a surprise". Say the tyranitar set, I always icebeam when facing landorous for example. Just an example. And maybe I read that he has lando as scarf on how he made the team then I might play different and such things. It's just a simple thoughtprocess :)

Ok, thanks! I've been reading up on issues of The Smog and on teambuilding, so I'm slowly getting more comfortable with it. From what I've seen, it doesn't look like people are making any more team cores, so I'll probably borrow a popular one (e.g. Lando-T plus Rotom-W) and build it up from there on Pokemon showdown. The only thing I really don't understand at this point is how pro players recreate these teams in X/Y or ORAS. How do people obtain 6IV Jolly Heatrans? Do they just soft reset until their thumbs fall off? If so, I now have a lot of respect for these people... Anyways, thanks again for all the help so far, it feels really great to be so welcome while being so new :)
